[QUOTE="BigBoss154"][QUOTE="rybe1025"]There is no part of me that can honestly understand how anyone could truthfully say Killzone 2. I have not played Killzone 3 so I can not say but I doubt it is much different then KZ2 or the demo which was not good at all also. I will give one example and this was not on easy difficultly either. When a Helghast was hiding behind cover he would almost always raise his head up a few inches above his hiding spot and turn it from side to side then all I would have to do is keep my gun planted there for a easy head shot since after turning his head side to side he would raise it up at the same exact spot. The enemy pretty much just let me know where to shot. rybe1025
Sounds like you never played on Elite. Or even veteran. The AI's behaviour is completely different with the increasing difficulty.
God I hate this stuff acting like the AI is night and day depending on the difficultly setting. I think I played on either normal or hard but no matter what I played it on it do not act like it is a complete revamp of AI for Killzone 2. The difficultly level 9 times out of 10 changes the damage a player takes, enemy damage, or enemy amount if defense. I just love how some defenders act like there is some entire new AI script that is written for every level of difficulty. Face it Killzone 2 AI stunk and they are not going to have a entire AI script for every level for every new difficulty. Then again judging from your sig it is not shocking.I'm not going to bother with trying converse with you if you are going to ignore the facts, which you have just done. And my sig has nothing to do anything. You can't take a joke? Because that's all it is.
I'm done.

The AI on Killzone is far from stupid and they notice quite fast when you are not taking cover, you can see that in this video quite easy, see when he is targeting an enemy, and while he is breaking cover to shot at him he get hit by other enemies. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=okMqAvvC1ZU Killzone 2 has some of the best AI i have ever seen on a FPS.
[QUOTE="PAL360"]Good AI isn't cheap AI. That's cheap because they soak up a billion shots. Exactly they are not smart they are just almost undestructible, instead to making him smarter they just increase the damage that they inflict and the damage it take to kill them. Killzone 2 has far superior AI than Halo,i guess Halo fans would admit this by now,i was wrong also Resistance is a tad over Halo, but mainly because you just can't hide for 5 second to regain all your health, and because hiding in Resistance won't serve you for much, when enemies can fire and even see you through walls.Halo Reach.
One single Elite can be a problem:

DEAR GOD.
[QUOTE="WilliamRLBaker"]
*laughs* Killzone 2 and 3 good AI? Killzone 2 alone enemies will just stare at you as you knife them. Its how I got through killzone2 on easy in about 5 hours using nothing but the knife when I had the choice and 5 hours on normal using the knife whenever I had a choice. I've yet to play killzone 3 but Guerilla hasn't ever been capable of making good AI.

oh, you.
Only Baker. Always gets shot down when making a biased PS3 post :P

Damn man, im sure you could find a way to praise the games on your favourite system without bashing the ones on the oposite one! Claiming that Reach has a bad AI is as bad as claiming that the moon is blue.
All A.I. in all games fail to impress me at all. Its all very scripted and their actions are highly predictable and it never changes. FEAR 1 was pretty good though. Probably the only game worth noting its A.I. for. But then again FEAR2 and 3 sucked hard when it came to A.I. so perhaps it was only during its time that FEAr 1 was amazing.
I wonder why people have to lie about games in order to discredit them, that was a problem of the pre-release version of Killzone 2 which gameradars (also known in Neogaf as Killzone Haters with proof) played through a pre-release version of Killzone 2 and find that in a few early levels you could knife enemies, they claim the AI is on normal, but it wasn't it was on easy you can see that by the time it takes the enemies to realize that you are close or there,in normal enemies realize quite fasts when you are not taking cover or are close. Playing the whole game with just a knife in impossible in Killzone 2,there are part where you will not get any were with a knife quite as early as the level where the enemy with the huge rail gun appears,no only that there are times where more than 12 or 15 enemies at once fire at you, breaking cover with a knife is suicidal, even on easy.*laughs* Killzone 2 and 3 good AI? Killzone 2 alone enemies will just stare at you as you knife them. And Resistance as well.

Resistance: Fall of Man had amazing AI. Certainly better than 2.

Halo series always had better AI then most every other FPS.

Oh c'mon. Halo AI was atrocious. Your NPCs can't even drive a vehicle or man a turrent properly. Very often, the NPC gets into the driver's seat and just chills out.
Halo AI is atrocious because it has a flaw?

There actually is a huge difference, on Elite you still take quite a few hits before dying, the AI is what is mostly different, then again you'd know that if you had actually played it on Elite, which you have not.
.. Why is it that when talking about AI, its always just about FPS.. And no other genre?sSubZerOoStarcraft 2's AI is pretty good, one of the best I've seen. It almost mirrors professional players though at Insane level, it cheats a bit.

...Why the hell did you play on easy? :?
The AI's behaviour changes with the different difficulty. On Elite, they'll work in teams to try and flank you, draw you from cover by throwing grenades and then ambush you, they'll play dead, shift/shimmy from cover to cover when they are taking heavy fire, and rush you when they hear that you are reloading.
Wow... Ima go with KZ3 now that i hear this. Thats insanely good AI.To me the AI king is either STALKER SoC or FEAR 1, hard to judge between those, The human ai seems better in FEAR 1, but is competent in STALKER, the dogs, and other mutants tho... OOOh the horror, those are really good.
Honerbly mentions:
KZ2: It is almost up to FEAR level of ai in higher settings, altho the FEAR ai seems to take more advantage of the invioments, otherwise they seem pretty much the same "kind"
Halo: this is a bit of an odd one, because some enemies in the Halo games have great ai, and other enemy types I have a feeling they forgot to code ai for alltogether :S So it ranges from really good, to pretty bad.
Crysis: The ai in crysis is quite good alltogether, however with the destructibleenvioments and constant repathingthe enemies often do some really stupid things.

No wonder you are lemming then. :D
Ad. thread:
The AI kings are obviously Killzone 2/3 and FEAR as most ppl here said, but Army of Two: The 40th Day had surprisingly good AI too.
KZ 2&3 on elite. I could not even finish KZ2 the last battle is extremely hard. I had to take a break. oh and Men of War on Hard
Black and whiteSome-Mist
Now there's a good answer, such a wonderful game as well.
People in this thread only seem to play corridor shooters though :(
