A competitive market is always good, I hope the WiiU is successful as it will make Sony and Microsoft's consoles' better as well, so it reality competition is good for all gamers.DeX2010
What do you think about the competition between Vita and 3DS?
Meaning Nintendo is well on their way to regain monopoly.
I would call it survival of the fittest.

No it won't, with the market that Nintendo is clearly after if the Wii U is successful it wont give Sony and Microsoft the incentive to make better games for gamer's.
A competitive market is only good if that market is aimed at your needs if Nintendo ships millions of Wii U's before the launch of the 720/PS4 and third party games or core games don't sell a 4th of what the gimmick games do then the they won't be competing for the core gamer's such as our selves they will be competing for the same market they have been competing with Nintendo for since the Wii... CASUAL GAMING MARKET!
If Pickmin 3 and Assissins Creed 3 sell more than anything else on the Wii U THEN the competetive market would benefit us the core gamer... Unfortunately if the WiiU succeeds with the casuals then Nintendo Land and Wii Fit U will out sell every core game available and will they be competing for?... Casual gamers. Say good bye to the idea that the "COMPETITIVE MARKET" is somehow going to benefit the core gamer.
Supply and demand governs the direction in which the market will be competiting for, and regardless of what that thing is at the end of the day it comes down to where the money is coming from.
The success of a gaming console is determind by sales and the attach rate to the games and types of games bought for it... agian if Nintendo's WiiU reaches the casual market its not a good thing for US!
[QUOTE="locopatho"]No, hope it succeeds wildly and is able to run PS4/720 games as well, so I can go back to SNES glory days of only needing one console :cool:SuperFlakeman
They will still be inferior downports, most likely with weaker online communities and devs will only port a couple of big names, far from every multiplat.
For me it's all about PC/Nintendo, this way I get all games except Sony and MS 1st party. I couldn't care less about Forza or Halo, but I will definitely miss out on a few great Sony titles.
Then I'll still need multiple consoles. Le sigh :PThe world-wide economy is bad enough, so no. :|gamefan67
Super Sheeps wouldn't want that, fo sho. ;)
I wouldn't want that as a gamer as I love choices.
I will be owning a Wii U for 1st Party titles + 3rd Party exclusives. It reminds me of all the support I provided Nintendo for consoles like I bought my NES, SNES, N64, GC, and Wii at launches. Super Mario Bros, Duck hunt was bada**.

Nope. They are very much needed in this industry for competition.
Even though I don't give a damn about either the Wii nor their upcoming WiiU, I still respect them as a corporation (that actually has some integrity left) and that gambles on risks, and innovation, although Motion Sensing isn't my cup of tea. And they're more like "leaders" rather than bandwagon followers, even though ALL companies tend to be that bandwagon type.

that would defeat the purpose of the controller. The thing was to have a dual screen that would enable new ways to play! XD
But anyway, we have already seen it with the DS and the Wii U will fail. Dual screen is idiotic. =/
heck no and u should be ashamed of yourself for wanting it to fail, my 2 kids are going to grow up playing it and I wont mind checking out a few games on it myself , Nintendo forever, fvck sony, and Microsft xbox is cool, but I will never want Nintendo to fail
No...In fact I will go as far as to say that I even like Nintendo's direction at the moment and what they are doing for gaming. People can piss and moan about how they rely on gimmicks and don't care about the fan base but it sure as hell beats just having three identical consoles, pushing out the same games and fighting all for the same goals.
Nintendo is doing something that no one else would dare do, be different. Many people will argue that different does not always equal good, but just doing the same over and over again with improved graphics isn't good either. Nintendo is pushing the boundaries of gaming further than it has ever been and "Hardcore" gamers get all anal over it and wish death on Nintendo.
Long Live Nintendo...
Lol another cow hoping for nintendo to fail i hate to disappoint you , but that isnt going to happen heres why
mariokart
zelda
super mario
metroid
kirby
donkey kong
fzero
pilot wings
pikmin 3
ssb
alot of these ips are some of the best gaming has if nintendo fails this industry is in deep trouble im sorry but it cant survive on nothing but fpses!
I don't want it to fail, almost nobody wants it to fail, and it won't fail. With some good Nintendo games what looks like a decent 3rd party line-up, the console will sell. Like most people, I'm not expecting huge sales numbers at release, but as soon as Smash Bros or Zelda release, there will be a huge influx in sales. That is guaranteed.
And to people that want the casual market to die with Nintendo, how do games on a console most of you don't own affect your console of choice?

It doesn't defeat the purpose, it just makes it more versatile.
