Are people really that excited for another Killzone?

Of course. KZ3 is one of the best FPSs of all timethemajormayor

I hope the multiplayer is more like Killzone 2 and less like Killzone 3.

I enjoy them, so I suppose I am.

i would probably play through another one.

i don't care about the mp but it has an ok story except for them not knowing how to write a villian so they jusy plug in generic guys with british accents.

I think people are excited about the graphics in particular and the cows are looking forward to making bajillions of threads about those graphics.

I'm very excited for Killzone, Battlefield 4, Infamous, etc on PS4. 

I'm not, KZ3 campaign was painfully boring and the MP maps weren't that great.

It was the closest to portraying how games on the PS4 can be, which is why it gets so much attention. It was a good showpiece, but Kz in itself?

Killzone had alot of great ideas, you can see and feel how they playied with the idea of questioning good and evil, dictators, cause and effect.

But ultimately they chickened out. KZ COULD have been a really good game, where (storywise) you would question if those you fight for erally are that good (in a way that is not just mentioned in passing but never really touched upon). To have this threatening dictator and Hellish legion of troops of his, who were charismatic who you could identify with and atleast understand.

But GG NEver made that manifest. Although it has a really good potential backdrop/story and universe, it was driven into a direction which mirrored almost any other game. Which pretty much leaves gameplay, which is average (meaning that it is not good, and not bad).

We know too little to know if the new KZ would be worthwhile, but 2 and were disspointments to say the least. If the world, and characters are uninterresting, then gamplay has to hold up the game alone, for that to work it must be EXCEPTIONAL gameplay, it was not. Well it had good MP though ^^

IMO Killzone not only looks great but also PLAYS great. Calling it mediocre like its a fact is making you look dumb TC

The only Killzone I'm excited for it Mercenary, and that's only because it's set to be the first truly great handheld FPS. As for as KZ4 goes, meh. Much more excited for other PS4 launch titles. The big first party one being Knack.

Man, it's sickening how bad a rep Killzone gets.  I know why it does, because no one thinks, but it's still annoying.  The single player is ****'ing brilliant. 

The first Killzone at the time had unmatched gunplay (it still holds up on the trilogy) and so does Killzone 3.  These games are single player focused, they have perfect pacing, they push the graphics envelope, it doesn't take itself seriously (writing and characters are over the top, done so it's so bad it's good) - let's get one thing straight, that's what shooting games should do.  You don't want to be told the origin of the universe when you're blasting everything sky high - they are NOT Multiplayer focused, they just shoveled that in for you CoD nuts out there.  Halo and Gears were the only good variety in MP this generation anyways.

Also, it seems like most people only played Killzone 2, if they played any.  Killzone 2 actually does suck, as a game, but it was mostly there as the Ps3's graphical showcase anyways.  And a foundation for Guerrilla.

I can't wait for Killzone 4, I just hope my head doesn't explode from the showcase.

I'm a cow and the Killzone franchise has never appealed to me at all. Sony really needs to go back to the drawing board and come up with a new sci-fi based FPS. There's so many directions they could go in.

Killzone 2 was actualy pretty good, and i like how Shadow Fall is looking! I'm curious to watch more of it.

Nope, after Killzone 3 I think I am done with the Killzone games for good. If I want to play a game that prioritizes graphics more than gameplay I will play Crysis, since that has better graphics and gameplay than Killzone

kz was notoriously average. if you removed ps2/xbox gen, the averages would be closer. guerrilla games wasn't good until ps3 gen. i like halo a lot thoug (more than kz), but it's clear ps2 kz1 is pulling down the average big time. it is intellectually dishonest to hold ggs rough first outing against themselves, as this gen is the only time i even bothered to like kz.

Nope, after Killzone 3 I think I am done with the Killzone games for good. If I want to play a game that prioritizes graphics more than gameplay I will play Crysis, since that has better graphics and gameplay than Killzone

graphics? absolutely on pc, but gameplay? that's subjective. i find crysis pretty run of the mill along with other fps and the mp is pretty dull. in comparison halo, team fortress, and kz's mp I find more engaging.

If both was an option I would have added it. I dont understand whats so complicated about the question. Im personally not a fan of Killzone so I would rather have a new IP. Im sure some people really enjoy Killzone so they would prefer another Killzone trilogy. You are making this way more complicating than it needs to be.

Killzone 2 and 3 both sold over 2 million copies. That is hardly no one.

 I use to LOVE HALO But the fact Halo ODST got a 83 is all you need to know Truth is Halo hasnt had a legit great game since Halo 2 Micro$oft pays for Halo's good scores. Make what ever you will of that, but i know how this industry works Ans nor do I rely on other peoples opinions like you do either! I have actually played both, Killzone has top notch gun play mechanics. Some of the best of this gen While Halo has archiac, old-dinasour like gun play mechanics (no visual kick back or feeback, auto aim, no iron sights etc) Halo has failed to evolve with the times, the fact it keeps getting great scores is all the grounds you need to disregard them Killzone is the much better and more modern FPS, and its not even close The only thing Halo has on Killzone is more marketing, which unfortunately it has led to dupes like you being brainwashed into believing that Halo is the second coming or something lolepicgameplayer

i enjoyed kz2/3, but didn't like the first game. it seems to me, they are fine going with more kz at least for launch. sony will bring the new ips too though.

i would say that a new ip would probably take longer to dev, so it wouldnt be a launch game, so i would rather have kz to ahve somthing good to play online until more games come along.

launch games aren't usually something I enjoy for too long, but i can see myself getting more time in a next gen kz launch game until other sweet games come out.

Halo 3 was a $60 this gen retail game. it was an overpriced expansion, true, but it still happened 360ps3 gen.
