THE GOOD

Flying is exhilarating, and the views are beautiful

Experimenting with new loadouts each mission keeps combat fun and satisfying

Some side characters and their stories are endearing and interesting

THE BAD

You're frequently forced to land or stay on the ground

The main story is incredibly difficult to follow

Playing with others causes pacing issues, while playing solo can be tedious

Boss fights are underwhelming and lack the excitement found in other combat situations

Sigh.... Bioware.... Just so much sigh.

Ouch... I can't say I disagree. That being said, it's early for a game like this... I'd be more lenient without the technical issues, but as such it's a shoddy release.

Kind of unfortunate but I still want to play it.

LOL. Gamespot reviews. Still playing day one. Not sure what is up with gamers and reviewers blind hatred to Bioware and EA but at the end of the day it doesn't matter. :)

I wouldn't believe or trust GS reviews if my life depended on it. They would give a turd a good score if it was a Sony exclusive. These hacks can't review a game if their lives depended on it either.

I agree with the negatives in the review but most of that can be fixed. They released a massive patch a few minutes ago on Origin that should take care of a lot of the issues the game has. In time this game can become amazing after all the glitches have been ironed out. The core gameplay loop is good it's just technical issues holding it back.

At what point was it a good idea to trade a beautiful world with interesting character and lore for a repetitive loot shooter infinite feedback loop? That's the main negative I got from the reviews I've been reading. You can't fix that with a day-one patch...

Looter shooters flop so fucking bad, it's like all the developers who make them really half ass it. Tons of bugs, tiny campaign yet next to no end game, no polish , bad ui, etc.

I can only imagine if someone finally made a really good one, it would score so god damn high due to lowered expectations.

Time for EA to take Bioware for a walk in the woods. RIP.

The game. Is garbage. Fixing load times will not fix the overall game. How this took 6 years to make is astonishing. It's a modded version of mass effect andronma. Almost. Zero content.

I played 3 hours before I uninstalled the game properly because I had watched alotof videos and knew it didn't get any better so there was no point, and I usually play these grindy games.

D3,Poe, destiny 2, been grinding mhw for 400 hrs now. I didnt see a point in this grind. Nothing about it was appealing to me

All others is mixed too so Gamespot score is pretty much in line with other reviewers. Its opinion but if all opinion is equally mixed, there is something wrong with the game.

I'd be willing to bet it'll still make a profit due to Bioware's pedigree and its similarities to Destiny.

A profit is not good enough for these publishers though, they need to make all the money.

I can second this. Most of the hype for this game came from the media. The game looked pretty but meh. Now that its out its like the reverse.

What is with the reviewer bashing here? Can we just take issue with the review and not just the person or even the outlet writing it? Stop making it personal just because you disagree with the review.

I don't care about the reviews. I am enjoying it so far. I had fun with The Division and Destiny games. Once I exhaust all the content, I just stop playing. No biggie.

Sorry I play game not scores. I have played many games that were 6's or 7's the I enjoyed the hell out of. Just sad that you depend on a number to let you know if a game is good, or bad. Still doesn't mean the game cant be fun. I have also watched many a movie that scored 5, 6, or 7's that I enjoyed also. If a game is interesting to me I will purchase it and make my own mind up about it.

As noted before, GaaS have generally not scored well at launch and mostly improve over time.

That said, ouchie. I'm not sure how much tolerance the gaming audience will have for Anthem and whether it can garner a sufficient audience to keep EA from moving on.

We shall soon see. When it comes to a game's success, reviews can be as useless as discussions on this forums or as useful as legit news.
