Hmm, this looks like it might actually be true. Its popping up on multiple sites and Nextgen.biz is a pretty respected and reliable source. Bungie leaving MS would be the same as Miyamoto leaving Nintendo. :oCarmilla31

Myfriend's father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate works at Square and he told my friend that FF13 will come out on the 360, and thatFF14 will only be on the 360...

This is just a dumb rumor, Bungie isn't going anywhere.

for clarification...even though bungie itself is owned by MS....there is no reason bungies employess cant leave and start there own studios.....

this is what gabe newell did....he once worked for MS...left...and with another MS employee founded Valve.

I've seen a couple people say it, along with the TC. Sure he didn't say exactly that, but that is what I got out of it.

Illegally break away from Microsoft?

With the breach of contract they would lose money wouldn't they? If Microsoft was smart (which I think they are since it appears they're learning the way of video game industry) wouldn't force one of their best developers to make Halo 4 when they could instead create another great new IP which could possibly attract even more fans.

Please don't make Master Chief the next Mario or Zelda.

Sure the people at Bungie can break away from Bungie but that doesn't mean Bungie will, I am pretty sure that if pretty much everyone at Bungie is planing on leaving there would be more people who know about it besides a Bloggers friend of a friend.

MS owns bungie. bungie can't "leave" unless MS decides to sell them off, and i really don't see that happening. sure the development team could leave for other jobs, but bungie studios itself can't "leave" since MS owns them 100%mwa

Its pretty obvious why bungie ( IF ) wants to leave M$, microsft is probebly giving Bungie a smaller cut than they deserve on Halo 3.. Microsoft is ripping them off. If they leave, that woudnt happen, and they woudnt be forced into developing only Halo games :S

Bungie can leave anytime they like, just like ever studios and developers .. ( research before posting ). For Example, most of warhawk developers left, there are 6 developers left for warhawk.. there were 100 a year ago, where did they go ? they left Sony and joined David jeff ( developer of God of war ) in the new studio they call "Eat,sleep, play, and rest".

Everything is possible..

do you have basic 3rd grade reading comprehension? read before you post. i clearly stated that the members of the team can leave for other jobs if they want, but bungie studios (e.g. the entity itself) cannot be taken independent as it is wholly owned by MS. and sorry to inform you but i do work in investment banking. what about you?

Why are there so many discussions about "Halo 4" in thsi thread? Halo was a trilogy. For them to make Halo 4 it would be illegal I believe. Do you remember the opening for the original Star Trek? It said '3 year mission" or something like that. Therefor after that number of seasons the show had to be stopped because it would have been illegal for them to continue.BumFluff122
