Can't wait to see the new cast of characters that are being introduced for this sequel, but was really hoping for some sort of trailer for this game.
Sequel to the best game of 2009? Sure, I'll play it.jg4xchampGo play Demon's Souls
and Uncharted 2 was better, yeah I said it :P
Eh, Uncharted 2 was a good game, I'll never deny that, but it sort of ran out of steam for me, on more than a few occasions.
Right around the point I ended up first fighting those Yeti creatures and climbing up an endless giant-ass column thing for the umpteenth time, I just sort of had an epiphany, and realised that most of the game revolves around pretty colors.
It's like, yes, Uncharted, I realise that you are very attractive but do we really have to climb yet another giant ****ing statue and have the camera turn around in interesting, visually striking ways, again?
Overall though, yeah, it's a good game, it just isn't as tight as Arkham Asylum, which is to say that I was bored during Uncharted on more than a few occasions, but not at all during Batman, with the Killer Croc segment being the only exception, literally.
As for Demon's Souls... yeah, I'll get around it. It sounds like it's right up my alley.

Hmm did you play Assassin's Creed 2 or did you just end up saying "lol Ubisoft" ?Reeeeeeeeeally bad name.aaronmullanNot really.. Arkham was more or less smashed to **** and they put all the nuts in the worse part of the city walled it up and left them there.
Word. From how far I played the boss battles were incredibly disappointing.

P.S. I just rediculously hated every boss battle the game provided. They were just far too dull. The stealth stuff was cool though.jg4xchamp
That second one.
I'm basically done with Ubisoft, maybe forever; they took it too far when they ****ed up Splinter cell.
I feel like they went with Arkham City to keep "Arkham" in the title so casuals would know this is a direct sequel to the first one. Some people can't grasp that sequels don't always have a "2" in the title.

See you just saw footage to see how bad it got. I suffered playing it. SO so so disappointing. I was willing to accept the action route, thinking hmm maybe it'll be a nice blend of both as I'd like that. Nope they sucked in both areas.I knew it would be called that way.:)

that's what i like about Uncharted 2. it's not always about the fights and the shooting. at least it has platforming and puzzles, those quiet moments of isolation and (to an extent) exploration and discovery. and i like it that it got difficult at the last few chapters. it was getting so easy to just shoot humans. :D
anyways, both Uncharted 2 and Batman had very disappointing final bosses. i didn't even break a sweat during the Joker fight. and in Uncharted i just had to go around in circles and shoot those blue thing over and over. psh. oh yes, the Killer Croc segment. that was more than disappointing. it wouldve been better to just make The Riddler and answer tricky questions. bah.
what i didnt really like about Batman was the detective mode, not only is it too overpowered, but i cant enjoy the view of the game if i had to switch between detective mode and normal mode all the time to search for Riddler clues, or just a breakable wall or something. i kinda didn't like it. there should be a battery like the solid eye in MGS4. and then in-between every chapter you can recharge it by going back to the Batcave.
and with Uncharted 2, i didn't like that there were a small number of weapons. wouldve been better if Drake had a knife. and the melee was simplified. i mean, it was easier to use melee, but the melee combo and the stuff that you can do was so limited. they took out the light attack and strong attack wtf.
I'm one of those miracle creatures who hasn't played the first one yet. I'm not crazy enough about the Batman universe and while I'm interested in the game, there is something about the gameplay that isn't calling me much--the combat and stealth seem a bit shallow to me. Perhaps I'm really missing out on some gem or something like everyone seems to be telling me. If I catch it on some killer Steam prices I may get it.
It's a prison like city? huh? Batman nerds need to explain this to me :Pjg4xchamp
I'm not even a Batman nerd but I did read a book once called Batman: No Man's Land which looks a little similar to what Arkham City may be doing.
Gotham City was decimated by an earthquake and the U.S. Govt. deemed it "No Man's Land" and shut off the city from the rest of the world by blowing up the bridges accessing Gotham. There was no real way in or out. It basically became Gotham Island or Arkham City if you will, and was run by the criminals. Joker and Two-Face were the most prominent that I recall. There were other like Bane and Penguin and Ivy and Luthor but I don't recall the impact on the story they had as it has been about 10 years since I read it. Anyway, there was no law there was just anarchy and chaos. One of the very first scenes I read with Joker in it had him bashing some guys head in with a baseball bat and then he later kidnapped a bunch of babies and was going to kill them but he was stopped. Not before he was able to kill some other people though.
I can't imagine the storyline for No Man's Land will be what they use in the game but from the trailer I saw and the name they are using it looks similar in idea at least.
Can check Wiki for details on the story http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/No_Man%27s_Land_%28comics%29
BatmanBatmanBatman still under wraps, then?
Don't like the name. I preferred "Siege of Gotham" and "Ashes of Gotham" out of those names they were spitballing earlier.
PS3 version has the exclusive Joker content. No technical issues I'm aware of.
And you haven't already bought this game???? :o :o :o I mean we're only talking about the greatest Batman game ever created, In fact the greatest comic book game of all time. Of all time!!! This is the new benchmark for video adaptations of pulp heroes.
Now rectify this grievous oversight. IMMEDIATELY!!

Cant wait, loved the first one. That picture with batman and catwoman makes me wonder if catwoman will play more of a role than just a villain.
What's wrong with the name? They swap Asylum with City and suddenly it's awful? Why?
Not a terribly creative name, but it's perfectly fine and logical.

Day one buy for me! Can't wait for more info. I want to read that gameinformer article now!
siddhu33
How come Gameinformer get all the articles?
I've noticed...
Probably because the entire cover is a giant ad space.Well, at least they didn't came up with the brightest subtitle that seems to be a Batman trademark now: "Return"... I was actually thinking it was gonnabe "Return to AA" :P

I can't believe it took this long for someone to mention No Man's Land, and people say that they are big fans of Batman and don't know what of the big story arcs pfft I say!
I read the novel too.

AdobeArtist is correct. Without a doubt there has not been a super hero game of this magnitude, ever.
I like the name because it reminds me of No Man's Land and the trailer looks a little like what I would picture Gotham to be in that setting.
I wonder if Catwoman is playable via free DLC like the Joker.
Can't wait for my issue of Game Informer.:D

She just better be in the 360 version, or heads will roll :x

6Does the Wii have a batman game?? Why did they leave the Wii gamers out in the cold? Will Tim Drake or Rick Grayson be in this game? Coolyfett always liked those dudes in the comics. Coolyfett wishes the dev was the ones doing the Green Lantern: Rise of Manhunters game. Comic games are always fun to play when done right
Too bad I never got into the original. I played the demo and it was meh. Supposedly it's the best Batman game...SaltyMeatballs
Yeah, definitely the best Batman game, but what does that really mean except not crap?
I liked the game, but the combat was very simplistic, as in 'press x to win."The stealth was okay and the story was alright. The boss fights were terrible, but the gadgets were fun, even if acquired a little too slowly considering that you are Batman.
I hope the game world is opened up a bit, give it that vertical freedom that Batman should have.
