Anyone who switched from 360 to a PS3 regret it?

I've been an Xbox guy since the origianl. I skipped the PS2 and PS3 all together. Anyway, I've been thinking about getting a PS3 latley. I can't really afford both systems, nor do I have the time for two, so I would sell or trade my 360. M$ has been pissing me off latley with their live price increase, and their lack of good games on the horizon. My wireless adapter has been acting up also, and I don't feel like shelling out $90 for a new one. I do prefer the Xbox controller, but could get used the the dual shock.

My question is for those that have made the switch, do you regret switching, or have you never looked back? I hear about lag on PSN, but then others say that it isn't any worse than Xbox live. I could care less about cross game chat, and the whole friends list, so that is not a factor for me. Is the update system really as bad as some say on the PS3? Some of the exclusive games on the PS3 really interest me, and I was wondering do people still play games like Resistance 2, or killzone online?

My live account runs out in December, so if I do switch, I would be looking for a good black friday deal on a PS3. Not looking to start a stupid thread here, just looking for some good answers form people who have switched, or own both systems.

I wouldn't advice to switch consoles. It's always better to save up and buy whatever else you are interested into IMO.

BUT I guess if you're not pleased with the 360 and they way its future is showing, you can always do the switch expecting the better.

PS3 is not a bad console at all.

Switching from 360 to Ps3 or vice versa is kinda pointless. Both consoles are so similar that if one isnt satifying you, its doubtful the other one will.

I brought an Xbox first and a PS3 a year later. I wish my brought a PS3 first its a far better console has much better games and free online. There is no reason for people to be paying to play online its pathetic. I can also connect my PS3 to my PC and watch movies etc. Xbox 360 is the worst console ive ever brought.

No I am a cow and I switched to PS3, it was the best day of my life, better than the date of my marriage, the birth of my children, the day I graduated college, etc. Also with the $50 I saved on XBOX Live I played Powerball and won the grand $50 million prize. All this and more thanks to my Lord and Savior Sony.

it was supposed to be a joke with some suttle under-tones of truth to it, but all the under-tones of truth that it might have held for sony fans all belong to xbox360 fans now lol. but It was just a thought, it don't really matterz.

As an owner of both its sounds to me as if your leaning towards getting a PS3 so i say go for it. I Was in the same situation as you, was Xbox last gen and was a 360 only gamer for years.

You dont care for cross game chat so that makes your decision easier as both LIVE and PSN offer the same basic online gameplay.

PS3 definitely has the better range of quality exclusives so if you care little for Halo or Gears then that makes it easier again.

I think the 360 controller is superior because of the triggers and analog stick placement but that isnt to say the dualshock isnt great because it is, will just take some time to adjust if youve never used one before.

Its about the games, so look at what is coming on both consoles, what is already released and compare, PS3 does do better in the exclusives so i would switch if your not happy with the 360.

I can do without Halo and Gears. I bought Reach, and the campaign is good, but the Multi Player sux in my opinion. I guess I got hooked on the COD series. I hate the whole voting system in reach, and the maps arent' very good in my opinion. Gears I can do without. I don't like the Multiplayer on that, and I thought the campaign in Gears was better than Gears 2.

Some pretty good answers though, thanx for the info, and keep it coming.

I went with what I felt was best, and bought a PS3, have not regretted it once, though my friends still bother me about not having one and no Halo.
And I bother them about having to pay 3 times as much and having no games.

As simple as that, really.

I traded my 360 in over a year ago for my PS3 and it was the best game decision I've ever made. The 360 is a waste of money and the PS3 is the console of my choice easily. Therefore to answer your question...Hell No, I do not regret it one bithkymike
