I think thats pretty obvious, games like gears of war, elder scrolls oblivion, doom 3 or final fantasy XII are hardcore games
What do you mean ANOTHER REASON?! This is the same old reason we've seen since WarioWare came out.

I like minigames, and I don't give a flop about those games... It's called a gaming taste.

What makes Doom 3 a hardcore game? Its bloody, but its short and its mindless in its presentation. Or Gears? Both Doom and Gears are good games, but they are short, violent, and you can move through them with little thought. On the Wii, that part will be covered by Resident Evil 4 and Manhunt 2
Your other two examples are games that require a large chunk of time and effort, along with pre-planning and thought. Those on the Wii would be Zelda and Paper Mario so far, with more in the pipeline.

I wouldnt call him hardcore. He had to leave the forums yesterday because (by his own admission) it was "past his bedtime". The day i listen to a 12 year old's definiition of hardcore is the day i quit gaming
LOL, it seems that almost every poster here is sheep, its really lame that there arent almost any lemms, cows or pc fanboys herequakeknight1991
If you are calling me a sheep, you are sadly mistaken.

Yes, lets discuss the Doom storyline:roll: (and I read the books way back in the day, you are probably too young to remember them)...And you do actually realize that all four of the games I listed have storylines as well. Even funnier, mini-game collections like Rayman Raving Rabbids has a story too....
They are hardcore games cuz they have A STORYLINE and they arent minigames.
quakeknight1991
To be fair though the story of Oblivion isn't the main draw of the game,it is how yougo about participating in the story that gives the game its value
and the stories in GEow and Doom 3 are about as complex as your average mario, most of us aren't little kids who are impressed by swearing and "scary monsters" so we already know this.

Actually, I love my 360, but its one thing to like and support "your" system, and a whole different thing to lash out at another system, especially with painfully inaccurate, tired rhetoric.

I liked Doom 3 due to its atmosphere and XBL co-op. I usually don't get into the run n guns like Painkiller and Serious Sam. I've tried, but a run n gun needs something extra (good story, atmosphere, great graphics) to hook me into it, or else I tire of them quickly.

Actually, I defend the PS3 as well. I will defend any of the systems, unless the criticism is something that is factual and valid.

He not saying they are bad just they don't have a story....The old Commander Keens that ID use to make have more of a story than Doom does but it does not make Doom a bad game. Just don't sit there and tell us that there is some deep story behind them.

Like I said earlier, there were Doom based books that did have a story and characters. They were actually pretty decent. However, the games themselves, especially Doom 3 (as story could be ignored in the "clas-sic PC days)should have had a better story, especially since the atmosphere and graphics made such an engaging world.

I played the Wii a couple weeks ago for the first time, and I have to say it was fun. I played Wii sports, and I'll tell ya thats pretty fun if you get some people together and have some brews. The thing is that is very dissappointing is the graphics, and I played call of duty and the graphics were awful, and with the Wii remote playing that game is really not that great either. If I was to get the Wii it would be for the older games that I can play on it(which I can do now on the pc with roms) and Wii sports which was fun. I don't think the system is awful but I think that nintendo should of invested a little bit more into to make it as powerful as the other systems.

I know where your coming from on the books, most games don't even care about the books. I use to read the old Bard Tale books and Wing Commander books way way back in the day.

I would say to you, wait until developers start putting out their best efforts before you buy the launch "slop" that 3rd parties sent with the Wii. Call of Duty on the Wii is a terrible effort from the developers, and is not nearly indicitive of what the Wii is capable of, nor its potential.
Im called him a little kid cuz he just insulted me cuz i just said my opinion and mature people dont do usually this
I'm not insuting you because of your age, even though that alone is reason enough to insult you. I am insulting you because you have a limited perspective on what makes a good game. Also you type like an idiot.
