Arena of Fate new game by Crytek PC,PS4,Xbox

Crytek announced a new game called Arena of Fate coming to PC and consoles which seem to be a MOBA style game like DOTA, LoL, etc

Crytek, the studio best known for games like Crysis and Ryse: Son of Rome, has announced a multiplayer online battle arena game for PC and consoles. Arena of Fate is being developed by Crytek Black Sea (formerly Black Sea Studios), the developer that previously worked on games such as Knights of Honor and Worldshift.

Classic characters, fictional and historical, are placed in an arena against one another in a game similar to other MOBAs like League of Legends and Dota 2.

“Imagine Joan of Arc and Robin Hood cooperating to hunt down Little Red Riding Hood,” managing director of Crytek Black Sea and game director of Arena of Fate Vesselin Handjiev stated. “Wouldn’t that be terrific? But besides the game’s iconic heroes, which everyone in the team really loves, we are also challenging ourselves to carefully craft a streamlined player experience that allows for both greater accessibility, and rich, deep, action-packed gameplay.”

Sounds like a meh game to me but hey im open to see more of it ( assuming it will be fully revealed at @E3)

Its Crytek, they make good graphics but shitty games ( at least the ones i played ) so is why i said it seem like a meh game :P

That's the reason most of their games get talked about.

I guess companies have a license to ripoff the MOBA genre. God knows Valve did it.

That said, let's se how it will turn out for the consoles. It's already a shitty genre, can't get any worse there.

Looks like another Crytek Masterpiece. Some of the best developers out there, who made incredible games like Crysis 2 and Far Cry.

Wow a lot of haters of Crytek in here, personally I think they have a great graphics engine and hit or miss games. Crysis and Crysis Warhead were great, 2 and 3 were meh, and Ryse was meh. I still believe they have the potential to bring us good games, lets see how this turns out!

Also, I also see a lot of MOBA haters in here...MOBA's can be really boring or really unique, just like a good FPS. For example, Medal of Honor was boring (IMO) and was just another FPS, that's like any generic MOBA that exists. DoTA2 and LoL are like the CoD and BF of the MOBA universe, and then there are games like Smite and Heroes of The Storm, which are MOBA's with their own unique charm. Not every MOBA released is "just another MOBA", I dislike games like LoL and DoTA but I was blown away by Smite and how much different it feels. Keep an open mind!

Ofcourse not, consolites don't want or like competitive skill based games. You want your 4.0 scoring movie game Ryse clones.

Hoping they make this a third person shooter meets moba like Super Monday Night Combat.

They never made anything worth actually playing. All they do is make pretty graphix, all their games are stale and boring as hell.

MOBA's suck.

Don't really see the point of making a MOBA. Dota 2 and LoL have the genre locked down and you have Smite if you want something a bit different. Unless this is doing something majorly different it'll fail miserably.

They run the market yes and no.

The number of tablet users or rather gamers is still very small compared to PC gamers or console gamers. Yet the market is expanding really fast.

So some developers would be interested in developing games for that. Shame really, because the input methods for smartphones and tablets are very limited. Very, very, very limited. I don't care if a game looks great like Infinity blade when the gameplay is so shallow.

Don't care what GPU or power they cram in those things when there is not a single game out there that convinces me to start gaming on a tablet or smartphone.

Yeah, I'm not really happy with the performance 'next gen' consoles are offering either. But on the other hand, Sony couldn't have gone for 599 again. It would've been a disaster.

We are just the start of the gen and Watch_dogs already showcases the massive difference between PC and consoles. The strongest console, PS4 can't even hold up against a mid-end PC GPU. As that offers better performance, higher res and higher settings than a PS4 does.

And that's just the start. From here on out the differences will grow even larger...

I haven't played those but I can imagine it: buttons replaced by touch icons. I played GTA SA on iPhone once and the controls made me cringe. This wasn't the SA I played that controlled smoothly on PC or consoles... But then again a lot of older games don't have camera controls and those were my main issues with SA.

I'm interested in all of them. I'm interested in multiplats, I'm interested in PC exclusive and I'm interested in console exclusives.

But so far, the best games have been multiplats (and PC exclusives) and they run better on PC, so I see no reason yet to get either a Xbone or PS4.

I got a Wii U because it already has some interesting exclusives.
