Best .gif response evar. I have no idea who will win...it would be best for us gamers for both of them to see some success.[QUOTE="Harisemo"]

priced the same yet the vita is superior, wonder when people will stop buying crappy overpirced nintendo hardware.

But that's exactly what fans want. More of the same. It's worked for the past 20 years, why wouldn't it work now?

newsflash, gamers play games, and they buy hardware to play games.
So no matter how powerfull the hardware is , if the games suck no one is going to buy it. PSP was an great example of this-

What I don't get is that VITA is bashed for supposedly getting ports but 3DS gets a pass even though it seems their upcoming titles are ports as well....

Of course. Vita will still be cool though.SaltyMeatballs
THIS is the real answer.
I'm more interested in the 3DS at the moment. The games on the 3DS or any Nintendo handheld for that matter, are always different and very unique from Nintendo's flavors on it's own console.
The VITA on the other hand, from what has been shown and I hope Sony fixes this, is pretty much a PS3 in your hands. I want different games, not the same thing I can get on my PS3.
The problem I see, right now in me not getting either of them is;
3DS - Battery Life needs to be upped and Price Tag needs to be lowered.
Vita - Sony needs to make unique games for the platform.
Whichever is fixed first, I'll get OR, if Nintendo releases Pokemon anytime soon. XD
It will sell better because it's Nintendo, but that won't stop the Vita from having good games. Maybe only a few big name titles but I'm sure it will have excellent games...
Argument doesn't really work when the 3DS is in a similar scenerio to what the PSP was at launch. So far the only 3DS game truly worth owning months after launch, is a 12 year old N64 game. The VITA launch rumors, if even half of them are true, it will have a lot more worthwhile titles it launches with.vita has no games so yes

Exactly. Although I don't think the PSP sucks. The power of the hardware is absolutely useless if there are no games I'm interested in on it. And guess what? There is currently not even a single game I'm interested in.
The Nintendo 3DS is different. I'm not giving Nintendo a free pass - I am not happy with how much of a port Ocarina of Time 3DS really is, but it's pointless to dwell on it for me since Nintendo has so many original first party titles coming out in the future.
Either way I don't wish failure on the PS Vita.
Why are we even trying to make a comparison here? It is most likely the Vita well sell out since it sounds like it Sony was having production problems. Wait a year or so until it is clear that near system is supply constrained.

I have a friend who swears the same thing, hes owned all the nintendo platforms since the original GB and everything. I'm not saying you are the same, but there are definitely PSP games I know he would like, but he uses this mentality to not even give any of them a try. MGS: Peace Walker and Sora No Kiseki (Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky) have been a couple of my favorite games of the last couple years, and both are only playable on PSP (Trails in the Sky is on PC, but not in north america, or in english).

I'm kind of the same way, although, I will admit, if I had the time to play the games or the money, I'd have a PSP as well.

I own a PSP, and I wasn't referring to the PSP itself, but the PS Vita.

Dude. It's logic. Because Nintendo gets a pass for rehashing, and porting. It's "innovative". If sony does it, it's just called a falioure.I wasn't referring to the PSP itself, but the PS Vita.MarioFan264Fair enough, but we barely have footage on most Vita games, so its kind of too early for that. I think Gravity Daze is looking pretty cool so far. The way they implement the touch screen/gyro/etc on LBP makes it look like a whole new game as well.
The 3DS still has few titles months after launch, so I believe its too soon to critisize the Vita months BEFORE launch.
Actually 3DS bad reputation is growing and PSV will be launching at this holidays season so I find it hard for 3DS to outsell a new system launch next holidays.
Kashiwaba
Outside gaming forums Im sure good games could easily overshadow the 3DSs "bad reputation".
A bad rep wont be a holiday hurdle Im sure, but the PSVitas incredible pricing will be.
3DS just gives you brain cancer by the sound of it.mattuk69I guess some people aren't smart enough to know that you can turn the 3D off...
I don't think anybody really can disagree with this. The casual market for instance does not care about graphics that has been proven and the 3d gimmick sells big.
Vita has one good game at launch 3ds in the fall will have its biggest first party games with it and more to come.
Vita will share the same fate as the psp did I fear

3D gimmick sells big? but does it really? where has this been proven before? I'm really curious. Also, VITA definitely has more than one good game at launch, let's not get silly here.

Its launch already looks much better than the 3DS'
There is so far no indication assume it will share the same fate as the PSP, this sounds so ignorant. It added the touch surfaces, gyro, cameras, etc, it uses cartridges, it will get get free download codes of PS3 titles. The PSP has become a large success in Japan in the last couple years, it is far more likely 3rd party supprot for the Vita will destroy what the PSP had and be much closer to the 3DS.
It should, it has a bigger install base by far going into it. As for the games, they also have a head start. I think Vita will hold it's own, especially going into next year when Nintendo does it's usual purging of games and then waiting year (at least) in between releases. Vita will a much better publish schedule.
