:x The R2 and L2 triggers are just terrible. Why didnt they stick with the Dual Shock 2 norm? Playing killzone 2 with the Ps3 controller made me almost hate the Ps3 itself. The analog sticks are to close together, and everything just felt slow and sluggish. Its to light as well. Anybody else prefer the 360 controller?

Best Controller ever.

The triggers annoy some I guess, but they still work fine. It's not like a crappy Dpad or something.

As a Very Tall Basketball playing Man with some of the largest Hands you'll ever see, I have to say the PS3 controller is fantastic.

We've had over a DECADE to learn the controller, it's great and was voted #1 for years. In fact, the TWIN ANALOG SCHEME we see in console controllers came from The Playstation. If you have been gaming a LONG, LONG time, you would have learned how to use the TWIN ANALOG sticks on the Playstation.

------------------

Sometimes a Playstation FAN will get on these Forums talking about how they HATE the 360 controller, but what I tell them is they have used the same great controller for years, and the 360 actually is great too, just set up differently. They have been gaming a LONG, LONG time, so I can understand their frusteration with the 360's controller, and they complain about having to adapt.

HOWEVER, in this case, we have a young person that is new to PS gaming, and new to gaming in general, and doesn't like the award winning Dual Shock design.

It goes both ways, but both are great controllers.

i like the feel of it, and its light, but im not a fan of the triggers and definately not the placement of the analogs, makes playing fps games a chore for me, they feel so much better with the 360 controller in my hands. I do like the dpad though, even though i never really use it.

Yes. Its to light. I prefer my 360's controller over it any day of the weak. That thing is just so pefect. Perceft weight, fits in my hands perfectly, the triggers are great, and i never use the d-pad, so its all good.

Dualshock 3 is much heavier than the sixaxis and Real Triggers are $5 to fix the triggers.

Personally, I hate the 360 controller.

Yeah I havent had a chance to buy any other games yet since I just got it recently but I hope this is not a sign of things to come. I was aiming for uncharted next so I hope that plays better with the controller. :)

Eh, the layout sucks, but not intolerably so. What's really awful are the convex triggers, which are particularly awful for arcade racers (for a sim racer, any gamepad is awful compared to a good wheel). It's as though no one at Sony had actually ever put their finger on a trigger in real life - hundreds of years of firearms design, but oh no, Sony thinks they have a better idea!

That, and motion controls. I'm thankful that thus far most developers have relegated them to gimmicks or ignored them totally, but I'm not stupid enough to think that won't change eventually.

If you want a "Trigger Shape", those would most definately work, but I don't want to spend money when I'm already bad arse at FPS.

KZ2 has slow controls... anyway. My only complaint are the L2 and R2 "throttles" ... because that is what they feel like, not triggers. Other than that, its perfect. I've loved it since PS1, and I love it still now.

I dont hate it but I do prefer the Xbox controller.. the main fact is that I have big hands and I feel the ps3 controller to be a bit small and less bulky that the xbox one..I also hated the stick the first time I played killzone 2 but you kinda get used to it after a while...

Best Controller ever.

The triggers annoy some I guess, but they still work fine. It's not like a crappy Dpad or something.

SolidTy

I don't understand this, aren't triggers used much more often then the D-pad? Last I checked the D-pad was the least used part of any of my controllers, well, besides the sync button.

Yes, they are, depending on the Developer.

HOWEVER, you are assuming the Triggers are Bad, when they clearly aren't.They are just different.

It's not that I can't cope with it, it's the fact that I am so used to the 360 controller. Once you've held the greatness of the 360 controller, it's hard to go back to a dual shock.

Ah, but I didn't.

It actually was noted as poor by KONAMI, CAPCOM, and SEGA, not to mention the fact that it's actually dropped scores in REVIEWS like.

It actually is a poor dpad.

M$ already admitted it's poor and ACTUALLY REDESIGNED the Dpad, releasing a BRAND NEW 360 controller in Europe for Soccer.

Look at just this ONE EXAMPLE :

BIONIC COMMANDO REARMED PS3

BIONIC COMMANDO REARMED 360 (Bad Dpad, lower score.)

I have both machines (Actually I have TWO 360's and TWO PS3's.)

If you paid attention to all the consoles and HAVE all the consoles, you could have found this out sooner.

By either

1.) Playing a Dpad extensive Game on both Systems

2.) Reading the Numerous reviews at numerous sites talking about the Dpad

3.) Reading about the New 360 Controllers, with new improved DPAD, that was actually made to please the fans.

I see you have both consoles, so you're used to both. Try playing with nothing but a 360 for a while, then go to a friend's house and try to play with a PS3 controller... It's awkward to say the least. And the "baby hands" was me being sarcastic.

I love the ps controller.. I think the ps3 is far better for shooter than the 360 controller.. The grip on the ps3 controller makes me play much better for cod on the ps3 than the 360 version.. While the 360 controller feels as its too big in my hands :(

I don't like how close the analogs are or the feel of triggers which I never use to shoot. I wish they were like the 360 bc I love triggers for shooting. The controller feels too small as well but I get use to it after playing for a while.

Yes there are a few design issues with the PS3 controller. I get cramps using it for too long and I wouldn't even call my hands big. 360 controllers are 100x better.

The same can be said with the PS3 to 360. Listen I dont play that much 360 even though I own one. So my hands dont touch a 360 controller for months. So its werid to put one in my hand after that long, but its takes about all of 10 seconds to get use to it. Same way vice versa. Since there were times I didint touch my PS3 for abit.In the end I still like the DS3 more.

you think that doesnt go both ways?

when i go to a friends house and play xbox, i have difficulty ajusting to the increased resistance on the analog sticks, especially in shooters

that has nothing to do with the quality of the contoller, it's just youve grown acustomed to the xbox controller

everybody bashes the ps3 controller, but it's paper light and doesn't get all sticky like 360 controllers.... at all my lemming friends's houses they make me wash my hands before playing 360,, and every time i touch food while we play 360.... it's so stupid lol, but actually necessary. all their analog sticks are all nasty anyway.

Yeah but most people prefer triggers and change the settings. But like I said in a post before yours, I do not change the settings but it annoys me that I can't use sufficient triggers. So it is still valid argument...
