An Honest first review of ODST

"The last thing I want to say is that the atmosphere in this game is just amazing. Absolutely the moodiest Halo game. Comparatively, I believe "343 Guilty Spark" was the most atmospheric level in the trilogy. This game easily takes the cake in that department. The music, the visor, the emptiness of New Mombasa are really what set this game apart from the rest of the franchise. When you're playing those sections as the rookie, that is when you'll recognize something new about this game. Otherwise, its strictly Halo. The best of Halo...but still distinctly Halo."

I agree with that review, reading the entire thing that sums up what I think exactly. Also the carbine is pretty awesome in this one, I hated it in the other halos and it seems that it and the plasma rifle does more damage O.O.

I'm pretty surprised he didn't mention the amount of recoil that's in the game now.

Its really not that appealing to me, especially since it seems like MS bumped up the price from "expansion" to "full blown game" just because of the hype. TBH though, Halo 3 disappointed me, and I consider Halo 2 to be where the series jumped the shark, still fun, but itwon't get any better.

He played halo 3 multiple times and enjoyed it

his opinion = null. Terrible campaign. The first level was great. And then it just plummets after that first level. My hatred of the campaign is more than halo 2 tbh.

I never said it wouldn't be good, I just said that the popularity of Halo games are one reason this happened, and I never said Reach would be bad I just don't think it will be better than Halo 1 or 2, and its pretty far off to make any definitiveconclusions right now. I'm going to play it, but I most likely won't buy it.

I don't think people are knocking the fact that it is a good review but instead that you said it is the only honest review of the game, implying the previous bad reviews are dishonest. One could argue that the negative reviewers would gain nothing from lying.
