PlayStation lifestyle gave it a 10/10
Nobody should get this on PC... Seriously the settings don't scale.
I wasn't expecting to run it on Very high at 60FPS at all... But to not be able to do 60FPS on Low settings is a joke.
40FPS on low settings with a R9 270 and it dips A LOT!
I play Shadow of Mordor at High settings with medium textures at 50-60FPS and Battlefield 4 at High settings and FXAA at 50-60FPS. WTF... Can't get 60FPS on low?

Have you seen the Nvidia performance guide? Go check the settings comparisons.. There is little to no difference at all in visuals when changing several settings from low to high.

Well, that's still better than the console versions. If you want this game and have a good gaming PC, there's no reason not to get it on PC.
Outside of the few stuttering/performance issues (PC version btw) I have to say I'm actually enjoying it, btw this is coming from someone who actually hates the AC series besides AC2 and AC Black Flag.
Are there two teams working on Assassins Creed? I can't believe that we can actually have a step backward at this point after how awesome Black Flag was.
Ubisoft needs to stop. Give the series some rest. Take a few years off, regroup, think things through, then try again.
Remember what happened the last time they did that? We got the amazingness that is Assassin's Creed II.

Assassin's Creed is Ubisoft's cash cow. They're going to put out annual titles so long as people buy them.
AC2 only came about because the original director of the series had a vision for the games. They were supposed to be a three-part trilogy, but Ubisoft couldn't let that happen after AC2 became so successful.
Well thats unfortunate atleast tropico 5 debuts on ps4 this week. May pick up samurai warriors 4 instead lets see how rogue does first.

Ac2 was easily my favorite from what I've played of the AC titles so far, it was so damn huge and the locales were pretty varied with Venice being my favorite section of the game.

They can make Watch Dogs their cash cow while they try to figure out what to do with Assassin's Creed. Some long term thinking here- killing AssCreed in the next few years just for short term profits would be singularly stupid, it has the potential to be a great, big money spinner for Ubisoft for a very long time. All they need to do is take a year or so off, try to figure out what exactly is not working with these games, and then try again. Yes, the original director is gone, but that doesn't preclude Ubisoft from still being able to make successful games in the franchise.

Watch Dogs doesn't have the mainstream appeal that Assassin's Creed does, for whatever reason. And let's be real: AC Unity wasn't a massive flop overall. It's still got a 75 MC score. Sure, fans will complain and reviews won't match up to Black Flag, but at the end of the day it's gonna sell really well and that's the overriding priority for Ubisoft. When Ubisoft says shit like "we'll stop making the AC games annual when the fans tell us," they really mean "we'll stop making the AC games annual when sales fall below expectations."

So how interesting is Paris? is it large atleast or do they give you the option to explore the rest of fake france.
If anything you would think Ubisoft would do france justice. I mean, they are fucking french.

Apparently it's one of the best things about the game, something that it manages to do singularly right.

I'm not sure Watch Dogs doesn't have the appeal. It sold 9 million units with its very first game, after all the controversy surrounding it and the middling reviews that it got. That's more than three of the six Assassin's Creed games so far. That, plus there is also the fact that, as big as the first Assassin's Creed game was, the franchise didn't really hit the mainstream until Assassin's Creed II (and then Brotherhood); there is every chance for Watch Dogs to hit it big with the mainstream with its sequel(s) as well, and given how well Ubisoft markets its franchises, it almost certainly will.
All of that said, you might be right, unfortunately- I don't think Ubisoft is actually interested in nurturing Assassin's Creed as a long term franchise. I think they want to extract every last bit of profit of it while they can. The sad thing is, it's because they have shown that every time one of their existing franchises dies out because of milkage, they have another new one ready to take its place (Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon, Prince of Persia, Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, presumably Watch Dogs and The Division in the future).
It's a pity, because this could have been a truly great series, and you can still see glimpses of that in each game.
I'm still pissed they couldn't hire guys with French accents to do the voices. It worked well for the Ezio games.

Yeah that pissed me off as well. Dude opened his mouth in the trailer and sounds like someone who lives in texas. What the **** mate.
@Charizard1605 well at least they didn't screw Paris up I guess. I'm sure they would have been burned at the stake being Ubisoft if they managed to mess that up.

I've only played 71 minutes so far and from what I've seen France looks hella amazing (running on high settings on PC). There's some texture issues like some cloth physics just spaz out and go everywhere but everything else looks pretty good to amazing. Arno is probably one of the best if not the best AC character to date so far (yes topping Ezio and Kenway).
I am about 3 hours in. One major glitch were I could move the camera around but my character was frozen. Had to restart. Other than that a few framerate drops but so far I like it and can't wait to play coop.
@DarthRamms: The comments on lifestyle is hilarious. Everyone just calling out his bs and even some stating they used to find the site credible (haha) and now they are gonna avoid it. One person pointed out that the reviewer gave the vita port of borderlands 2 a 9/10 and the reviewer said he would still stand behind his review on borderlands 2.
The 10/10 was clearly done for click bait and free ad space when ubisoft makes the commercial. The review itself read as marketed material without any sign of the reviewer actually playing the game.
@princeofshapeir:
Idk man, those british accents are so great for whatever setting. Haha
I hear annoying british tourist accents here in Portugal all the fucking time but when I hear the type of classy accent used in most historically-themed shows/movies/games it just clicks, never annoys me.

LOL pathetic
This franchise is officially shit. Pretty incredible they've gone from the quality of AC2 to this. I used to be a huge AC fan too. Won't be buying this.
7/10 and 75 on MC is officially shit?
Another turd of a game MS tied to itself to. No wonder it's riddled with microtransactions and the frame rate's shit. Evolve is next.
@jessejay420: pathetic like the lemmings.

Ubisoft isn't listening.
I'm still considering this as one of my first PS4 games. I've only played two AC games before: Assassin's Creed II and Assassin's Creed Black Flag. The thing I enjoyed most about them was the worlds. The gameplay in many ways was kind of broken and sloppy, but I still had a great deal of fun overall. Enough so that I pretty much had 100% completion in both games.
Everything I hear about the improvements made in Unity just sound like the exact kind of stuff I've always wanted them to do to fix the series and make it more interesting in the gameplay realm. I just hope they release a good patch for the game before I get my hands on it.
I think I'll dive in and see for myself. I'll be getting a PS4 eventually anyways. I intend to check out Black Friday deals for the system and get inFAMOUS, Unity, and download Velocity 2X.
Meh. Never got the hype for the series anyways. I was really psyched for the first one and it was pure garbage. Everyone said 2 was brilliant, and while it was a MASSIVE improvement over the first game, I still couldn't bring myself to trudge through it. Never gave any of the other games a chance either.
Though I did watch one of my friends playing Black Flag for a bit, it looked pretty cool.
Played about an hour on PC. i7 3770k @4.2Ghz and a GTX 670. Game looks like shit and runs like shit; playing at 1920x1200 with everything maxed except for textures (high), shadows (setting right below PCSS), and AA (off, can't stand FXAA). Getting an average of 30-45 FPS running around Paris with obscene stuttering. NPC pop-in is so terrible that it makes me feel like I'm playing GTA V on PS3. Graphics aren't impressive outside of cutscenes; lighting changes wildly from one scene to another and has a habit of flickering around. Character models for civilians in Paris look like they've been facelifted from AC3 or Black Flag. Oh, and framerate during cutscenes seems to plummet for me; I chalk it up to the "cinematic DOF" or whatever, but I've seen it go below 20 at times, which is laughable.
Overall I'm glad I didn't pay money for this game. But I kind of wish I redeemed my code for Far Cry 4 instead. I'll see how performance is when my 970 arrives but I'm not expecting any sort of magic bullet that'll suddenly make this game perform acceptably, whether it be a new GPU or a patch.
Well damn what a dog.
I got this game and I'm getting FC4 next week, :D
You just wasted money on this flop game, Ubisoft - 1, Heil - 0
Naw, its pretty good thus far.
You bought this but are leaning towards not getting smash. Your taste is ass bro.
I love how they not only had an embargo till AFTER the game launched, but they also hid microtransactions in the review copies. I can't wait for sites to update their scores. Not only that, but to reflect the PS4/PC performance. That metacritic is gonna drop.

I'll just buy Smash used or rent it,

I don't get it either. How can you support a game that seriously has frame rate problems and poorly optimized, yet not get Smash?! (Unless your not an arcade brawler fan). Yes, your a PlayStation cult believer but come on man, I would hope you have some decency and standards. *smh*
