No hope for Dead Space or Silent Hill Homecoming?
Dead Space looks very... don't wanna say the word but you know... and it's being made by EA right?
Silent Hill, forgot about that one. Good devs so that'll probably be cool.
What about Suda 51's new game? (Fatal Frame 4)

I've never heard of or played that series to be honest.

I've heard alot about it, but I've never played any, although I'm pretty interested now that Sua 51 is working on the latest installment.

Did you see the new Dead Space gameplay videos on GameTrailers? Everything looks nice.

No, dead space looks like a snooze fest.
No, dead space looks like a snooze fest.
goblaa
Yep, I agree with that... but it won't be as bad as AITD.

How can a horror game with a lot of intense moments be a snooze fest?
Also, to goblaa... OT, but how can you give Deal Or No Deal (DS) a 10, yet give The Darkness a 4.0?
Im so envios of 360 owners, they are getting this masterpiece before us .whoa, im blown away.
the only saving grace this game has is that the 360 sales will dwarf the ps3 version sales cause the PS3 version comes out this fall, when nobody would want to play it anymore.
-GhostMLD-
Man Alone in the dark is so horribly multiplat o_O. There's even a Ds version .
EDIT: no there's no Ds version, just checked, a Ps2 one does exist though -_ó
Lets not forget, these are the same guys who gave god hand (one of my personal favorite games) a lousy 3!
I suggest playing the game before harshly judging it...

I'm just saying it doesn't really look that fun. If it turns out you are right, then great, the more good games, the better. But I also thought AITD looked like crap (I thought that with Lair as well) and people get a bit defensive about that sort of stuff for some reason.
To me, RE5 is the only game of this genre that I'm actually interested in. Everything else looks mediocre (haven't seen enough of SH yet so that is excluded).

Fatal Frame is easily the scariest gaming series, you have to "fight" ghosts armed with only a camera, the games are designed to have a constant sense of tension and some incredibly jumpy/scary moments, I know many people who have played both SH 2 and FF: CB, and couldn't survive FF: CB due to fear.

True the fatal frame, or the derived PS2 copies of it that play the same can be extremely scary. At the same time laughable though, when you see certain disfigured ghosts awkwardly waddling around.
I think I'll wait to Dead Space is released instead to get my horror thrill.JLF1
Yeah EA branching out to a new genre and having goofy ideas like no pausing. That'll go great. A big complaint from Alone in the Dark from reviewers was it didn't pause when you went into your inventory imagine the backlash on Dead Space for no pausing at all.

Derived PS2 copies? What the hell are you talking about each game came out first for the PS2 and 1 and 2 were ported to Xbox.

Its another game, not called fatal frame, but had identical gameplay, that was on the playstation 2....If i remember....
Project Zero - it was called.
It could have been fatal frame renamed for my region, im not sure.

Getting a 7.0 from IGN UK and getting a 3.5 from IGN US. Something isn't right. Also, EuroGamer gave it a 7.0, which I would put more trust in. I think IGN US obviously failed with this review. Sure, it's not a great game, but their review was far out there.BioShockOwnz
I think they are all burned out on giving 10's.
Wow. That is harsh.
Just goes to show all, ytou really don't know until the game is released. Really. You can look at 100's of screenshots and videos and still have no clue how it really is.
Here endeth the lesson........
After seeing a couple gameplay videos I knew the game relied far too much on its gimmicks and didn't have anything to make it worthwhile.foxhound_fox
[QUOTE="Koalakommander"]I totally called this one. I own.
Called it when they showed the first demonstration that blew everyone away.
It just looked bad to begin with to me.

Well, I'm glad you can brag about a company's misfortune. I'm sure all of the people that will lose money from this are real happy for you.
I'm bragging about my ability to spot terrible games.
How is this "misfortune" in any way? They had complete control over how their game was made. They are just bad at what they do.
Sadly, this game will still sell 300,000+ copies easily because it has guns in it, so it won't be a complete loss.

Yeah Project Zero is Fatal Frame, its Project Zero everywhere else in the world but only in America its Fatal Frame. Probably because Project Zero has little do with the contents of the game and it wouldn't catch American interests. Though it makes sense in a subtle way, the Japanese word Rei which is one of the words used for ghost is also used sometimes for zero (although typically Japanese just say zero). Plus the dev team that made the originals was called Project Zero so they named the title after themselves.
