Since I'm the only user in SW that said April would be close, allow me to share some data points.
Firstly, the PS4 crushed the Xbone in March. Not some kind of small margin of victory that the Xbone chiseled a win out of but a curb stomping.
Secondly, I say that not to throw sand in the faces of the Lems but rather to illustrate the point that there was clearly a run on PS4 the previous month. A software driven and unsustainable bump.
Thirdly, the MCC bundle was released in March 10th. Considering Halo's pull as Xbox's biggest franchise, it is significant when it has the spotlight to itself.
Fourth, and probably the most important point, March and April are typically slow months. If people went ahead and bought either/or console for a game ala BB, you can definitely bet the next month will be abnormally low.

MS didn't "deserve" a "victory" in April so much as pull in new buyers enticed by the after-effect of the holiday rush on the console that was supposed to be a limited time price reduction. (lols). For what it's worth, though, the XBone has found something resembling its market equilibrium and has without a doubt put some pressure on Sony in the US market to drop its price. I concede that the full rubber-band effect from Bloodborne will also flush out in May and PS4 will be back on top. Albeit, a close victory. When I say close, I mean both selling sub 200k and being largely negligible in the grand scheme of things.
2 cents for whomever wants to read all that. I've had a good track record for divining these things, though admittedly, I thought PS4 would eek out a small victory in April. Kudos to the Xbone on that.
