The review is also talking about the PS3 being the best version. From that, I'm guessing that Chris Priestly (Bioware dev) was right about the PS3 demo being an old build.

Kinda ironic especially when the developers themselves and many other sites say that the PS3 version is "definitive."

unless bioware is lying to us, which I doubtWell like I said before, by messaging Chris Priestly (Bioware dev for PS3 version) he said that the ps3 demo was not the final build. Hopefully it's not PR talk though
I'm baffled that they didn't just say that the ME2 for the PS3 was just the same game as the one released for the 360, a year ago.
Oh, wait, they want to sell their product.
[QUOTE="-The-G-Man-"]Mass Effect 2 is like $20 used on the 360, soooo....SwagSurf
So....it's better on 360 because it's cheaper then? Didn't 360 owners pay $60 before?

Yes god forbid they would create hype
why are you excited about ME2 when you dot get to play ME1.
FatCatPatRat
Cause the ps3 fanboys are excited for stealing one of the biggest console exclusives of this generation?

Why didnt rockstar claim 360 version was better? Why didnt bioware claim PS3 version of DA was better? Answer? Because the PS3 version of ME will release later than the others, so they want so sell more copies by saying it is better. Simple really.[QUOTE="navyguy21"][QUOTE="Diviniuz"] unless bioware is lying to us, which I doubtDiviniuz

As long as PS3 owners understand the ME1 plot, then it's ok. Btw I have played it :)
But one of the main selling points of the ME series is that you get to continue your character into the next game.
If you intend on buying this on PS3 (which im assuming since you made this thread) then you don't get that.

Sure it's bad for PS3 owners to not get ME1, but storywise, they'll understand, and since it's coming to PS3, it's not stopping PS3 owners from playing 2010's real GOTY :)

The problem isn't the story. It never was. If you want a lowdown on the story, you type Mass Effect 2 on Wikipedia or just look at Bioware's wikia. The problem is that you won't have the chance to import your character from ME1, and observe the changes (small or large) the actions you performed throughout the hours and hours of Mass Effect will cause on Mass Effect 2.

Or they wanna make sure people actually buy a year old game for $60 as opposed to picking it up on 360/PC for $20As someone who doesn't own a ps3 or xbox, I don't understand why anyone bothers to compare the 'versions'. You don't even have to do anything to know the one that comes out later will be a tad bit more polished.

Like I said before, it's bad for PS3 owners. The only pro you get from importing an ME1 character to ME2 is that you get more minerals and you jump up to level 5?

What other options do PS3 owners have in order to not pay $60 for an amazing game, especially how many of them are dying to play it? ;)

I imagine if they were "dying" to play it they'd have already bought an Xbox or a PC to play it with.
Let's say I wanted to play a PS3, and I went to Best Buy, and the clerk said "Well, you owe us $599 US dollars because, well, it's 'brand new' to you". Shouldn't I complain about that?
Why don't console gamers complain about these sorts of things? It's beyond me why people are so willing to be ripped off.

I'm failing to see how it's fanboyish to pick the later.
