[QUOTE="FIipMode"]Ugh this argument comes up every time, PS3's got the best console version, I have the 360 version and even I can admit that.timmy00

I would say there is no best version. I hardly doubt there's a big difference between the two versions. The PS3 version may look a bit better but most likely not by much. With that said I haven't played the PS3 demo of ME2 so I'm not sure if the differences are big or not. Most likely not.

Just my two cents. :)

I've been hearing that the demo wasn't the final build, so take the visuals you get with that demo with a grain of salt.

Yep, when the game was brand new.

Raymundo_Manuel

Does it matter? It's "brand new" for PS3 owners you know ;)

It should.

I find it incredibly weird how excited, and willing PS3 owners are to buy a year old game for $60.

I know right? After all it's not like they are getting any of the dlc and it's not like game prices ever go down. It's a shame, ps3 owners will have to pay $60 for an old game no matter how long it's out.

i think it would have been a much better deal if it was $40, but paying $60 for one of th ebest games this generation with all the dlc isnt a problem by any means. heck most of us who got this game paid 50-60 for it at the start. :p

I agree $40 would be a great price. However, people shouldn't make out like they have to pay $60 for it. The price will most likely go down in a matter of months.

Doesnt matter, PS3 version is the most expensive one...$60-70 lol...

You can get it for $20 on 360 and PC...meh, it's not worth to pay full price for an year old game.

Yes 360 version is definitive becaause you played it and because importing characters from ME1? I'll stick to what most sites and devs say about the PS3 version for being definitive. This is ME2, not ME1 :)

a small graphical upgrade isn't the definitive version, otherwise the definitive version is always on the pc... guess what, everyone's already played it, except for people only with ps3, we've played through me1, then we played through me2 and everything carried over, now everyone is waiting for me3, the ps3 version of me2 is not the definitive version, its an afterthought...

Graphics, performance, no disk swapping, etc. Are you really going to call 360's version definitive because 360 gamers played it already? And besides, this is ME2, not ME1. This is the definitive version on consoles, like it or not. Maybe you think it's definitive on 360, but fact is, is that the sites and the developers had it themselves. Mass Effect 2, not 1. :)

its not the definitive version, there is nothing factual about it, disk swapping? because that happens a lot, enough to be a minor annoyance, and a small graphical upgrade, A YEAR LATER, who cares? the fact is the ps3 version is late to the party and nothing will change that, its the same game with a slightly shinier coat of paint, most people have experienced the game excessively, and having the ability to play through mass effect 1 first and have your choices effect what happens in two is infintly better then being able to gloss over what happend and effect some major choices.

Well, ME2 is a highly praised game on the 360 and PC. I don't see how the PS3 version should be any different :D.

man, this whole thing is getting old, if you already played the game, sweet, but don't get hurt when the game is coming out on a console you dislike, also that whole "the choices carry over from the first game" thing is soooo old. The interactive comic is going to be 15 mins long and include all major choices, i rather take that then play mass effect 1 "and yes i have played it I just never beat it" also if i need further clearing i'll just head to mass effect wikia. Its 60 bucks, so what? xbox fanboys act like its been 20 bucks since it came out, you guys payed 60 bucks for it too, yeah the game is a year old but some people haven't played it and with mass effect 3 coming out for the ps3 too bioware made mass effect 2 available and if microsoft didn't own the rights to mass effect 1 i'm sure they would have released mass effect 1 with it also. I'm sure the closer it gets to release the more topics we're going to get like this and its getting old, if you played it and enjoyed it cool, but let other people who only own a ps3 enjoy it, is that hard? also i own a 360 but i'm going to wait for mass effect 2 for the ps3 because of the controller and trophy support "i like trophies their fun to earn". More than likely i'll rent it too, so hmm guess i won't be paying that 60 bucks you lemmings suspect of me.

Chris_Williams
Agreed, but its not surprising that people don't want a good game to come to the ps3, especially having the better version.

yep, everyone is out to get thepoor PS3.

its not like cows are claiming this to be the definitive version like its massive ownage or anything. not like the PC version is and always will be vastly superior. Not like, as i said before, one of the main selling points of ME is carrying over your character and his decisions through each game.

yes, people want to hate simply because its on the PS3, and not because of its boisterous fans...

Most gaming mags and sites seem to think not having an me1 save carry over isnt a big deal as some make it out to be, its still scoring amazingly on ps3, and has the comic to make choices, plus all the dlc included, no wonder its so easy for people to decide that the ps3 version is better than the 360 version

PS3 fans hate on a game -> Said game is announced for PS3 -> PS3 fans can't wait to play it. What a humorous cycle it's become.jalexbrown

ME2 was the game that made me jealous of 360 owners, and now that it's coming to ps3 i don't care at all about any of this carrying over business.

a Playstation magazine calling the Playstation version better? it must be so much more definitive then.

PC.

Seems like your going against what developers and what many sites are saying. Like I said before, and I'll say it again. This is 2 not 1. This is the definitive version..on consoles. What major choices do you speak of too, because other than importing a lvl 60 character, you just get more element zero, paladium, etc. Nothing else.

You also get a certain amount of paragon/renegade points depending on how you played the first game, which can be crucial to keeping your team alive.

Some points. i was 100% paragon in ME1;not much other than going to to level 5 and getting some paragon points. Even without importing an ME1 character, you can still keep all of your teammates alive.

Looking "slightly better" is hardly a triumph for a game that came on year after the original.

iAtrocious

If they were both started at the same time sure, I don't know why you'd assume this though.

All this back and forth in regards to which me2 is the 'definitive' will be moot once ME3 comes out along with its DLC. Its very likely that there will be a box set of the ME trilogy making that bundle the definitive 'king' so to speak. With this in mind, the argument is simple: ME Trilogy>>>>>>only me2/3.

Mass Effect 2 is like $20 used on the 360, soooo....-The-G-Man-
Doesn't the Cerberus Network require that you buy the game new in order to gain access to certain content at no extra charge? So then why would you buy it used in the first place?

Solution: buy it new for 20$.
