You guys spend the last 3 and half years complaining about sub-1080p. They upgrade the hardware so its 1080p (usually 1440p+, which is, really, the sweet spot right now for most "serious" PC gamers), and now we get to look forward to the next 3 years of complaining that it's sub-4k, is that right? Can't wait until 2020 and all the "lolconsoles" "can't even hit 8k"
So were you one of the Xbox fans that was trashing the PS4 Pro for it's 4K claims? Because developers could dial back games to hit 4K there too. It was wrong when Sony claimed the PS4 Pro was a 4K console and it's just as shady now. The difference is the Lem Army that has been on the "True 4K" hype train. Many of us knew that was b.s. but now it's out there in black and white. So now the Lem Army is on the, "watch the interview" damage control I see. I knew this would be the case the whole time. 99% of Xbox fans on this board (and your boy DealerGaming ;P) were saying different.
I don't see how it is BS when Forza 7 is 4k/60 and Battlefront 2 is said by the devs to be 4k/60 whereas the Pro isn't hitting that, its "dynamic". What about that isn't true 4k?
LMAO damage control. So you state in this thread you are stating facts, and when facts are posted in reply, it is factual that MS has never mandated devs to use the power for resolution but it can do 4k, you cant handle it. LOL
OK, so by your logic the PS4 Pro is "true 4K" too then, right? It can do 4K... So is this only a Microsoft vs Sony thing, like 4K only matters when Pro isn't, or just as long as the resolution is higher than Pro, we're good?
I can handle it just fine. You know I like Xbox! I've been called a closet Lem for a damn decade. I'm just not used to the Lem brand of flip flopping. I was good and used to the Cows doing it, but shits up and changed on me and I'm trying to get my bearings.
We have seen a few games that hit native 4k on Pro and I never questioned it. I own the console. Using the "true 4K" moniker is their answer to Sony using "Dynamic 4K". Are you new to the idea that companies do things like this?
You're not used to the Lem brand of flip flopping? How many 180s have been done since X1's reveal in 2013, dude? Where have you been? LOL
The Xbox One X is the most powerful console ever made. It's not only the 6Tflop GPU but the huge amount of Ram that makes this machine so powerful. So it's not going to hit some games at 4k all the time but its going to hit most of them. Sony really should have put in more ram in the PS4 pro for faster loading times and better textures.
This games engine is rubbish, has always been rubbish since day 1. Still I love this game on pc, it looks good enough and I don't mind the wavy frame-rate as the games mostly about having fun with friends.
@goldenelementxl: Microsoft has said this is a true 4K console and backed up that claim with nearly 100% of the games they showcased at E3 running at native 4K .. Ark is also a game that can clearly run at native 4K on Xbox One X but the developers have chosen to opt for 60fps instead.. Considering the fact that Microsoft has stated repeatedly that developers can decide the performance goals of their games, what was the point of your post beyond the obvious downplaying of the One X's capabilities?.. I mean, are you saying that you DON'T think Ark could run at 4K/30fps when so many other games can?..
Just stop this "aww shucks guys, I'm just trying to temper expectations" crap because no one is buying it.. From DAY ONE, you were one of the people saying Xbox One X couldn't do 4K native for current gen games.. DF does an analysis that says Microsoft's flagship racing game is doing 4K/60fps with extra room to spare for enhanced graphics and you call into question their credibility as tech journalists.. Now E3 rolls along and basically every game shown at Microsoft's show, of every type and genre, is running native 4K on Xbox One X and you choose to herald the ONE developer that opted to target 60fps rather than 4K resolution as a shining example that the Xbox One X isn't the "true 4K" console that Microsoft promised?.. Please..
Just stop dude, your credibility on this forum has suffered enough.. Try and salvage what you have left and stop this nonsense..
@Antwan3K: I'll bite. I don't think ARK can run 4K/30 on Xbox One X. Based off of what I've read, this game is apparently a notorious PC killer. Per one benchmark video I just watched, it runs at about 15fps on a GTX 1080 in 4K (albeit with max settings).
I don't disagree with your point that most games will probably run in 4K, but I don't believe the choice for 1080p/60 was merely because the developer chose to focus on frame rate.
@NFJSupreme: I would rather put it toward a PC and get much better performance and graphical fidelity compared to xbox X where i get access to thousands of more games, millions of mods, and free online rather than a closed off corporate box from Microsoft that puts out games I am the least interested in compared to Sony, nintendo, and PC, a console that will last 2-3 years before upgrade or if sony makes a stronger machine, with a controller i generally dislike, and PC is simply better so if I had $500 to drop, it certainly wouldn't be on an Xbox one X
I have the same GPU set up as you for my PC but here where I differ from you. I'm thinking about my living room not just oh i have a powerful PC i'm good. I am upgrading to a 4k TV this year. If I wasn't upgrading this year I would be upgrading to one next year. My TV is an old 1080p sony and it's time. I'm going to need 4k content for my living room set up. Since nothing is really broadcast in 4k the only consistent 4k content are video games and blu-ray. X1X covers both of this. Also I when I'm playing games on my tv i want something as close as possible to my PC experience. X1X covers this. If my only source of media consumption was from my desktop i'd be on board with your thinking. Just upgrade my PC. But it's not. I have a living room with TV surround sound. I like to use it. So for me a PSpro or X1X is a must. Since I already have the slim and the pro doesn't have 4k blu ray or does games in native 4k i'm going with the X1X. I will still have my PC (although to be honest lately all I play are blizzard games so who knows when i'll need to upgrade from my 1060) but to shell out 500 to not really improve my set up seems redundant.
@SakusEnvoy: Bingo! That's a far better and less crazy way to say what I was trying to say. It's not like it's 4K 30 or 1080p 60. 4K is a monster to run.
Instead of targeting 30FPS like on the other consoles, we’re targeting 60FPS for the Xbox One X. I would say most of the time for PS4 Pro you would be seeing 30FPS on PS4 Pro at 1080P, whereas with the Xbox One X you’re going to see double the frame rate at 1080P, 60FPS. We might even allow the frame rate to go higher than 60 FPS, but we’re still looking into that. Right now it’s actually uncapped but on a TV it’s not that useful [because they’re locked to 60Hz].
Previously on PS4 Pro, we had the option to choose between frame rate (720P@60FPS) and resolution (1080P@30). We removed it because it’s a better experience for the users now.
Because ours is a multiplayer game, the complexity on the screen can be very unpredictable. Variable resolution is something we introduced this year to try and stabilize the frame rate on lower PCs and consoles so that when people go into a huge base and someone’s got a hundred dinosaurs, the resolution scales down but the frame rate stays smooth.
We’re not targeting 4K resolution or anything like that, instead we’re targeting higher quality pixels.
Another game landing on GTX 1070 class GPU for X1X as per DF's Scorpio reveal.
So the developer confirms that the Pro is inferior hardware and will get the crap version.
Got it!
Hahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa......
The game was terribly optimized even on PC there is no doubt scorpio will run better but the whole 1070GTX angle is a joke,in fact the PS4 Pro version does 1080p 30 while the 1070GTX does 34? Yeah right and Scorpio faster than Titan...hahahaha
I wonder if they got as much money for hyping scorpio as Brad Wardell did for hyping DX12...lol
While each generation of video card struggles to gain substantial performance over the previous generation, here, the same hardware will suddenly see a doubling of performance.
XBox One is the biggest beneficiary; it effectively gives every Xbox One owner a new GPU that is twice as fast as the old one.

Don't you mean another game beating a titan and a 1080TGX on scorpio?
Hahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa oh look the 1070GTX does only 4 more frames than the Pro,and the PS4 beat the RX480 and the 1060GTX damn the PS4 Pro is powerfu...
Hahahahaa
Ill wait for your usual damage control and spin, last time a developer make some claims about power about the xbox one they never materialized and all was a charade.

I believe it when i see it,last developer riding MS shit was totally wrong and falsely claim the xbox one was getting a GPU twice as fast with DX12,and no he wasn't talking about his game he was talking in general and aches of Singularity is not on xbox one or PS4.

you're entitled to your opinion and you may be right.. still, an exception =/= the rule.. beyond that, we already knew there would be some games that may not hit the native 4K mark.. If you have a GTX 1080 and Ark cant hit 4K with 30fps does that mean the GTX 1080 isn't as powerful as advertised?..
But be ready for shit every time the console misses native 4K. And it's not just ARK. Assassins Creed is also sub 4K
see my post above.. just because a few outliers don't hit that mark doesn't mean the Xbox One X isn't as powerful as advertised, particularly at launch.. and yes, everyone here knows that cows will cling to every single game that doesn't hit native 4K as some indication of the One X's weakness, while ignoring the potentially 96% of other games that do hit the mark.. so?.. that only serves to illustrate their ignorance, fanboyism, and butthurt.. I take it that you'll be one of those people?..
It's hilarious seeing Sony fans say "We have seen a few games run native 4K on the Pro."

@goldenelementxl: I thought about bringing the same thing up, but I thought someone would do it eventually. I guess checkerboarding and upscaling ain't such a terrible thing for a console to do.

Those who don't learn history are doom to repeat it.
Any one who believe those people deserve to be taken by MS.
No doubt its badly optimized but comparing the PS4 Pro to PC with Epic settings is just cheating.
PS4 Pro in detail mode doesn't just drop below 30fps, it falls through the floor in places making game hard to play.
As you well know from the same video, the high setting is a closer representation and it shows the xb1x much closer to a 1070, just like the DEVELOPER says.
Try being honest in future, it would help your credibility.

I like that they choose to do this over 4k which I am in no rush to upgrade to... but this dev need to talk about how they going to fix their shitty vr rendering I mean come on modders has taking old games like doom who engine isn't made for vr and have it looking great while they r using UE4 which has vr rendering pipeline built in and their game still looks like crap and plays even worse
But be ready for shit every time the console misses native 4K. And it's not just ARK. Assassins Creed is also sub 4K
to be fair to the OneX Ark runs like shit on my 1080ti I just stop playing it. and ubisoft uses checker board rendering for just about all their games starting with rainbow six even on the pc as a way to maintain a steady framerate. I was going to buy a OneX but without an Halo demo to show to my gf I have to pass on it for now I can't win that argument with her on that :'-(
@NFJSupreme: a console that will last 2-3 years before upgrade or if sony makes a stronger machine, with a controller i generally dislike, and PC is simply better so if I had $500 to drop, it certainly wouldn't be on an Xbox one X
Original xbox primary lifespan, 4 years, 360, 2005-the One coming out in 2013, except 360 continued to get major releases after that and still gets some games.
X1, released 4 years ago, and still receiving full software support.
So, no, X1X will not "last 2-3 years" before upgrade. MS is being very lenient with forced upgrades to keep receiving major AAAs. No X1 user has to get a 1X anytime soon to keep playing all the same games.
Dislike the X1 controller? Universally recognized as the best console controller, and the most used by PC players. Elite controller, probably the greatest of all time.
MS already stated devs can do what they want with the power. If they want to make a 480p game with 360 fps. Then that's their perogative. If 4k just confuses you just realize that xbox one x is just a more capable machine than Ps4 pro or any other console. That's all you need to take away from it really.
I would love to see what a computer cost that could run this game at a locked 60FPS @1080P. I be you money it will cost more then $500. This game is not very well optimized and is a huge resource hog. You Sony fanboys are being absolutely stupid about how Microsoft said ALL games will run at 4K which they NEVER said. They have always said that the developers can do whatever they want with the power of the system.
@NeonicTrash: That's nice if other people like the controller, i do not. I had a 360 for almost 10 years now and I just do not like the Xbone controller. Tough $hit
That engine needs help! You mean to tell me that with all the resources of the system, they only managed to get it to run at 1080p? A GTX 1070 and 16GB of ram at only 1080?

Xbox One X has no competition.
Already quite a few that aren't native and the worlds most powerful console isn't even out yet and it's ALREADY under delivering.

How can you blame the console for the decisions of the developer?
I could understand if they had first party games that werent 4k, but its up to the developer to choose what is best for their game.....no?

Yes and the One X matches it in performance again.
So weird
There must be something wrong with your game where the max it can do on a 1070 is 1080p.

Maybe but on Forza 7 4k/60fps which is the most optimized game (according to Cows) The One X out does the precious 1070 and even the 1080.
If you're someone who doesn't own any gaming platform, the X1X might be the best option for you provided the Sony Exclusives doesn't tempt you. If I didn't have anything, I'd probably go for a PS4PRO since you can play everything and have a library of quality exclusives.

In short, there is NO single GPU that can achieve running games in 4K/60fps, no not just yet, but the 1080ti I consider it to be a contender that we are getting very close seeing GPU can however run 4K/60fps in just a few more years when the technology is least more advance enough to see one. GTX 1080 wasn't design to max out 4K in anyways, but the 1080ti however almost can.
I was always told my GTX 1070 can play games in 4K but since I only have 1440p monitor, I cannot say it can however.
I think X will do fine on it's own and it's not like this is a start of a next-gen console anyways, this console is for those who want the best console experience gaming and have nothing to do with PC gaming. That's it!
How can you blame the console for the decisions of the developer?
I could understand if they had first party games that werent 4k, but its up to the developer to choose what is best for their game.....no?
So you will continue to hold to the same hypocrite excuse you lemmings are a joke.
The only reason those games feature Checkerboard and Dynamic resolution is because the the XBO X can't hold 4k at the settings they are delivering,is not a choice of the developer to screw up the XBO X version alone, the Pro has the same feature for a reason if it could hit native 4k it would not need checkerboard or dynamic resolution.
Come one now the only reason first party games are 4k is because what MS has shown until now is highly unimpressive, running Forza in 4k or Gears which were built on xbox one is not something great.
This pathetic view that developers are using Dynamic res or checkerboard because they want to and MS doesn't is a total joke and show how blind and soft you are when MS is the one using those power saving features, when the pro was using them you people could not stop calling it half assed or weak.
The hypocrisy of lemmings know no limits, but i am sure you would not notice the difference from Pro to Scorpio because well you people play from 20 foots away from your TV remember? That is how you never saw the gap between the PS4 vs xbox one,so if i were you i wold not even mind it,you seat to far from your TV to see any difference.
@kuu2 said:

NO by the benchmark i posted the Pro basically match a 1070 and Scorpio surpass a 1080GTX and a Titan..
That fu** up this game is on PC.
Oh that without saying that Rare claim to have receive xbox one X dev kits just last month, yet already a 3rd party knows the dev kit enough to claim 50% gaps and claim it match a 1070GTX on their totally broken game.
