I'm honestly not sure if either device will sell all that well, regardless of software library. I just don't think people want to buy $250 dedicated handhelds in the age of smartphones and iPod Touches.
The 3DS and Vita battle will be intense in Japan, where handhelds will always be on top, but in the West both the Vita and 3DS will probably battle for sub-Xbox 360 sales.
[QUOTE="Merex760"]3DS will have a mature library, while Vita will have a launch library. Sony plays catch-up again in the handheld market. NAPK1NSA mature library? What the hell does that even mean? A bunch of Nintendo remakes and nostalgia driven games that are limited to the same genres that the DS was limited to due to lack of 2 analogs and still an outdated online infrastructure. No worries though, GC graphics and annoying 3D.

now just hate like he did or be quiet.

dont forget the virtual console on 3ds...
Fajita doesnt have one ...the last gen psp was sony's first handheld.... it has no handheld libarary like nintendo does.

Not sure where you're going with that. The Vita doesn't need one. They don't need to recharge you for games you've already bought because they've been up on the store to purchase on your PSP for quite some time.
That's an advantage, if you ask me.
you honestly own nintendos catalog of gameboy, gameboy color games? i dont ...and im sure many others dont either...its a huge library to choose from. which is an advantage for nintendo not disadvantage.
also playing them on 3ds is the definitive way to play them.. they look wonderful and bright compared to the gameboy sp...and they have a savestate option ..lets not even try to play them on the original gameboy and gameboy color systems lol...unless the sun lives in your house.
I don't own all of the GB/GBC games, but I was around during that time and I had gotten pretty much all of the GB/GBC games that I needed. If they don't expand to the GBA catalog, then the only game I really plan on getting when (and if) it is released is Pokemon Crystal, because the batteries dying in it and it is my favorite game of that series.
The VC seems like such a great little feature but then you realize "Wait, I've already purchased these games... Why am I doing it again?". The VC would be so much cooler if it had games that never got brought over to America. Like if the Wii U gets a GCN virtual console, and instead of putting Animal Crossing GCN up there, they put up a translated Animal Forest e+ (it would have to be modified in some ways, but I don't need to go into that). That would give so much more incentive to hand over money. But for the exact same game I already purchased? Nah.
It's a great idea for those who weren't around during those eras, I suppose. They get to enjoy classic titles, but for me I have little reason to purchase from it if I already have the title in question.

If he doesn't understand what a term I've never even heard or seen used on SW before means, then he should turn in his gamer card? I understand what you mean, but we'll have to see. I'm kind of doubting that all like 6 of Nintendo's big first party games they announced for this holiday season will make it then, I could see them pushing some back so they don't end up with a drought afterwords. The third party support looks lacking so it may be best to spread them out.
We'll see. The PSP is outselling the 3DS in Japan. Since the Vita and the 3DS are the same price, I expect a closer battle than some might expect.

It could mean that the system's library has matured time-wise therefor packing more software. Or, it could mean that the actual games themselves are mature in their content... which I kind of fail to see, MGS3 and Revelations aside.

Considering the fact that it was compared to Vita's "launch" library, it clearly means the first.

... Would have made a lot more sense to say, "a matured library," in that case. Clarity? We're on a internet forum, darling. Clarity should not be assumed.[QUOTE="Merex760"][QUOTE="NAPK1NS"]A mature library? What the hell does that even mean? 110millionI really hope you know what that means. Nintendo always gets greater third party support on their handhelds than their consoles. 3DS won't change it.

Starfox, Mario Kart, Super Mario, Paper Mario, Kid Icarus, Cave Story 3D and not to mention the continuous updates to the e-Shop up against Uncharted: Golden Abyss and...? All while they're both priced the same.
warmaster670
priced the same yet the vita is superior, wonder when people will stop buying crappy overpirced nintendo hardware.
when Sony produce a handheld that has better games than a Nintendo handheld. hardware is for gaming, not for drooling over specs on a piece of paper. Software wins console wars. Sony need to remember that.Nintendo always gets greater third party support on their handhelds than their consoles. 3DS won't change it.lordlorsYeah, that is true. I got a DS like 2 years after launch, so I had a lot of catch up to do, but OOT 3DS made me jump in early. :P
[QUOTE="110million"]Its launch already looks much better than the 3DS'AvatarMan96Who said that the announced games are launch titles? For all we know, the Vita launch could look like the 3DS one Yup we all thought the 3DS would have a stellar launch with all the games that were announced....and it didn't
duh no body does handheld gaming better then nintnedo it wouldnt suprise me if ds and 3ds splat vita as ds and 3ds are doing to psp now lol
Well it will have a better line up,which is ok for any system that arrives after another, but crushing na.. Also i don't know how well the Vita will sell, but in last NPD the 3DS sold 97,000 units that is an all time low for Nintendo i think, the handheld is not selling well anywhere, maybe they are having a sony moment now,the PS3 price was to high, just like the 3DS one is to high.Starfox, Mario Kart, Super Mario, Paper Mario, Kid Icarus, Cave Story 3D and not to mention the continuous updates to the e-Shop up against Uncharted: Golden Abyss and...? All while they're both priced the same.

But that's exactly what fans want. More of the same. It's worked for the past 20 years, why wouldn't it work now?

What I don't get is that VITA is bashed for supposedly getting ports but 3DS gets a pass even though it seems their upcoming titles are ports as well....
Dude. It's logic. Because Nintendo gets a pass for rehashing, and porting. It's "innovative". If sony does it, it's just called a falioure.Umm no, the ports so far are enhanced.
