I expect both to be at the top of a short list of games that can actually win GOTY with the general gaming media sites. I don't see very many people in Gamespot's offices that are big MGS fans so that is almost going to ensure that it won't get GOTY. They all sit in a room and decide , so it becomes a popularity contest of sorts.

Both Maxis and Blizzard have gotten GOTY in the past, and Blizzard has gotten it 3 times.

I have a feeling that any big budget game coming out this year has a shot a winning goty 08....... But ofp2 will be my goty.

Also Rogue entertainment is better then any dev ever.

Its far to early to tell,

At this time last year the talk was if it would be Halo 3 or Uncharted that would walk away with the GOTY crown.

Till we have the games in our hands, who knows?
