I am pretty sure a PC with 1070 can run Ark much higher than 1080p at 60 fps. I would say 1440p and 60 fps easily. So i kinda dont see any parity in that.

@Antwan3K: I'll bite. I don't think ARK can run 4K/30 on Xbox One X. Based off of what I've read, this game is apparently a notorious PC killer. Per one benchmark video I just watched, it runs at about 15fps on a GTX 1080 in 4K (albeit with max settings).
I don't disagree with your point that most games will probably run in 4K, but I don't believe the choice for 1080p/60 was merely because the developer chose to focus on frame rate.
you're entitled to your opinion and you may be right.. still, an exception =/= the rule.. beyond that, we already knew there would be some games that may not hit the native 4K mark.. If you have a GTX 1080 and Ark cant hit 4K with 30fps does that mean the GTX 1080 isn't as powerful as advertised?..
In short, there is NO single GPU that can achieve running games in 4K/60fps, no not just yet, but the 1080ti I consider it to be a contender that we are getting very close seeing GPU can however run 4K/60fps in just a few more years when the technology is least more advance enough to see one. GTX 1080 wasn't design to max out 4K in anyways, but the 1080ti however almost can.
I was always told my GTX 1070 can play games in 4K but since I only have 1440p monitor, I cannot say it can however.
I think X will do fine on it's own and it's not like this is a start of a next-gen console anyways, this console is for those who want the best console experience gaming and have nothing to do with PC gaming. That's it!
In terms of the Xbox One X, Microsoft said:
* It will be the most powerful console to date
* Microsoft 1st party titles will run at native 4K
* AAA quality, current-gen games will be capable of native 4K resolutions
* 3rd party developers can choose how they want to use the hardware power (higher framerates, higher graphical settings, etc) and 4K resolution isn't mandated
as a result of what we've seen at E3:
* it's obvious the Xbox One X is more powerful than the PS4 Pro
* Forza 7, Sea of Thieves, State of Decay 2, and Crackdown 3 were all said to be native 4K with Gears of War 4, Forza Horizon 3, and Halo Wars 2 receiving 4K updates
* Games like Battlefront II, Call of Duty: WWII, LOTR: Shadow of War, and others are said to be native 4K
* In some cases, developers are choosing 60 fps over 30 fps and/or going for the equivalent of Max PC settings instead of going for native 4K (something that many people on this very forum claim they would prefer)..
So, at no point did anyone say that all games will be native 4K/60fps.. And yes, I agree, the Xbox One X will do fine as a console for gamers that want the best console experience
Still disagree. From what I have seen, it's 30 fps if you use epic quality settings. I doubt that either PS4 pro or XboneX will use epic quality settings in the first place. I don't have this game, but I guess epic quality suggests it's even higher than ultra quality. So if you play aroind with those settings, I am pretty sure you can achieve 60 fps with 1070 and 1440 p resolution. Using the highest settings in a game, doesn't actually mean a good performance scaling. Sometimes it's better to knock off settings a bit in order to get the best ratio performance/quality.
@Antwan3K: Microsoft has said this is a true 4K console and backed up that claim with nearly 100% of the games they showcased at E3 running at native 4K
That's BS since most of the games Microsoft showcased were confirmed to be running on PC. So until we actually see them running on the xbxxoxx i would suggest not to believe Microsoft's PR which more often than not ends up being BS.
As someone that has like 75 days played in Ark, the game is craptacularly optimized. Everyone knows this.
Dont get me wrong I had a lot of fun playing it, but taking what an Ark dev says about anything is lol.
The game is a troll sandbox and their crappy optimization is part of the fun :P.

Would you stop already. They were. I played the games at E3 on Xbox One X. All the games they announced that had playable versions where on scorpio dev kits on the floor, including Crackdown 3. They had rows of them lineup up. And what he said was true. MS said all MS exclusives would be native 4K. They said everything else is up to the devs.
You cows are seriously having Xbox anxiety attacks. Just admit the machine is the best console already.
Xbox One X is a better machine than the Pro. By a lot. Thats all that needs to be said.
@oflow: I know it will be better but not by a lot. Most games will be practically the same between the Pro and the xxboxxxx, sharing checkerboard 4k and 30fps. You Xbox fanboys have been overpromising and overhyping this thing for a year, aren't you tired of being wrong and letting yourselves being misguided by Microsoft's bullshit PR?
@oflow: another thing FYI, development kits are actually more powerful than the commercial consoles. Eurogamer had already confirmed that Scorpio's dev kit is significantly more powerful than Scorpio so whatever you witnessed it was most likely enhanced version. Just a heads up as to why you should not jump head on Microsoft's PR.

LOL. If the devkit is significantly more powerful than the Xbox One X then the Xbox One X is significantly more powerful than the Pro. :)
@pinkanimal: lol you're the only one here fanboying and in denial talking about PR and fake news. Xbox fans havent overpromised anything we dont work for MS and we knew as much about the console as you did how could we overpromise anything? The gist of all your comments since the X1X announce is "U MAD"
MS hasnt lied about anything. And the difference between the Pro and the X is not that small. But the proof will be in the pudding so lets let the games do the talking, so you can stop mouthfrothing. You're only here mad now because the Ark devs said the X1X shits on the Pro. Argue technical semantics all you want, thats the gist of his comments.
"Most games will be practically the same...." lol remember when Xbox One fans said this about PS4 and the X1 and how you cows reacted? Welcome to being on the weak end of the stick for the rest of the gen.
The only person here thats obviously bitter is YOU. lawl
Answer this question: Is the Xbox One X the most powerful console in the world? Yes or No.
Thats the only answer that counts.
If it really matters that much to your self esteem, just talk about how your gaming rig is better anyway. At least thats being honest.
And for clarities' sake, some of the games on the show floor were running on both PCs and Scorpio devkits but they looked exactly the same. The reason they did this is because MS had a PC section in their show for Play Anywhere and since Play Anywhere titles are also on PC they had versions for PC players to try on PC. But again they looked and played EXACTLY THE SAME.
@oflow: lol keep overhyping that crap, I'm just going to laugh when the actual results come in. You're right on one thing though, what matters are the games. Notice how Sony's first party games on E3 all looked miles better than Microsoft's? Well, that's a sign of things to come ;)
@pinkanimal: cry moar plz. Every other post on this forum is some cow talking about Xbox trying to make anything negative stick.
Cows can spin it how you want MS always said from day one it was up to the devs except on MS titles. That's fact. And no matter what it is it'll still be better on Xbox.
All the signs to me point to Sony having more of the same boring third person games with the same tropes and mechanics. If that's what you like that's cool. Maybe you can post about those instead of hating on Xbox at every opportunity?
@oflow: All the signs to me point to Sony having more of the same boring third person games with the same tropes and mechanics.
LMFAO! Spoken like a true ignorant
1080p "60fps"
60 fps is going to be a target, watch it not even be close to stable. Ark is very GPU demanding, much more than CPU.

LOL. If the devkit is significantly more powerful than the Xbox One X then the Xbox One X is significantly more powerful than the Pro. :)
The dev kit is only 600 Gigaflops more capable than the consumer console, and the reason for this is for development scaling so they can target something higher and scale to the consumer model.
Those 4 disabled compute units in the consumer model are for yields and are simply enabled in devkits.

http://www.tweaktown.com/news/57990/ark-dev-xbox-one-horsepower-phenomenal/index.html
Studio Wildcard's Jesse Rapczak was recently on the E3 2017 Live Show with Geoff Keighley, where he said that they're aiming for 60FPS on Xbox One X, and that 60FPS was "not possible" on the PS4 Pro. PS4 Pro users can run 60FPS, but only at 720p where we'll see ARK running at 1080p 60FPS on close to Epic settings on Xbox One X.
During the interview, Rapczak said: "It's amazing. It's basically like Epic settings on PC, we're targeting 60FPS. We recently introduced variable frame rate, but on Xbox One X with the extra horsepower, you'll notice less variation in your frame rate even in busy situations".
Rapczak added: ":The PS4 Pro also has improved frame rate when compared to PS4. Before the XB1X, it was the best console version of ARK, but it's hard to argue with that 6 teraflops [laughs]. Having the same frame rate in our game isn't really possible, there are a couple reasons for that: the XB1X not only has a faster CPU than PS4 Pro, it also has a lot more RAM. I'd say there's a 50% performance difference".
When it comes to the Xbox One X, his comments build hype: "The Xbox One X is great. Everything from the devkits is so much easier to develop for. It's faster in all sorts of ways, especially for us developers it's easier to iterate. In terms of horsepower, it's just phenomenal, it is expensive but when you think about the price for a similarly specced PC, it doesn't unreasonable at all to me. Overall, the quality is going up a lot. It would have been easy to say, hey, let's just take the Xbox One version and crank up the resolution, but actually we've brought over some enhanced effects from PC. We've actually got volumetric lighting and clouds on Xbox One X, higher draw distance that is equal to PC's Epic settings, higher resolution textures...".

How can you blame the console for the decisions of the developer?
I could understand if they had first party games that werent 4k, but its up to the developer to choose what is best for their game.....no?
So you will continue to hold to the same hypocrite excuse you lemmings are a joke.
The only reason those games feature Checkerboard and Dynamic resolution is because the the XBO X can't hold 4k at the settings they are delivering,is not a choice of the developer to screw up the XBO X version alone, the Pro has the same feature for a reason if it could hit native 4k it would not need checkerboard or dynamic resolution.
Come one now the only reason first party games are 4k is because what MS has shown until now is highly unimpressive, running Forza in 4k or Gears which were built on xbox one is not something great.
This pathetic view that developers are using Dynamic res or checkerboard because they want to and MS doesn't is a total joke and show how blind and soft you are when MS is the one using those power saving features, when the pro was using them you people could not stop calling it half assed or weak.
The hypocrisy of lemmings know no limits, but i am sure you would not notice the difference from Pro to Scorpio because well you people play from 20 foots away from your TV remember? That is how you never saw the gap between the PS4 vs xbox one,so if i were you i wold not even mind it,you seat to far from your TV to see any difference.
Yes and the One X matches it in performance again.
So weird
NO by the benchmark i posted the Pro basically match a 1070 and Scorpio surpass a 1080GTX and a Titan..
That fu** up this game is on PC.
Oh that without saying that Rare claim to have receive xbox one X dev kits just last month, yet already a 3rd party knows the dev kit enough to claim 50% gaps and claim it match a 1070GTX on their totally broken game.
At high settings and 1080p, RX-470 has 30 fps minimum and 34 fps average.... it sounds like PS4 Pro's result.
Unreal Engine 4 usually hammers AMD GPUs and this is UE4 open world.
Now understand yet another UE4 based game Scalebound's performance problems on XBO.
Yet another UE4 based game Tekken 7 hammers PS4 Pro with similar result to RX-470.
