Am I The Only One That Thinks This About Diablo 3?

it looks dated. it looks like an old game. At this point, with all the amazing gaming experiences I've had this gen, I'm passed this type of game (mindless looting, dungeon-crawling hack n slash bollocks). I just don't understand the appeal of playing 12-year old rehashed gameplay with ugly graphics on my super rig. why does this excite people?

IMO blizzard is just as guilty as nintendo in taking advantage of people's nostalgia

And I hope you're alone on that, the game is very pretty, very easy on the eyes. I don't know why people need Crysis, realistic graphics, for every damn game. Can't at least one look painterly?

The game has real issues, specifically with its 'difficulty' and depth of a puddle items.

I really like the backgrounds and art direction, only thing I think looks bad are the end game armors, just like in Skyrim.

Also if you seriously think Blizzard is as bad as Nintendo with that you are just completely wrong.

I didn't play it on your super rig, I played it on my PC.

I agree with the topic ! Bought the CE and when i found out that S.Didier and C.Metzen were no working on the art book i was really dissapointed !!!

Sold it on the second day (double the price). There was more art on the making DVD !!!

to be honest near all games this gen have been "bland, mindless and dated gameplay" Especially most of the FPS games, or rather any AAA game with almost no exception have been rehashes of what weve seen before. D3 is no better or worse then the rest, it just is what it is. Cant blame it for that really, unless you have to blame for the sake of blaming. That said I have very little interrest in it.

Logically I can see why it is appealing, easy entry, and the lootwhoring is a formidable force in any game.

So go play Demon's / Dark Souls then. D3 is geared towards the majority of people who like to play games because they are fun, not just because they are hard.

Diablo 3 flat out sucks: the art style, the loot, the story. The gameplay is still fun in a mindless kinda way, like all ARPGs, but for $60 + DRM the game should be way better. What a colossal disappointment...

It doesn't look dated to me though, it looks like a painting in motion, very appealing to the eye. The cinematics are glorious aswell. Basically, an up-to-date, polished point 'n click - action RPG.

That is what's called a 'dislike', it's perfectly natural, no genre/game will appeal to all people. Just because you don't like this genre, doesn't mean everyone shares this view.

I think it looks fantastic. I love Blizzards 'style' artistically. An added bonus is that it's not system intensive.

The community can never be as bad as moba games, so at least there's that.

It does'nt look dated at all.. In fact it looks great for 3D isometric gameplay.

It's DRM is crap but otherwise it's ace.

Original Diablo was a better game.

I don't know what to make of Diablo 3. Point and click to attack. I suppose the same could be said about any PC game, but in Diablo 3 the input looks curiously disconnected to the action to me.

It's also $60, which is a lot to ask for a PC game you can't even play offline.

I agree, the art style as well as the tech in this game sucks badly.

You knew going in exactly what the gameplay was going to be like, it's your own fault for not knowing what you like. As for the graphics, yeah they could definitely be better. Titan Quest looks about as good as it and it's 6 years old.

The art design is fantastic.

The technical graphics might not be super amazing, but its by no means a bad looking game.
