*Walks behind Silverbond and closes door* The Colonel wishes to speak with you.Anonymous demands are completely reasonable and would be applied in an ideal world. In this world those demands would never be met without a fight, but after a long, arduos and senseless fight by Sony the industry would end up turning into what anonymous has demanded. So Sony is just holding back the inevitable.kuraimenI can understand 3, but definitely not 2.

How does it feel to be a tool? And he didn't even leave to SouthAmerica because of Sony lmao
Still falling for it, huh?:lol:Meanwhile at Sony Headquarters...

Seriously, Anonymous are kidding themselves if they think some minor disruption of Sony's websites is going to change their minds. This is like thinking that putting graffiti on your boss's door will make him quit.
I can understand 3, but definitely not 2. Why? it is like you buying a computer and Nvidia not allowing you to modify your hardware to overclock your graphics card. You bought the thing, you can do whatever you want with it, even burn it if you like. That's why the iPhone is now open because cellphone-wise that demand is already applied to the industry.[QUOTE="kuraimen"]Anonymous demands are completely reasonable and would be applied in an ideal world. I'd like to see what they could do to Sony without affecting the consumers, the short-sighted bastards.

The ToU can't do s*** if the thing is legal. No matter what cellphone companies put on their ToU anyone can modify an iPhone., the law says. That's why all this legal battle is about, if Geohotz wins there's a chance the industry has to let their system be modified and no ToU could stop that. It is certainly not ridiculous and it could very well happen.[QUOTE="kuraimen"][QUOTE="sherman-tank1"]I can understand 3, but definitely not 2.

Now THAT would be unreasonable but they're not demanding that.

Well yeah maybe he did went a little bit far there. But Sony shouldn't have taken away the OtherOS function in the first place, Sony went far there too. So both are guilty in some ways and non guilty in others. The thing is that Anon demands are not really unreasonable, there are things that other industries have as standards and there's a good reason why they are the standard.
I approved of geohotz recreating OtherOS capabilities, but now both Sony and the hacker community have taken this thing way out of handferret-gamer
Ya, I wouldn't really lump Anonymous in with the hacker community. I don't think any self-respecting community wants Anonymous mentioned in the same breath as themselves.
Not gonna happen, who are Sony to tell the consumer what to do ? just STFU and get a life.TheGuardian03
Fixed that for you :)
- Sony must not pursue legal action against any collected IP address.
Alpha-Male22
The only reason that I agree with.

the consumer has the right to do whatever they want with what they paid for, sure. as long as it doesn't hurt others in the process, which geohot releasing the keys caused. And that's all there is to it.

They modded the software. That is something completely different.[QUOTE="kuraimen"][QUOTE="sherman-tank1"]I can understand 3, but definitely not 2.

It's too bad Anonymous is run by some nerdy high school teens. Their immaturity bleeds through everything they say. I love the idea of Anonymous, but the execution, public speaking, and some motives are extremely poor which makes it hard to side with them.
Eventually some people are going to get tied to Anonymous and get raped in court. The problem for companies is that this group is going to be really hard to kill since anyone can really take over if they've got the brains and motive for it. I'm sure there are plenty of people who could step up and do what they do and probably be a lot smarter about it.
Anonymous are simply an inconvenience for Sony right now and I have a hard time believing they're going to do any real damage.
Man I can't wait for Sony to catch Anonymous, and trust me, they WILL catch him, it's only a matter of time. Better yet why doesn't just Sony hire Geohotz to catch Anonymous and Sony will give him a little break.
