As a cow.. So far disappointed with UT3..

I really hate to say this because i always have nothing but great things to say about PS3, but i must admit im disappointed with UT3.. FIrst off, why is there no voice chat supported in the game?! I mean like noone talks whatsoever, and how do i know when im playing against bots or actual other people?! The graphics are gorgeous no doubt but this game is very confusing.. Im going to keep playing it and see if i can get into it. I do remember that when i first got warhawk I hated it but after awhile it grew on me and its now one of my fav games.. But so far UT3 for PS3 leaves a lot to be desired..

the funny thing is.. While its very fast paced i also found it very boring at the same time.. I mean it really pains me to say this because i had such high hopes for this game.. dun wry i felt liek that at 1st too, but after a little time playing wiht my KB/M and after i installed the game at thesettings menu and tweaked mouse speed

the game ran very fast and it was SOOOOOO much fun its like palying it on PC, but its on my 52' Bravia XBR wiht surround... much better haha, also im pretty sure voice chat will come...

I hate the way people act like playing against bots is somehow less than playing against flesh bags. Just because bots are eternal AI lifeforms they get hated on.

Its a niche game...the Hermits tried to tell you cows....this is a game thats only gonna appeal to a small amount of people....

that said....I imagine the game will be a lot better with a keyboard and mouse.

Does anyone know how you can tell if your playing with bots or actual humans?! And if so, how can you make it to where you only play with humans.. I bought this game for online multiplayer, not to play with bots.. Thats what i loved about warhawk, it didnt have any botsChristopherM80

Indeed. I was never a big Warhawk or Halo fan (both of the best online games for their respective consoles), but they are far better than UT3. UT3 just feels very "old" for some reason. It hasn't evolved enough. It was scaled back in some ways from UT2004. Very disappointing. I'm sure I'll try to get into it. If ya wanna play sometime online, add me.

UT04 had voice chat....so I would assume UT3 has it too....

it also has a text-to-speech thing...but if you listen to it for a long time, your head explodes.

How do you set up your keyboard and mouse while you sit in front of the TV? I had a problem with that back in the Dreamcast days trying to play Quake 3 with the keyboard and mouse. I ended up having to sit at a dinner tableI dragged near the TV.

Just stick with UT2004. Any hermit will be p****** with this game.

The Bot's are very good...Ill give epic that.....I havent heard of anyone every beating one at the highest setting.

I dunno. Back when I played Quake you knew a bot was on the server because it was annihilating everything with the rocket launcher/quad damage. Have they gotten dumber since then?

now when u say it dosnt work, do oyu just mean it dosnt work at all, or it just dosnt work in game? bcz if it dosnt wrok in game makesure the game ur joining allows KB/M, u can set that in filters, or maybe check ur settings

I dont know how UT3 bots work online...but singleplayer they are very good.

hence why there is teamspeak and ventrillo. you're right though these days majority pc games have voice chat enabled.

anyways back to tc maybe they didnt have mics. i remember on resistance how most of the games i joined were quiet as hell and on warhawk not that many ppl talked.

I didn't mean they arn't "good", they can be unbeatable.. they just don't have the overall intelligence of human players. They don't really have the ability to learn, or to adapt to something.

I could sit around some corner with the flac gun, and just pick them off as they walk around it randomly, they don't learn to stop doing that.

dude!! the disappointing things that people are talking about will be the same on the 360 as well. the visuals really wont be any better, the gameplay will be the same, and so will all the modes. and, the 360 version wont have mod support. that makes it worse.

i dont think i will get ut3, but if i did i know will get it for pc once i get my pc upgraded instead of getting it for console. hope that makes you feel better.

I may extremely late on this, but how does the PS3 mod support work? agentfred

all the mods are made by the PC community...and than "cooked" for the PS3....I think their are a lot of requirments though....because of the closed structure of consoles.

Not sure why, the TC, would come to system wars, and spread false information about UT3 without first doing some research on the matter. An individual could possibly read it, and be turned off by it, in turn, making them not buy it. I suggest you read the manual next time before you come to SW of all places.

Hit RIGHT on the D-pad in order to turn on Voice Chat.
