Please stop this now. Your best argument is "who knows" like its a mystery or something? Let me spell it out for you. Sony DOMINATED last gen, and thus had the biggest fanbase. Their new console came, and barely outsold the xbox 360, and didn't outsell it during the holiday season. Millions of PS2 owners bought it on future potential, and now it has a library vastly inferior to xbox 360s and people are still waiting for that potential to be fulfilled. If your only argument is that the ps3s might be better, "who knows" I think this argument is over.

First and foremost I would like to apologize for hurting your feelings, I had no idea you were so sensitive.
Anyways I didn't say "who knows" to what your talking about, I said "who knows" to your direct question, "do you think people bought PS3s for Heavenly Sword." Don't quote me out of context, it makes it much harder to communicate to you.
Furthermore, Sony was king two generations in a row, and is on it way to 2nd place for this gen because of high quality hardware, a blu-ray player, and a promising line up of big hitting titles, as well as new IPs.
360 took off in a good way this gen because it had no competition and released all of its hard hitting franchises during it's very first 2 years. Now it suffers from lack of system pushing software and the rising strength of the PS3 and is relying on price cuts -- something Sony was mocked for in 2007.
Both the 360 and PS3 are being dominated by the Wii, and Nintendo will most likey take the throne this gen. It's unfortunate that Microsoft still hasn't won a gen.
You say millions of PS2 owners were cheated by the PS3 because it didn't live up to it's promise at launch (what console does?). No console is worth getting at lunch because they are over priced and lack games -- yet a $600 PS3 outsold a flourishing 360 that had all it's major hits backing it up. Again, the people who bought it knew what they were buying, yet STILL outsold the 360.
I think a more accurate thing to say is that millions of PS2 owners are still waiting to get a PS3, and probably bought a Wii to sustain them. They are people like me, who will not buy a PS3 until their hit title comes out. For me that title is FF13, for a lot of people it was MGS4, which is why you saw the 150% PS3 sales boost recently.
For the people who bought the PS3 on future potential, how could they possible be dissapointed? PS3 is barely 2 years old and already is proving it has what it takes.
But i will face suspension because you can't handle someone destroying your argument. sorry.
