@zeldabotw2: I agree with you on Horizon Zero Dawn and Ghosts of Tsushima. Spiderman not so much. I liked God of War and I respect the developers because they took the series in an entirely different direction and were still successful despite people's doubts. It was risky and could've flopped big time imo
Spiderman was great but I do put Ghost of Tsushima and horizon zero dawn above it. Spiderman 2 knowing insomanic will likely be a lot better than the first game but it was still a really really good. Only 1 of 2 games to ever make me cry, good soundtrack and combat is similar to the amazing batman Arkham games.
My copy of BotW is still sealed so can't comment on the quality, but Mario Odyssey definitely doesn't deserve those scores. The hat novelty wears off quickly, and while the mechanics are polished the game is waaaaaaay too easy, the maps too small, and moon hiding spots for the most part uninspired. I've never played a 3D Mario game prior to this one so maybe they're all like that, but I was unimpressed.
Also, jaggies. Those should have died with the previous millennium, why is Nintendo still forgoing Anti-Aliasing 20 years later?
The game can be brutal if you go for all 999 moons.
Super Mario Odyssey was all about doing those trick jumps. And as much fun as I had manipulating classical Mechanics in BotW, it was ultimately something I had done before in Dwarf Fortress.
Do both deserve their scores, I would say so. Both of them are all time classics, that will be remembered for years to come.
Fanboys or Girls should not be allowed to review games if they are fan of the franchise and gaming review websites need to change how they review games not have just one person review it but at least 4, fan of franchise and rest that prefer only fps games rpg or whatever just different taste in gaming
I don't even think this is a hot take, but since the Wii, not a single Nintendo game is worth its score. GC was the last Nintendo console with scores that weren't overrated. Its not something sheep want to hear, but this is the reality we live in.
No to both. Zelda is legit, first good 3D Zelda game. But it's still got plenty of issues you could take it to task for, and Odyssey definitely has issues.
I would still take them over the absolute garbage that gets gassed up on this forum between the western triple A side, to whatever the **** is being offered from Sony n Microsoft first party.
