@charizard1605: yo VaatiVidya just uploaded another video about 15 facts about Bloodborne most people don't know, it's fucking great. I want to replay the game now.
Speaking of which, did you see Matthewmatosis' Dark Souls review?

No.
I have essentially purchased every Xbox console for a Halo game. I bought the OG xbox for Halo:CE. I actually bought the game before I owned the console because they were sold out everywhere lol.
I bought the 360 for Halo 3.
I bought the Xbox One for Halo 5.
I've never regretted it as it's my favorite FPS series in history, including the dozens I've played on PC. There is no other shooter that has the same pacing as Halo. To me at least, it's as if Unreal Tournament and Counter-Strike had a baby and its name was Halo.
Halo 4 was a disappointment on the multiplayer side but they have reversed or corrected every major issue I had with the game. The beta a year ago was fantastic and I'm salivating for the final game.
Currently have a gaming PC with the specs in my sig. I had a 970 for almost a year and sold it and went back to my old 7850. Truthfully I don't game that much any more.
Now Halo is the only console game I can sink hundreds of hours into without getting bored. I spent north of 600 hours in Halo 3 and only stopped playing because of Halo Reach and then moved to Halo 4. Halo 4 was a disappointment so I sold my Xbox 360 in mid 2013.
I feel purchasing an Xbox One would be extremely redundant with my gaming PC but I can't help but feel the Halo call. I can literally hear the game calling me in my sleep.
In Canada the Halo 5 bundle custom edition is 549$. I could almost buy a 980 at that price or wait for Pascal.
I always made fun of gamers who bought a system for one game but I'm slowly becoming what I always hated.
This makes sense Juub. I am getting the Wii U just for Mario Maker. The Master Chief Collection is countless hours of quality Halo. I will always go back to it as any Halo fan will. Take the plunge and bring him home.
Yes because both of those games are garbo. One was and in many ways still is a broken mess and the other one is developed by a bunch of no-talent hacks that lack creativity.
I personally am not a fan of buying a console for only 1 game, but if you desperately want it that bad, then do it. Plenty of other games on XB1 to play as well.
If you like Halo I don't see the problem. But I would never want a One when most of the games I'm interested in are also on PS4. That and PS4 has exclusives I'm more interested in.
Black Friday isn't too far off. You can wait for then if you feel like you can't quite justify the cost.
@Juub1990:
$600.00? Heck, that's almost like two X1's? I paid $300.00 in 2014 for a MCC Bunduru on BF.
I'm in Canada. The Xbox One Halo 5 Edition is 549$+tx which is 630$ after taxes. If Canadians get lucky during the holidays, we may see a 50$ price cut which would still put it at 580$.
I'm considering buying it second-hand but the huge problem is that I wouldn't be able to get a refund if I end up not liking it. If I buy it from a retailer I'd have a 30 days return window.
@charizard1605 Yeah. I guess. I kinda dread paying 70$ for new games on console. They're 75-79$ in Canada now.
I irony of this being I got my PlayStation 4 from Canada for $293.12, new with The Last of Us: Remastered....
Also yes, you should go for it.
@Juub1990: Considering how you feel about 343's Halo 4 (you aren't alone) and this upcoming Halo 5 is the same team behind Halo 4, yes, you should at least wait and see how Halo 5 turns out.
That's what I'm doing after getting new dev 343s Halo 4 and Halo MCC so early and paying a hefty price.
I already own the Xbone and I was in the Halo 5 beta, but there are still too many CODisms that 343 are shoehorning in that I fear will push people towards COD:BO3, and other shooters this year.
The hard part is done, I own the Xbone...but 343 has yet to win me over after buying their two other products.
---
I bought a system for mainly one game and I'll never do it again
Exactly.
Think it's a smart decision but I would wait for black friday. With Sony official moving to $350, I would expect retailers will be dropping another $50 for $300 dollar deals on xbox one and for PS4. So jumping in for halo 5 will be icing on the cake and not a huge investment.
Halo MCC is a game I will be playing for a long time, I'd say go for it!
Halo 5 is not high on my radar due to the lack of splitscreen, but I'll get it someday
No. I want to get an Xbox One for those reasons too. I won't... I mean, not yet, but I really want to play Halo 5.
After Halo 4 disappointed everyone and the Halo collection was and still is a disaster how many times can people fall for 343's lies? They are a shitty talentless hack dev.
I never got to play 3 or Reach, or Gears so an XONE will probably be in my future, just dunno how far into the future at this point
So, I would say it's not too dumb
Just about, yeah. You don't want to become what you hate.
You'll be able to score a cheap second hand Xbone and Halo 5 in a matter of months anyway,
£390.45 for a mediocre shooter sounds like a steal. Go for it.
Better than buying a console for Bloodborne
Can you afford it? Then yes. Go for it.
Is cost an issue? Is it making you feel financially inconvenienced just entertaining the thought of buying a system for one game? Then i'd skip it all together.
I definitely can afford it but 600$ for one game seems stupid. I'm also afraid I'll get bored after just a few hours. Say 50hrs or so. If I do get bored, My Xbox One will be a 600$ paperweight. I'll probably try to sell it but still. Betting a whole system on one game seems awfully risky.
You can always buy Quantum Break next year =)
Scalebound is also really cool.
I was in the same situation as you.
For Xbox One I wanted: Halo MCC, Rare collection, Forza 6 and Forza Horizon 2. But was that enough for me to justify buying a whole new console ?
Along with the games coming out in 2016 ? It was to me.
Look into Forza if you are into racing games (PC doesn't have games like Forza 6 or Horizon 2). Look into Rare Collection if you are into amazing, but older, games.
Yes you are ....
So much money for 1/2 games ? Naaahhh .... What you can do
1) Lend an X1 with Halo 5 from a friend for 2 days or something and burn ( i do this sometimes )
2) Have a meeting with a friend being X1 owner and will buy Halo 5 so you finish the game together and have the whole experience ( I do this every now and then )
3) RENT an X1 with the game of your choice for few days or a week and burn ( thats what im doing most of the time for console i dont own and for games i MUST play at all costs )
4) Wait first for the reviews and check if the game is a multiplayer success so you justify the pricey purchase. If games multiplayer isnt something youll end up playing for more than few weeks ... Do something of the above.
5) Pretend there isnt a HALO 5 in the market and save money , time and ... your sanity !

Because people on the internet don't agree with it obviously.
Even though MCC flopped hard here, mostly because of matchmaking (there were some bugs in the SP too, but most have been subsequently patched), the SP campaigns are a blast and look n sound amazing. They certainly don't get enough credit around here. There's like 600 possible achievements to get, and tons of re-play-ability.
Not really. You want to play an entire collection (Halo 1+2+3+4 +ODST [I think it's included through free DLC? Someone please clarify this one.] + Halo 5) which is available on the XB1.
ODST was only free if you played MCC at a specific time when it was broken like hell. But it's cheap. I paid like 5 bucks for it I think.
On topic: well, there's obiously something wrong with you because you like Halo. Some of the worst campaigns with always the same shitty enemies, the same shitty guns (except Halo 4) and probably the worst level design in the history of gaming. But if you like it that much, go for it. Don't feel bad for spending money on something you will enjoy.
