[QUOTE="cakeorrdeath"][QUOTE="Terami"]I've seen some negative press but none of it was with the tone I see here, if that makes sense. I agree, and I wouldn't speak for everyone, just the people I know who want one. Some of them have 360's as well and we've played on XBL together, so yeah, similar tastes... sainraja

[QUOTE="Ericvon71"][QUOTE="Yellow_Rose"]...so let me get this straight boys.
In North America (the biggest gaming market) Sony "shipped" 1 million PS3's in 6 weeks with 300k of those units still on the store shelves as we speak because the games and the system itself did not live up to the hype. LINK
In Japan (Sony's home turf), the almighty PS3 sold 550k units, even though Sony has claimed today they "shipped" 1 million units again because the games and the system itself hasn't lined up to the hype. LINK
Knowing this and the fact that almost every gaming and mainstream press outlet has pretty much crowned PS3 one of the biggest duds of 2006, you guys still insist the europe will still flock to it?
That means you must think Europeans don't watch television, do go on the internet, don't read press reports don't see comparative video, and all around enjoy Sony themselves treating them as second-forbidden>Yellow_Rose
^^^Um....yes it really has something to do about what you think. You think because the PS3 is doing mediocre in US, and JPN means that it will not do well in the UK. Sir you have been influenced by the media.

And you are being influenced by past events. The PS3 may be a smash in the UK, who knows? I do know this, the performance of the PS3 in other markets may not be proof of how it will sell in the UK, but it is by no means a worthless indicator. How much do you think the US and Japan share culturally besides baseball? Different cultures, languages, religion, cuisine, architecture, yet they are reacting similarly towards the PS3. How is it so irrational to think this could happen in the UK, which is so much more similar to the US than Japan is?
Well they certainly do watch TV, go on the internet, read press reports, etc. And they come across things like this when they do:

Do YOU read press reports and scan internet news articles, or do you simply sit on the Gamespot forums all day and post arguments like this?

Influenced by past events??? what the hell are you talking about. I was merely indicating that he thinks the PS3 will have the same mediocre results like in the US and Japan. It's clear that he's an X-Box fan. The PS3 will do well in my opinion. The TC does not need to let the Media influence his outake of the PS3. On the real, I'm a little jealous that Europe countries get their choice from 30 Ps3 games to chose from when it launches.I think he simply sits on the GameSpot forums....Well they certainly do watch TV, go on the internet, read press reports, etc. And they come across things like this when they do:
