I totally agree.
The design of the 360 is horrible. The components used are abysmal. For $700 (premium pack + 5 years of XBL) + the extra $10 for each game is a ridiculous amount to pay. Having no dedicated servers is a complete rip-off. How can halo3 be fun if the host has an advantage ?? It totally DESTROYS the experience.

I have been gaming for 18 years now, and I must say the Xbox 360 is BY FARthe worst console I have ever seen.

One of the main problems of the Xbox 360 is that Microsoft rushed it to the market to beat Sony and Nintendo by 1 year. The chinese factories who make the system blame Microsoft's haste, poor desigining, and cheap components used to make the Xbox 360 as to why it fails at a rate of 33%.

33% 1 out of 3 Xbox 360s die within a few months, and most of them after the warranty expieres. Time to call the FCC. 10 million Xbox 360s need to be recalled and destroyed.

Let's say this is a court. The Xbox 360 is on trial. If found guilty the punishment is that all 360s are to be rounded up and destroyed. These are the charges:

- Failure to give gamer assumed 5 year life span without failing, sometimes up to 4 times

- Making users pay for Xbox Live while their console is being fixed

- Console scratches $60 games, and customer service blames everything, including YOU, but the 360 itself

- Failure to return original console to users after fix, users usually get a different, refurbished model

- Obnoxiously loud cheapDVD drive and fan.

- Pathetic 20 gigabyte harddrive (only 13GB useable). A couple of demos and you've used half your HDD.

- screwing gamers up the a$$ by relasing new 360 premiums with HDMI

- Charging $180 for a 120gb HDD that you MUST buy from MS when a 2.5" notebook 120HDD can easily be found online for well under $100

- Charging $100 for a wireless network adaptor that you MUST by from MS when a similiar product can be purchased for your PC for well under $40

- Patheticly large cheap power brick that's nearly half the size of the console. Once again another cheap feature of a cheaply made rushed system.

- $60 a year for Xbox Live. $60 for what? Dedicated Servers? Nope. Try laggy peer to peer. $60 for what then? $60 for a gamer tag and a friends list. That's it folks. AND you still have to see ads. Where does the money for the ads go to? In Microsoft's pocket, witht he rest of your $50 that they didn't need.

- Failure to make top games 100% exclusive, as Gears of War, Halo 2, Bioschock and other so called 'exclusive' Xbox 360 games appear on the PC, and tend to be much better on the PC. More maps, mods,and the use of a keyboard and mouse to name just a few. Imagine if Gran Turismo 5 or Mario Galaxy was available for the PC. That shows just how pathetic the 360 'exclusives' are.

- Hyping up the most over-hyped, over-rated game in the history of gaming, Halo, just to sell consoles.

- Releasing games under the genre 'RPG' and 'ACTION' when in reality they are first person shooters (FPS). Example : Bioschock, Mass Effect

- MS Paying Paramount $150,000,000 to drop blu-ray support just to prolong a format war that bluray was winning 3-1 just so you can slow and hopefully stop HD discs progression to the mainstream so you can institute HD movie downloadsand test VC-1 codecs on HD-DVD

- Supporting Toshiba and releasing a HD-DVD drive for the 360 just to make Sony's life miserable

Xbox 360 and Microsoft is therefore found GUILTY of the above infractions of the law. All Xbox 360 core, premium and Elite systems are to be gathered at holding stations across the world, to be collected and brought to a landfill in China to be crushed and burried.

The Xbox 360 is hands down the worst video game console ever built. If it weren't for the mild success of the original Xbox and the lack of competition from Sony and Nintendo during the '05 holiday season the Xbox 360 would have gone the way of the Dreamcast.

Sadly enough, because it had a 1 year head start on it's only rivals, millions of unsuspecting buyers purchased the worst console in the history of gaming.

since when was halo 2 better on the pc than on xbox it scored like a 7.5 or something and the original one scored a 9.4 and also microft isn't trying to keep those titles exclusive to xbox if the title is on another platform then it (generaly) will sell more copies than if on only one platform making more money for them

and just if you hadn't noticed, the xbox 360 is a console, not a computer so stop trying to compare the prices of the HDD and network adapter for the computer

I wonder how many PS2 got returned in it's generation? I don't think there have ever been a perfect console made that didn't have hardware issues. Dreamcast probably came close though. The games on the XBox 360 are too good for me to worry about the hardware failing. I have enough money to buy another 50 XBox 360's. Am I worrying about the 3 Red Ring? No. I bought the console to play games. Am I playing great games. Yes. Has my console broke yet. No. Nuff said.

my friend spent his summer out in the blazing sun for hours everyday to afford one. as for "trolling" phuleeeze i dont own a ps3 so stop the lame accusations. i am typing as a consumer i agree with the threads point up until the lets burn them part but the verdict is in and the facts are undeniable the 360 was a rushed peice of machine.

There are 7 gigs dedicated and reserved for game and system updates.

And things like the wireless reciver for pc will work perfectly fine on a 360. These problems are why they havenew heatsink(mine does)and i think a new smaller chipset. Other than one breakdown mine runs strong and has some real good games that take my time so I dont have to whine about a system I haven't ever had so Ican justify my purchase

There's just 1 thing that I don't understand, everything this post maker says is true yet there's so many people supporting the 360 and bragging about it over the PS3. Also it's obvious MS continues to copy Sony's hardware by making the Elite and now adding HDMI. I bought a 120gb HDD for my PS3 for $100 and a 20gb HDD for a 360 is $100. Makes no sense to me. PSN is free and works better than xlive and xlive costs $50/yr. PS3 has BR player, rechargable controllers, huge HDD, WiFi, and has nearly a 0% failure rate with no freezing. You some of they thing might be true...But they only why a console will scratch a disk if customer is not treating the console right. there have been test on console that were said to scrach disk and amazingly never got it to happen again. And as some who has owned 3 differnt Xbox360 alone. only one disk was every scrached and that was because we moved the console while it was on.

And sending in a console and getting a refurb back check the warrantry they have the right to do that.

And no one says that you have to buy the wireless adapter. And a true gamer that new anything would not game on a wireless adapter. Just for the fact you lose at least half your speed on wireless connection which will make laggy games.

Xbox 30 was not rushed if you knew anything you should know that right after the first xbox was released they were already making the xbox360. the first xbox was just to get the foot in the door.

And there are no real figures to sight the acually hardware failure right on the console. Since MS never relaesed them.

Now as a gamer form the first Nes and owner of every console since. The 360 does have it's issues none the less. but still a great console.

half games don't count. the reason it got a good score is because it was cheap, kinda like a XBL arcade game.

you can tell a system is a real flop when half games are the only games you have to play. tell me COWs what was the last good game you played on the PS3?
