By the time Crysis 2 is released my PC will be outfitted with a brand spanking new 5450. So yeah I'm getting the 360 version. Might pick up the PC version later.

[QUOTE="Chris_Williams"] ...all the things you guys are attacking me on are about the controls... i can play a fps with my ps3 controller just fine and i don't see anyone else complaining about playing fps's with joysticks.. Chris_Williams

Well, since you mentioned how the gameplay was the same, I figured I'd point out that it wasn't. Oh and you've clearly never played an FPS on PC. Just sayin'.

see this is what i'm talking about, this pc is better than everything mentality, when you play crysis 2 on the pc and i play it on my ps3 at the end of the day we're doing the same thing, playing a videogame. Like i said i use to be a pc gamer and still am from time to time i just use the consoles more.

I agree, this PC gamersuperiority has to stop. I'm sure PCs and consoles can peacefully co-exist. There's no need to jump on a lad just because he chooses to play a video game on something that isn't a computer.

To be fair, the superiority seems to be found in all fanboy groups (except maybe Sheep), so I don't see why one brand should stop over another :?

must not have played an fps on the pc then.

Ah, the old "you must not know better" bit. You can only hide your arrogance for so long, though it's hilarious to watch you try.

that was the only conclusion I could think of, since Mouse and keyboard is a much better controller option for fps games. and I'm not being arrogant.

Well you're right of course but I think PC gamers take it to the brink and beyond. I mean there's only so many times I can hear them bang on about Crysis' mods and how much better BF2 is than BC2 no matter how correct they are. In a nutshell, they look down their noses at console gamers too often.

Maybe they're bitter because they know they're a dying breed.....JOKE, I'm sorry, don't hurt me :P

you still haven't proven me otherwise, only thing your talking about is controls and i don't see what that has to do with gameplay, its not like the keyboard and mouse gives crysis 2 on the pc extra levels or unique guns. i mean you have mods which are pretty cool and i like mods but thats it. but i don't even know why i'm even going back and forth with you, i'm not even that interested in crysis and am only going to rent it

Eh, pretty sure controls are directly relative to gameplay, but if you want to think otherwise... :P Oh and the extra levels and unique guns? ... oh wait, you mentioned mods, never mind.

Fair enough if that's how you feel, but I just figure we get far more superiority from console gamers toward each other - which is really ****ing weird :P

yep, mods which again are pretty awesome and the community comes up with pretty nice levels but ehh, thats not enough to make me go get a rig for or any other pc game. Sure their are games that i would like to play and only can on the pc but ehh screw it, my ps3 and 360 gives me all the enjoyment that i need so theirs no rush.

There is a difference between opinion and fact.

Opinion may have you claim that you prefer playing a joypad (though lack of a gaming PC may bring this about). Fact dictates that the KB and Mouse is a smoother, more customizable and accurate way of playing a shooter, particularly a FPS.

And all it takes is a moment with both control types to understand that. If you have no choice but to play a shooter with a joypad as you would with exclusives or if you have no access to a PC than by all means play it. But neither theuncharted or psn are lying, nor are they giving some subjective view, when they say that the KB and Mouse controller option is better for a shooter. It's a fact.

im probably not going to buy it this year. I will wait for the price to drop and then pick it up for my PS3. Honestly there seem to be alot better games coming out this year that I would prefer to spend 60 dollars on.

This. I'm either going to like the game, or I'm not. A control scheme on a game like an FPS isn't going to be particularly game breaking.

how is it a fact? if i did a poll and ask people what was better mouse or joystick it wouldn't be 100% and theres no way to prove that and also all this is moot as it all comes down to personal preference. This is coming from a guy who use to game on the pc, f.e.a.r, quake, unreal i played it all on the pc and its not like playing on the mouse and keyboard makes you a better player or something, same for the game pad, i can use both and i enjoy both and so do many others. I guarantee all you guys that say its better are primarly pc gamers so of course your going to say its better, i'm a primarly console gamer and yet i'm going to say i don't care what people say what they use, its preference.

Read the post that started this line of discussion:

.... my personal preference is the joystick so no thanks

Chris_Williams
He was quite clearly expressing a preference. You can tell this is the case because of the word "preference" in the post. The discussion wasn't at all about whether the mouse is objectively better.

the more responsive and accurate methods when applied to *anything* are superior.

At this point, this is getting out of hand. everyone should just enjoy this beast of a game when it comes out.

The above post says all it needs to without me iterating on it again. The results of any such poll would be worthless. You would need people like myself, the uncharted and psn to take part in it as we play on PC and consoles (I think we each have multiple consoles at that but I can't speak for everyone) as opposed to people that only play on PC or only on console.

While it looks like they were just horsing around with you a bit, I have no intention of telling someone that they need to upgrade their PC to play a game properly. You are correct in that it is the exact same experience that we will all see through to the end. They are however correct in that the PC version will be easier to use and far more accurate than a gamepad could ever hope to be.

NeonNinja

how is it a fact? if i did a poll and ask people what was better mouse or joystick it wouldn't be 100% and theres no way to prove that and also all this is moot as it all comes down to personal preference.

They are however correct in that the PC version will be easier to use and far more accurate than a gamepad could ever hope to be.

..easier to use? so if i gave my mom a keyboard and mouse she would know how to play automatically because according to you its easier to use? because its a fact that playing on the pc is easier to do that on the gamepad.. according to you... no sir, everything you just wrote was a opinion not a fact. ..why am i even responding back.. i don't even care for crysis, peace

Read the post that started this line of discussion:

.... my personal preference is the joystick so no thanks

Chris_Williams

He was quite clearly expressing a preference. You can tell this is the case because of the word "preference" in the post. The discussion wasn't at all about whether the mouse is objectively better.

I read the post that began it and I read the ones that followed it. It's clear that both users were simply joking around a bit with him.

The post that began it also isn't what matters to me. What matters is that it became a conversation of KB and M versus gamepad and that is what I responded to. Conversations all start someway before evolving into something else.

The fact is neither you or the other guy really understood that they were simply boasting about PC in a lighthearted manner and took this out of proportion.

Except that no one bothered to ask if he had any experience on PC; they went right to assuming he didn't.

if you prefer slower, slight camera movements to 1:1 control than be my guest. :) (smiley to break the tention)

Oh, look, now you've figured out that it's entirely possible to have experience with a mouse and keyboard and yet prefer a gamepad. Too late.

u mad bro? ;)

I am getting Crysis 2 for my PC and my GTX580, but i fully intend on playing the game with my xbox360 controller.

well, for fps's. it's inferior to a controller in other genres, and vice versa.

Yep, there have been quite a few studies and games played with KB+M versus controller, and one always dominated. The one I remember clearly was Halo, a bunch of XBOX magazine guys played against some PC magazine guys from what I remember, it was the PC version, XBOX guys played it a lot, PC guys did not. XBOX guys used controllers, PC guys used KB+M, PC dominated pretty hard. :o

You'd have to know the posters a little more. I knew PSN was having lighthearted fun.
