@drfecalstein: Why do you care do much about the sale figures, anyway?
Are you thinking that if the game fails and Ubisoft collapses, that will be a strong warning against other developers to not allow players to attack shrines?
It's great that you guys care so much about reducing vandalism at Japanese tourist sites. You're going about it in a really weird way, but if the gaming population rejects AC Shadows then it's a pretty clear sign that people feel strongly about how tourists act around religious sites.
I dont care about shrines personally but your close.
Because Ubisoft represents everything that sucks ass about modern AAA games.
Repetitive rinse repeat gameplay
Bloated open world slop
extremely high budgets that push out games that show minimal effort.
MTX for every aspect of content to maximize squeezing every possible dime out of the player
D.E.I pushed in characters/story strictly for virtue signaling points, not for meaningful story/plot
and people are tired of it, Ubisoft has a horrible reputation now, this used to be a company that was one of the best at one point. now they are atrocious, even worse than EA. They deserve to fail and hopefully it will be used as a case study for the rest of the industry, and end up getting us all better games in the future
