I knew it would suck the moment I played the beta/demo.

6/10 is good. Fair, to be precise.

I find it to be really fun, but I do agree it has some significant shortcomings. I hope this game get's the post-release support it desperate needs; more customization, more missions, shorter loading times, etc. But as of right now, it's a fun game.

Also, why no text chat on PC? I didn't know this was a thing with loot shooters, but after Destiny 2 and now Anthem not having any chat feature, it's really upsetting, especially when I can't coordinate with people on the freeroam part of the game "Hey Titan over here guys, come help me kill it"

Good review, regardless its still going to be a fun game to play and mess around with. Hopefully EA brings the perks of Origin Premier to EA Access on Console. Looking forward to playing Anthem over the next few years.

Bioware died after Mass Effect 2. This studio never needed fanboys to defend its titles. They created one masterpiece after another. Now it's a crap studio.

bioware has been dead since like forever. thier games used to be overrated. now they rated just right.

It's not just reviewers though. Nobody was more pissed off about ME: Andromeda than die-hard Mass Effect fans, and based on the gameplay I've seen of Anthem, the game looks like a boring grind-fest that isn't even as good as the other boring grind-fest games on the market.

GS review score is what I expected and they were right about "The main story is incredibly difficult to follow" because it's generic as fucks. Bioware is better at telling good stories these days but they totally blew this one big time. They were clearly focusing on MP aspects more so then the story itself.

Still though, I'm still having fun and already to level 15 with my Ranger and so with that, more shooting to do :)

Yeah. It's the blind hatred towards Bioware and EA that is the sole reason why people are negative towards the game. It has absolutely nothing to do with the game being shit.

Mehh seems a bit harsh imo, would personally give it a 7,5/10 myself with a lot of potential for more!

Agree with most of the negative though, loading times are beyond ridiculous, the hub is dull and makes no sense that you can’t run in it..

A bit funny that the reviewer can’t follow the story though, isn’t excactly a masterpiece but easy enough to follow..

Game is intriguing at times.

I played the EA Origin trial because i liked the demo.

People honestly think these games need a free pass for lack of content? Because they will get better over time? Please, **** off, should of never been released unless it was finished, why other gamers have to suffer with your shitty mindset is strange.

Even from the earliest trailer I felt Anthem was an uninspired piece of crap that only signify Bioware and EA's desperation to get a piece of the looter shooter pie.

EA got its golden goose with Apex Legends, you can basically kiss the other failing major franchises goodbye. You can bet EA is pushing all resources inti capitalising its success and the rest has become red headed unwanted stepchilds EA wish it can abort.

One thing I need to mention this. At some point in the game, you will come to a task that involves the right of passage trails that involves Tombs of trails and the worst part is, you can't progress the story until you have done lots of events and stupid task like 30 melee attacks and the worst part is, it's nothing but fillers and Bioware is trying to keep the community long enough for players keep playing and grinding and that part is going to really pissed off alot of gamers. Bioware needs to fix that.

Not be a deuche, cause I like you, but buying games that are good and finished would be a way better option than hoping for EA/Bioware to fix crap after they've already got your money. Not only did you reward EA for this shit by giving them money, you also made a thread about how good the game is. Tsk tsk..

They're likely not going to "fix" this. How would they? Remove all mundane and grindy tasks and put in original and complex missions instead? Not a chance. They're not gonna redesign the game. They might make it not as crap, if you're lucky.

If only people has this mind set when defending Gamepass and MS's humble bundle collection of games.

I have EA Origin Premier so I never did gave Bioware $60 they so heavenly crave for, I sure wasn't going to pay full price for this game cause it does have it's issues. Bioware look at Activision's Destiny and though they could do the same thing, even before Destiny 2 failure, it was too late for Bioware seeing the problem and after Bungie left Activision, it was clear no one can't ever repeat loot shooters like Destiny and Anthem was caught right in the middle of it.

Yeah I don't expect Bioware fixing the problem but I do enjoy just the gameplay but that's about it.

That's about right. Besides this is just the PC review. Imagine the loading times for consoles.

Holy s### I just watched the loading screen video on YouTube.... More than 3 MINUTES .. That may be the worst I ever saw... It makes the Valhalla death sequence in Too Human seem like Usain Bolt running the 50m dash.

I can say, that the loading screens have only been that long when the game has lost network connectivity. With that said, I amazed that loading is now a huge problem when there are so many highly rated games that suffered from terrible loading but now its a problem. Developers have been pushing out games with terrible load times for decades and gamers/media randomly pick few and far in between games to bitch about loading. We should be bitching about load times ALL the TIME until short load times are standard.

Since I don't hate EA or Bioware, no. Your point is not proven. You can act like it is if it makes you feel better though, I have no problem with that.

Serious question. What loading screen time are we talking about? Are you guys saying it's what, 3 minutes or something? I don't know if this is talking about consoles but on my PC, it takes like between 10/20 seconds to start the gameplay and done with a match. I'm more surprise the most complaints is the loading screen. (I do have 2 SSD install into my PC but I don't know if that helps it or not)

This is the kind of game that would score a 9/10 for 20$ but a 6/10 for 60$. The base gameplay foundation is very good, the rest is lackluster and not well presented.

SSD are way faster in general and not a good measure of general loading times. The loading times are not typically 3 minutes long unless there is network issues which I have experience. Bioware can do a couple of things that can alleviate the load times. Have the Forge and the Expedition perpetually in memory and load either the Fort or the other location while on the victory screen in the background. They can also start loading the moment a expedition is selecting prior to transitioning out to the main load screen, there is at least 5 seconds prior to showing the javelin exit cutscene.

Meanwhile, hearing good buzz about an overlooked game from last year called Strange Brigade.

This is what happens when you tried to copy somebody else and that's Destiny.

Not sure about having a good wifi because the network problems were happening on the same network and each person was wired but ever so often one person would encounter the network loading problem.
