Really? The only difference between the console vs pc version is going to be visuals....
KB+Mouse makes all the difference in the world for me. I can barely stand playing shooters with dual analog controls.
[QUOTE="BPoole96"]
I'm not saying that a controller is a perfect subsitute for KB/M, but saying "FPS on a console?? EWW!" like its some horrendus experience is blowing things out of proportion. Back in the N64 days with single analog and strafing with the C-Buttons, yes, that was pretty bad. Nowadays there is nothing wrong with console FPS.

I don't know. I've always been a PC gamer, and as such always used m/kb for my FPS controls. This was the first gen I've owned consoles, and I really don't like playing FPSes on them, with the exception of a few good ones like Killzone or Halo. It's just awkward for me, especially given my PC gamer background. So when I joke around about FPSes being a joke on consoles, there's almost an element of truth there for me. :P I personally think TPSes are a much better fit on consoles. Hell, I use my 360 controller when I play some of them on my PC (just finished up a few Lost Planet 2 missions for example).
It may just be awkward since your used to the high precision of KB/M, but for someone like myself who has always used a controller, I can move around and aim pretty well. Even though KB/M is better, if I played an FPS on PC right now I would get my *** handed to me since I'm not as familiar with the controls as I am with a controller. Doesn't mean KB/M is bad, it just means I'm infamiliar with them

[QUOTE="Raymundo_Manuel"]
I think they are. Do you have a problem with that?
Raymundo_Manuel
Yes I do. They aren't a joke and can be played perfectly fine with a controller. If you prefer KB/M, then thats fine, but a controller is not a joke
So you can say they aren't a joke, but I can not say they are a joke?
Double standards.
It is fact that they are not a joke and are perfectly fine for playing all types of games aside from RTS since they aren't enough buttons. Like I said before, not as good as KB/M, but that doesn't mean that are complete garbage and should be disregarded as a menas to playing games.

You're previous post above mine says you're unfamiliar with PC controls, so exactly what are you doing trying to convince me that keyboard/mouse isn't as awesome as I know it is?

When have I stated that it wasn't better?
My point is that controllers aren't a huge step down like they were last gen or especially the N64/PS1 days. Maybe you don't like controllers for FPS because you aren't used to it.

How are they bad if I never have problems aiming or moving around? Never am I playing and think "Omg these analogs suck and I can't play well because of them"
Years from now, when a netbook will max out Crysis 2, I will buy the game for $5 in a steam sale, along with 4 others in a nifty $5 pack. And there I will realize what everyone was talking about in 2011 while I didn't see what all the fuss was about. Until that day, I will play it on my PS3.

How are RTS games bad on a console if you can easily move around with the analog sticks?

Because RTS games require a lot more buttons. I played a few on PC in the late 90s and they wouldn't work. Its also why developers don't really try too hard to make them work on consoles

That's just ridiculous nonsense!It's also a well known personal perferencethat couches and recliners are considerably more comfortable than desk chairs.[QUOTE="Jankarcop"]
KB/M vs Controller is personal perference.
But it's a well known fact that kb/m is considerably more accurate and fast.
Bigboi500
1. thats actually an opinion and personal preference. I find my reclining leather office chair I use to be more comfy than my couch.
2. mouse having more accuracy and speed are not opinions - its factually true.
I honestly can't beleive you put up an opinion to refute a fact - were you trolling?

PC version has mods, dedicated servers and a sandbox editor.I know I was referring to the core game itself though.. it would be largely unchanged.

nope i can use keyboard and mouse and controllers easy i like both...both have advantages and disadvantage's there is no definitive better. can u lay down in ur bed and play crysis with keyboard and mouse ? like i do with 360 controller no i didnt think so lolI just finished playing crysis 2 on pc I can't see why anybody with a choice would want the console version.

The buttons aren't the problem, radial maps can handle that. The problem is actually with fast scrolling and selecting of units. An RTS can be OK on consoles if the game is tweaked properly but a mouse and keyboard will make it better. Consoles are better suited for turn based strategy.Please Log In to post.
