What is the point of this? There's no PC version. Stealth Durango build? lol

Thanks for letting everyone know Epic that Gears in 60FPS is visually superior to what we are currently playing on consoles.

Lol no.rjdofu

I know the game won't be 60fps. But the video is definitely showing the game in 60fps. Motion blur is intact... But no AA...

Maybe this is PC footage at "console settings"?

Bullvideo. There's no way a console could pull that off in real time.

They're putting in a new 4 player coop campaign, class based multiplayer, Overrun (a combination of Horde and Beast), and I'm not sure if they announced what they're doing with regular horde and beast yet.

Did they speed the gameplay up? Everything looks... less tankish. I kind of like it. Still gots nothing on Vanquish, though.

Master_ShakeXXX

It's a side effect of running the game in 60hz

Like playing Call of Duty with Gears gaphics.

Cut that framerate in half and it will probably be moving like Gears 3.

"Running in 60 fps" and "Constant 60 fps" are not the same thing, and besides, this is all multiplayer footage where there's a limited amount of characters running around. No AI enemies, no huge explosions, basically not a lot for a CPU to compute/GPU to display. Multiplayer is usually less stressful than a single-player campaign and/or NPC character interaction.

Yeah. But that one only had 60fps cutscenes. Gameplay dropped to 30fps.

Nah, I'm talking about gameplay footage running at 60fps, not just cut scenes.

Edit: However, the game ran at 30fps.

which one is 60 frames? I downloaded the one that has the biggest file size and the frame-rate fluctuates between 23-30 frames... Uncharted has much more stable frame-rate than that BTW.

edit: Sorry the video is indeed 60 frames. It was that I had Frame Correction turned on and it forced the frame-rate to run at steady 24 frames for movies.

Play a game that is running at 60FPS and another game that is running at 30FPS, you'll notice the difference. If you don't notice, you're just ignorant. Not a bad thing, you can learn and see the difference.

i know the point of your OP was to say essentially that you didn't think that could have been output from a 360 ... even so, i think that looks like a lot of fun. the semi-automatic sniper rifle looked intense.

wow, you are wrong in so many ways. although single player may call for more complex processes, multiplayer requires a data connection and complex graphics simulations all at once. in other words, multiplayer is harder on a machine. that's why multiplayer always looks worse than single player...

what does the a high bitrate have to do with the fps the video is encoded at? if anything ur just reinforcing my point since with a high bitrate i can see the image more clearly and better notice the unstable fps.

it's ok stinger we all know you are right. quake 1 multiplayer you could do it on a 56k modem. how much more data are they putting through now for multiplayer? lol it wouldn't even be 10x that.

how much more powerful have graphics cards and stuff got in that time? way more powerful.

plus it all depends on what the goal is. if the goal is 30fps single player, 60fps multiplayer, then they simply work backwards from that. you dont need to see the wrinkles on marcus' forehead in multiplayer now, do you?

I don't. You started your tirade with "wow, you are wrong in so many ways" against my #1 man with a plan - Stinger78. You were the one initially condescending.

I don't attack you, I discuss the evidence regarding previous bandwidth limitations to network play, modern limitations to network play, the increase in power through GPU developments, and graphical goals/necessities when comparing and single player modes.

I welcome any criticism you have against my rationale.

Console games are made on PC remember? of course it will be 30fps on Xbox 360.

Remember when one of the UC3 videos was 60fps and caused a stir?
