After Playing Super Mario Galaxy....

...It's just amazing. It really is.

I got it about two weeks ago with my brand new Wii, and I can't put it down. I don't play regularly, but I have about 61 stars right now. The game is just flawless; the action never stops, the controls are super-tight, and the graphics are gorgeous. The soundtrack is the best part; the epic music in many of the galaxies, namely Melty Molten and Dusty Dune, draw you into the atmosphere like no other game.

I don't understand why people are complaining about it getting GOTY 2007. It deserves it. As to why other sites did not give SMG GOTY, I really have no idea; the bar for 3D gaming as a whole is raised incredibly high with Galaxy. I will admit that some of Mario's suits are pretty frustrating to control (I can do without Spring Mario), and ball rolling is extremely annoying, but overall the gameplay is just marvelous.

I must say that if you have any interest in games whatsoever, you must buy Galaxy. Until then, you're really not a true gamer.

I admit that the above statement was a bit harsh. However, Galaxy is a game nobody should miss, and I stand by this opinion.

Because it takes away every single skill in Mario's arsenal (except the ground-pound) and replaces it with unituitive hopping and springing.

Completely agree, i wish id rented it isntead of buying it, why buy such a short thing? to give random nobodies the idea that I'm a "True Gamer"? :S

Nothing weird about it. The Wii is very difficult to find at the moment so a lot of people are waiting. It's cheap. It looks as if it'll have excellent exclusives. I'm assuming JPobs wants it for the exact same reasons and I assume like me he's waiting for the software library to fill out a bit
