Of course that word doesn't exist. You want to know why?
Because that's TWO words .
Seems kinda logical , eh?;)
if it were console wars than gears would be exclusive, however its SYSTEM wars so gears of war is not exclusive, system includes everything, consoles, PC´s, Cellphones, you, digital tic-tac-toe´s you name itstika
I agree, if I can play the game on something else its not exclusive
Gears
Bioshock
NGS
Tekken6
all not exclusive
i am and am not ok with "console exclusive" depending on if it does or doesnt support my opinion at the time...frankeyser
LOL your perfect for System Wars

Yes in the big picture they are not, but when you are comparing console to consoles you can't get gears for PS3. So I think that someone should put in effect that you can use that statement when doing so.
and can it be used to compare games between the 360, PS3, and Wii? When having discussions between just consoles, is it possible to use this term? Or do we have no choice but to abandon this word because of the PC? I believe when comparing "consoles" you have the right to say "gears of war is console exclusive because you can only get it on the 360 and not on the Wii or PS3." Please discuss. I would Like Casey to get involved as well because he made this statement in another threadCaseywagner

I misunderstood your post before I checked back and noticed that you replied to it. I then did not how to edit the thread, so I corrected myself in this thread, if you look up the page it is in one of my replies that I misunderstood you and not take that quote in context. I thought by that quote you were saying that it is ok to use that statement Console Exclusive. Thats why I made this thread. I'm sorry by not understanding you thoroughly I should of waited for you to reply in the other thread.
They need a console wars. PC's should be excluded because most games on PC are made by MS any way.casey7672That is completely wrong
if u do a direct comparison of 2 systems or 2 consoles yes a console exclusive counts for that debate but not in the overall grand scheme of things.
Console exclusives are enough of a reason to purchase a 360 over a PS3 or Wii so long as you dont have a PC. If u have a PC then gears, bioshock mean nothing to you, because they are on your system anyway.
Overall debates and the forums whole purpose no, console exclusives dont count.
If you compare consoles directly (such as 360 vs PS3) yes they count.
Gears, Bioshock, Viva Pinata, Lost Planet, Alan Wake, etc are not on 360.
Just like big multiplats are a positive for 360 and PS3 but a negative for wii.
Since wii doesnt get Call of Duty 4, the darkness, assassins Creed, unreal 3, etc its a negative against the system.

Arcade and PC or consoles are different things to me. I can understand why a game on PC makes the game not exclusive because gamers can go to the store buy the game and play the game at home with the one time purchase of the game being the only time you get charged. But Arcade is completely different. Arcades are not as common in the U.S. as they once were before systems caught up graphics wise. But lets say you finally find an arcade, that means you have to drive to it everytime you wanna play it and pay 50-75 cents each time to play the game. Not even close to the same experience.
I mean with that logic then Halo 3 is not exclusive to the 360 even thought I dont own one because all I have to do is drive over to my friends house and Play Halo for free. Arcades are not the same thing as console games, most lack many game features that some argued made GRAW exclusive for the 360 even though its on the PS2 and PC.
I read Casey's opinion and I strongly disagree. Arcades are not the same gaming experience as home gaming which is why they have become rare while video games are sold in pretty much every store.

The flaw in your reasoning is that your friend's system would still be a 360. An Arcade board is a different system.[QUOTE="Javy03"][QUOTE="onewiththegame"][QUOTE="stika"]if it were console wars than gears would be exclusive, however its SYSTEM wars so gears of war is not exclusive, system includes everything, consoles, PC´s, Cellphones, you, digital tic-tac-toe´s you name itPanzer_Zwei

anyways if the game can be played on more than one system its not exclusive
thats its, no exceptions
you guys just need to find a better term than "console exclusive". saying "console exclusive" usually goes hand in hand with ignoring one of the competition to make one system look better.CaseyWegner
Well I mean thats whole point in the system wars right. What is wrong with console exclusive? Lets say you are comparing PS3 V.S. 360. You then say well 360 has gears which is console exclusive because you can't get it on the PS3. I think that should be a valid argument, because it is a FACT that you can get gears on one "console" that being a 360.
I think a better solution to this mess, is just to count all AAA's not just exclusives.I was about to say that
anyways if the game can be played on more than one system its not exclusive

onewiththegame
I mean, if an Arcade game comes out, but it has added features, like online on consoles and it gets AAA, I don't see why shouldn't it count.
Also for multi-plats. If a game gets AAA in a console, and later gets ported to another and doesn't score AAA, (or vice versa) it just seems unfair to me, that it loses it's AAA counting status.
to casey:
I see what you mean, but is the xbox 360 really going against the pc? As you can see the majority of pc games are on the x360 also. But thats because Microsoft owns both the PC and the 360.... so why would a console be against a system that is made by the same company...
Like I've said before, I don't think arcade games should count.
There are no reviews for arcade and therefor, no way to determine what is AAAE or AAE or whatever.
If GEoW gets 8.5 on the PC, will it not be a AAAE for the 360?DireToad
we've never considered a game a AAAE just because another version of it scored below a nine. if we did that then things like halo, halo 2, and kotor would have been xbox AAAEs.

the PC has 7 times the amount of exclusives as the the 360 in the same time period....clearly MS does not own PC gaming.

PCs aren't made by Microsoft. PC games can be played via other operating systems. Linux and MacOSX in particular.
And yes, if the availability of some of these games being on PC is keeping PC owners from buying 360s, the 360 is indeed competing with the PC.
But I still disagree with Casey on the issue in general. No need to reiterrate that again.

if we have exceptions than fanboys will go crazy with reasons why x game should be AAAE
Keep it simple, if its on another systems its not exclusive

Ok. So according to that if you're comparing PS3 and Wii, you can then claim CoD4 is exclusive as well, since it's not on Wii... That is just dumb imo. Could there be a reason this argument exists and ONLY includes games that are on PC as well, hmm...*cough* lemming damage control *cough*

i just think there needs to be a better term...one that doesn't have "exclusive" in it. i mean, let's say there's a 360/ps3 game that you want to use in a 360 vs. wii comparison. what do you refer to the game as? non-ps3 exclusive? :?

True true... And it's even worse with UT3 which is on 3 systems, and is still considered a "console exclusive" by some cows. Or was it "a timed console exclusive for the PS3" :P Far-fetched anyone? But you gotta admit it's mostly lems pushing this argument, due to Gears, Bioshock etc. I think TC is a lemm as well.[QUOTE="xscrapzx"][QUOTE="CaseyWegner"]you guys just need to find a better term than "console exclusive". saying "console exclusive" usually goes hand in hand with ignoring one of the competition to make one system look better.Deihmos

Yes there is a sticky that says you have to, but not when you are comparing console v.s. console, then the PC is not including in that debate. Why you ask? Because PC is not a console. If I was to compare what systems have what exclusives then I would have to include the PC because I am comparing all systems.
