I wonder if some of us have picked ourselves up from the fight to ponder if being a console owner next generation will even be worth it... It seems that PC will quickly if not immediately outpace the consoles... the new console features are fluff for the most part... "share" button  and voice controls  etc...

You have from now till holiday season to ponder this, but the real question is this... If the consoles strangle consumers, offer little performance advantage, charge out the nose for everything and bitch slap you for letting your friend borrow a game... do you have the balls to JUST GO PC...?

After seeing the Xbox one reveal, how the Wii U is doing, and how Sony has been bent to the life support of companies and gamers, It seems people were right about consoles having one gen left

This would be the hang up for me as well, but lets say you're completely offended by the actions the companies make... would be strong enough to abstain from them in solidarity to a consumer based gaming future...?

PS4/Wii U/3DS/PC, winning combo next gen baby
Yes. PC for multiplats, 3DS for my Nintendo fix, Vita if I start missing Sony games too much, if Wii U and PS4 turn out to be crap.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.. I'm not fond of whatever Microsoft is doing. Not even sure what their plan is, but I think I would still end up buying the system down the line when it has more games. It's tough. Where do I draw the line? I really don't know.

I can see people moving over. Consoles don't know their market and audience, they are a mess. They are becoming a thing of the past. Hell, casuals are content with gaming on their smartphones and tablets (lol), so the room of core gamers is getting less populated on consoles which could kill consoles completely.

The console industry is bigger than it has ever been. Just because a couple forumites are overreacting to the horid X1 doesn't mean that the console industry is dying ;)

I've been playing PC for years so that won't change, the question for me is "Will I bother to own either of the new consoles at all?. I can say for damn sure that I'm not feeling too excited about either of them but one looks at least promising.

You bring up a good point... What are ANY OF THEM doing at this point... PS4 certainly seems to be presented as the most gamercentric console, but there is SOOOOO much we don't know. I dont subscribe to the idea that MS wont make quality games for the XO, despite the other focus's they seem to have... I think my "line" would be in letting a friend borrow my games... if they get charged, I dont think I can buy the console... I've been thinking about it since the launch and I just don't think I can watch this hobby turn further into corporate fat cat shit on my dime...

..it's funny. With all the debating about used games and always online. The PC has been structured like that since way back when.. Do I want to jump into a platform that already has DRM modules compared to some that might.. hmmm.

I dont like sitting on a computer chair hunched over a desktop for any longer than 1hr so no its not an option for me.

If I could afford a setup that would allow me to play comfortably from my sofa then perhaps I would consider it, but then a setup like that seems less practical for other functions like using microsoft word (which I prefer to be close and hunched over).

I like my games and my computer seperated basically, I think this is because my computer is where I work perhaps.

PC gaming has been doing that for years, lol. But atleast some stores/companies stick to DRM-free(like GOG and most indies). We might not even have that with Microsoft.

But yes if Xbox One/PS4 turn out to be a bunch of **** then I'll buy a Wii U at some point for the Nintendo exclusives and use PC for the rest.

This is true, however with a pricing model such as modern pc gaming, I find myself actually buying games for my friends more than anything... Not being able to share a 5$ game and paying 35$ to activate a borrowed game dont fall under the same umbrella for me... ya know?

Consoles are just good for an "extra" gaming system to me.

I already play most games on the PC, but I've also owned many of the consoles as well. I still play my Xbox 360 pretty frequently, and I probably will succumb to buying one of the new consoles at some point.

So far I already like what I see with the PS4, however I am already a PC gamer, though I mostly use it to play strategy and simulation games.  It does have the horsepower for next gen games if the PS4 turns out terrible as well.

No, because PC has the same problems that I'm against with these new consoles. If anything I'll be a Wii U gamer next gen, as sad as that is.

Haha, I've only gotten into PC gaming in the past two years really. Pretty great though, gotta love the ability to pump up the graphics and mod your games endlessly.

Already set with my PC. If Sony thinks they can start pulling the same shit MS is then they will be blacklisted as well. If they were smart they would capitalize on what MS is doing and do some smear campaigns to inform consumers how much MS is abusing them

Time to lose my posting virginity...I've only ever played Xbox 360. Only played a couple of games on the PC (with an xbox controller). For me it'd be weird to fully switch to either PC or the new xbox. Not sure how I feel about all that haha.

Still waiting on more info on the PS4. Both Sony and Microsoft have been far too vague on some of the more questionable issues. So yeah E3 will seal the deal for me on whether I get a PS4 or not. Will be picking up a Wii U when Zelda, Project X and whatnot start dropping through. Though if all things fail I'll be plenty busy and backlogged with handhelds and PC.
