Do tell wich of these games are "shovelware",or else don´t bother posting nonsense. I want to hear wich ones are shovelware,do tell.
Plenty aren´t MMO and RTS,we have from racing to FPS´s,from TPS´s to space simulations, from RPG´s to even survival horror(like Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs that I forgot to mention,so many games they are),from Mech combat to TBS,and those aren´t even the extent of what PC gaming is getting,so please,it´s not even close.
And games that don´t require internet connection? On the top of my head there´s Fall of the Samurai,X-Rebirth,Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion,Torchlight 2,Dead State,GTR-3,Arma 3,etc.
I see the only way you have to try and downplay the massive PC upcoming games is to merely say,oh,"they´re RTS or MMO,so they don´t count",or "is it online only?". So,not only there´s plenty of variety across genres for upcoming PC games but quite a few of them don´t require internet connection,so your point is moot. Some do,some don´t,and at this day and age, using internet connection as an excuse is quite simply pathetic, the PC was always very strong in the online component of it´s games,so no surprise there.
Let´s play that game the other way around now, shall we? How many of the upcoming console games are shooters or racing games? Now exclude those and see the huge dent it makes on their libraries(off goes Halo,Gears,Resistance,Killzone,Forza,GT,Starhawk,Uncharted and other big franchises lol),it works both ways,so next time you want to downplay something about the PC and specific genres, remember that the same can be made for the consoles as well, and yet you don´t usually see PC gamers saying that shooters or racing games don´t count for consoles, unlike some haters like you try to do with the PC,that alone shows that in order to compete you have to use arguments to make some stuff not count, because if you don´t the difference us massive, and there´s no other way to look at it otherwise.
And you want to know what I played yesterday? DayZ,an experience like no other in the gaming world and only possible on the PC,it´so good that not only boosted Arma 2 sales by a ton but it´s already gonna get an official release when Arma 3 comes out.
Also, can´t get story driven games on the PC anymore? Must be the reason why games like Cryostasis and To the Moon won best story award here on GS on their respective years and why the huge majority of adventure games with actuall good stories are PC only, nice dreamland you´re living on I see.

First off let's get something straight.
Everything "counts" in system wars.
I'm not interested in MMO's because they tend to hijack your life, I've probably spent more hours on MMO's than every console I've ever owned. So when I say Pandara? I'm not getting it. Because I'd like to keep what social life I have left, get enough sleep and not reorganize my life around raids.
So if it's a Mechwarrior MMO, Warcraft MMO, Fallout MMO, Korean MMO, Planetside MMO, Guild Wars MMO, the answer is categorically no.
Looking at the Adrian Werner PC games list is honestly a little bit scary. PC is the platform equivalent of an open-world game that's so huge that you don't know where to go or what road to take, totally unscripted and sandbox, you can get lost for days reading about mods and researching character builds.
Consoles by contrast are amusement parks, where everything is organized neatly into 30 minute rides, and a big arrow says "GO IN HERE AND PRESS X TO SEE SOMETHING COOL." The entertainment is compressed, pre-cooked and served for mass consumption by working adults.
That being said, I've never met an adult PC gamer who wasn't dysfunctional, didn't live with their parents, getting food stamps, or had major responsibilities like kids, a mortgage, a wife, and a career. I'm sure they exist, but I've never seen them.
By contrast I've met MANY adult console gamers who do their workouts on WiiFit or Kinect, play a little CoD, watch a Netflix movie and go to sleep, to juggle challenging careers and family life.
Generally I just think consoles are a healthier lifestyle option, with the side benefit of being able to choose your OS.
Where it concerns "the games" I think console titles like Halo, Uncharted, Gears, Heavy Rain, God of War etc are much more CONDENSED and pack more entertainment into smaller units of time.
PC games like Diablo, WoW, Civilization, Flight Sim, Starcraft etc, these are games that people tend to play for years or decades, you don't get that "BAM!" 30 minute dose to brighten your day before going to the office.
It's incorrect to say I'm a PC hater.
I love it enough to be afraid of it for my health, sanity and long-term happiness.
I don't think PC gamers really respect just how hardcore of a hobby PC gaming is, how ridiculously involved it is, how much time is spent researching, reading, picking mods, how deeply involved you become in the characters and communities and building the perfect rig.
Tired now, write more later.
