[QUOTE="Brownesque"][QUOTE="ReaperV7"]first time i ever heard about this game....where are the characters from?ReaperV7It's a new IP from the ceators of Guilty Gear X. oh i thought they were characters from some random amine show. Might as well be, they are pretty generic.
Tis a very enjoyable well worth the praise. Each character has its own way of fighting, and no, it's not just a slight variation, but completely different styles. It's not like SF, where every other character has a charge/quarter-turn moveset that pretty much copies Ryu's fireball.

Ign, GT... only left for me is GS ans GiantBomb...a must buy for ps3/360 ownersGiancar

This is Faust from Guilty Gear:
This game looks to be extremely over-rated from what i've seen. I guess i'll have to rent to see if it actually deserves the credit its getting. Adrian_Cloud
So you haven't played it, yet you claim such a thing?
Oh boy... *facepalm*
If you don't enjoy it, then fine. That doesn't mean it's overrated. But the fact that you're trying to claim such before even touching it just reeks of preconceived notions.
Might as well be, they are pretty generic. A little harsh for a series that just started fresh. What were you expecting in a fighting game? For a series thats just starting fresh, I expected something fresh. I've yet to play the game, but the gameplay looks more flashy than fun, along with the generic characters i don't really see a reason to pick this up. The music sounds cool, and its great that their staying strong to their anime roots. So kudos to them for that.[QUOTE="Adrian_Cloud"][QUOTE="ReaperV7"] oh i thought they were characters from some random amine show. D00nut

It's flashy and fresh. Since you haven't actually played the game you're trying to form an opinion about, then atleast listen to the reviewer in this video review. If you had, then you wouldn't have made this post I'm quoting, as your complaints are all addressed in the review, and they don't hold any weight whatsoever.

Awesome as news, screw it I might as well just buy it, it will need the sales help anyway since it probably wont sell very well :(.
if this were another genre, you would see a lot of more threads and a lot of more posts... sure you will some more posts prior the GS review...but nothing ot of the normal GS conceptionI can't wait too pick this up. :D
Is it just me, or are some people hopping on the BlazBlue bandwagon? No one cared about Fighters when the genre is dieing now suddenly in 2009, everyone is hardcore Fighter fan who posts on SRK.

I always cared, I grew up with fighters, luckily SF2 was my 1st fighting game.I can't wait too pick this up. :D

I listened to the review, he didn't address any of my complaints. It was in depth or concise, it was more summary of the highlights of the game. Each character has their own unique traits, astral finishes are like MK fatalities, but from what I saw the character still had a decent amount of health :|, game has great style...etc. Barely anything he mentioned was about fighting mechanics, timing, pacing, style of play, length of typical match, tier of characters, balancing issues, learning curve, training mode. I mean no balancing issues at all with only 12 characters, this game is mighty impressive then.[QUOTE="-PuLse"]if this were another genre, you would see a lot of more threads and a lot of more posts... sure you will some more posts prior the GS review...but nothing ot of the normal GS conceptionThe same people are the ones who hype scores and play the next game with pretty scores to feel "cool".I can't wait too pick this up. :D

well the last couple of years wasn't really big in the fighter front... Besides SC4 what else? So there you have a reason, how talk about fighters, if there are not really much of those games... The same example with platformers (one of my favourites genres) how can we people discuss about it, when there are barely platformers anymore?I don't know who the character is but he(not the guy in your pic, but a guy from blazeblue) looks like a demon from a miyazaki movie, i swear almost identical. Guilty Gear had generic characters and really interesting characters, like the dude with the pool cue and the Death dude. I found that most of their interest was centered around the actual animations and the artistic flourishes decorating their attacks. Are you a fan of fighting games?
I need to get home and play this. My copy has been sitting at home since july 1st :-(. I'm suprised with all the favorable reviews. I knew I would like the game as an ArcSystemWorks fan, but I didn't think this game would change many reviewer's minds about 2d fighters.

I wish Ignition/SNK would give us a nice little dvd or soundtrack with it. :( This is the first KoF since the NeoGeo era that is so dang expensive. All the PS2 releases were dirt cheap.

The PS2 versions were good but not great as the others. The last great KoF game was 2002 which is arguably better than '94 and '98.
I wish an artbook came with both games. That should be like a requirement in Limited Editions. :P
