Geez, I'm sick of all these rumors going around saying crysis will come to consoles. Have you people seen the game? Because once you see it you will see that there is no way a console would be able to run it.

Actually no, Doom is set inside with only small corridors, no open ended environments like crysis, ram, is the main reason why it cant be done but the cpu and gpu are not ideal ether.

crysis can come to to console you just have to keep graphics to low, make levels much smaller, remove physics and destructible envoirments but rest of the things can be kept samenaval

Soo basically everything that makes crysis visually and technically good has to be taken out. Not to mention the gameplay being changed to go with the small levels. This is exactly why it shouldn't come to consoles. it wont look or play anything like the REAL crysis.

physics isn't the problem, the cell can do all the physics with no problem. The ONLY problem is RAM RAM and more RAM.

And the get around that is to have area loadings ala Oblivian and do it with overlaping loading areas. Reduce texture size and quality down to medium, reduce distance quality. Then you have a game that still runs and looks good on consoles.

Now, I do know how crysis looks since I run it mostly on high only shadow quality reduce to medium. ANd I also know that the entire first map takes up alittle over 710mb of ram on that setting.

I've played out Crysis, i'm looking forward to FarCry 2. To all you console wanting crysis people GET A LIFE AND GET A HIGH END PC. Fin!Citizen_Zero

Reduce shaders down to medium or low also. A 7800GT varient (RSX) ain't enough to put anything on "high". They would probably have to fake the res too. 500p?

Then again, I have a theory that 90% of the Crysis worshipping fanboys haven't seen the game either. At least, not the way the developers intended it to be played, on MAX settings.

Instead they all see pics of the game running maxed out, and just believe that is what they are seeing on their PC. Yet we've all seen screen shots people took of Crysis on their PC to claim how awesome it looks and can't be done on consoles....they look no better than what we see on consoles as they have all the settings turned right down to run on their PC.

PS3 has only been out for a year, you guys honestly think its already been maxed out? With really talented dev's i bet its possible. Silenthps

Assasins Creed could be done on alot lower requirments than what those reccomendations give, it jsut prooves that obsolutely no effort was put into optimizing the port ...

3 GB ram for assasins creed? Either the area loaded at one time must be an insane amount larger then in the console versions... Or Ubisoft where simply paid by microsoft/Sony for making those stupid system requirements.. I guess the later.

This may sound strange coming from a hermit, but Farcry 2 seems to be just as heavy as Crysis, and it's coming to the 360, I believe.

Think about that.
I think it means that Crytek sucks, which they do for making such a rip off ending.

BTW your statement and posting that you have very limited tech knowledge. Ubisoft making an unoptimized port isn't the same as the consoles not having the hardware to run crysis. When you can please tell me another pc game that recommends 3gigs of ram and has a minimum of 2? Not even crysis does that and it looks LOAD better than Assasins creed and has alot more physics,detail etc etc

I didn't say crysis can't go on console I said crysis like graphics can't be done on consoles. The vid card in PS3 and 360s are about the equvilent of a 7800 Nvidia Video card. On high settings do you know that video card cannot play crysis? Unless you want to take screenshots. Not only that but RAM limitations also hold consoles back. You can get it on medium but not high or very high.

3000 barrels exploding was a person playing around with crysis and map editors I think.

first of all PC can't handle 3000 barrels exploding lol, i know that because i own crysis and i have 8800GTX with q6600 and 2gb of ram and i even made a video fo exploding barrels lol you use video editing to make it look smooth.

2nd of all Crysis can be done on any console even Wii just downgraded version of it, no one said PS3 Crysis will look like PC crysis on highest setting, there is aboslutly no way that can be done hell my PC runs that game with everything set max with 25 frames lol, but a downgraded a version of Crysis can be done on PS3

when i was making that video i was running the game at 5 frames and thats like 300-1000 barrels not even close to 3000 barrels!

but i can do 3000 barrels exploding probably 1 frame lol and than using video editing i can make it look good/smooth! but i got a life to some extend!

If the company wants to make money making computer games then it needs to produce them for the leading consoles.

Simple as that really. Shouldn't be too hard like most people have said, lower the resolution to 720p and take out all the unnessassary fluff.

That is true to some extent. There has to be some sort of direction to the game. If there wasnt then the game would never finish. But I do agree that Farcry2 looks to be doing an actual non linear game much like STALKER did but on even a bigger scale.

I understand the Irony perfectly, but Assasins Creed has nothing on Crysis, we dont even know what the PC version of Assasins creed looks like.

Clearly the further Irony is lost on you, what makes you think a port of the most powerful PC game ... the only game out there that cannot be maxed while optmized on 8800's Duo Cores (better than 360/Cell) and 3-4 GB RAM will magically have less requirments when ported onto a console?
