This, his cop-out is a joke. Why ignore one of the most recognizable PC traits, its open nature in both hardware and software? :?

There's two sides in every debate and they tend to ignore why many of us buy gaming PCs. It games and it also does everything else.
Gaming PC = console(s) + non-gaming PC (or equivalent tablet, laptop, etc).
Edit:
To me, the prices for both concepts are roughly equal.
Yeah, defintely.
My PC gives me a very pleasant gaming experience, and it's very fast and responsive for normal use, and for when I need to get some work done. The hardware was much more expensive than consoles, but I find the investment highly worthwhile, and that's what matters the most.
Agreed. My PC gives me a happy face every time I play too.
Cheap games makes up the cost for hardware, so it's debatable when console gamers start putting "PC gaming is expensive" into the picture. It's kind of ironic of the peasants when their games are pricey! Stepping up from PS3 to PS4 is like buying a new GPU for the PC, again, it's ironic when they say "Urgh, you have to upgrade the PC... too much hassle and it costs money".
i wont drop it, my argument is not silly,"The architecture choice we have made this time around has allowed us not to invest to create dedicated factories and conducting factories and things like that so that helps in order for us to provide an affordable price to consumers." http://gamingeverything.com/40956/ps4-will-be-affordable-says-sonys-yoshida/ You are telling me that i am hoping yet your are the one who came with an idiotic price.? So yeah last time sony say the PS3 wold be expensive and it was,now they are saying it will be affordable so i have no reason to doubt it. The PS4 will not pass $400 in US. I can believe how hypocrite your are,so when Kutaragy say people would have to get 2 jobs and say that the PS3 was going to be expensive now most be take as something subjective.? But a few months ago and ever since launch the comment has been take as arrogant, and one of sony worst mistakes. Here is the reason the PS4 will not be $600.. No Cell $100+ on launch. No over priced Nvidia GPU,$100+ non launch. No new expensive media (blu-ray back on launch) $100+ as well.. This time the APU inside the PS4 will cost less than Cell alone,in fact is been rumored at $80 dollars for both CPU and GPU,the only thing expensive is GDDR5 which is say to cost sony like $120 or less for 8GB... You can continue your worthless argument the PS4 will not be $600.i simply pointed out that you have absolutely no idea how much it'll cost, that you are guessing / hoping, Â what is silly there?
i didn't expect to see the steam box retail at $1000..... did you?.
now your point there about kutaragi's "it'll be expensive" is silly, because that statement is  subjective.   how much is "expensive"?

And next gen console games are rumored to start costing $70. I'll stick to PC gaming, as PC games tend to cost no more than $50, and even new titles usually cost $40.[QUOTE="Timbury"] The hermits you keep talking about are on this forum, hermits is a system wars term not Steam. Most display their specs in sigs and most have rigs that easily outgun a PS4. So why do you keep making sweeping generalisations and grouping users on the board with Steam?tormentosThere is no easily outgunning the PS4 for a few years dude, the GPU on the PS4 can run most PC games max out now in 1080p quite easy, the only real advantage PC gamers will have is more frames per second.. And you have to spend way more than what a PS4 will cost, there is no mid range crap kicking the PS4,prepare to see some parity from now on,on PC vs consoles for at least 3 years.. Also don't talk like no one here is on Steam or should i go post hunting because Hermit have use Steam vs PSN,and Live so much times is quite easy to find.
it can? source? Benchmarks?

Tormentos "PS4 WILL NOT PASS $400 in US".  that is worth sigging  Â
EDIT Lol, Â even your own link disagrees with your argumentÂ
Speculation about the price of the upcoming PS4 has already surfaced, and one rumor says that there will be two models: One priced at $429 and one priced at $529. I dont believe the rumor has much more clout than an educating guess, but chances are the device will fall somewhere within that price range.
Â
also,  you seem to be assuming that just because there is no cell that means they will sell it cheaper.   Sony stuff is always priced highly in comparison to competitors products. Â

The links rumors not what Yoshida claimed.. ""We were told that Sonys aim with Orbis is to avoid problems involved in launching PS3 by creating something very affordable but that isnt a slouch" http://www.vg247.com/2012/11/01/ps4_details_playstation_4/ ""Before, weve heard rumors that the console will move at $400, but one analyst isnt so sure that would cut it. Inside Networks Billy Pidgeon had this to say to Games Industry International: Id like to see maybe two models, one under $300 and one under $400 would be ideal. $299 is the magic price point. I think this current generation took way too long to get there. It has to be under $400 and honestly if they could subsidize it further and take more of a hit, it might be worth their while in the long run." http://www.forbes.com/sites/davidthier/2013/02/25/analyst-calls-299-magic-price-point-for-ps4/ Keep your fanboy wish alive the PS4 will not be expensive.Same one you have if you actually doubt it.. Yeah, that's not the same as a confirmation that it will be $400 or less
Not is not it could be even cheaper.. Considering how much the PS3 cost to manufacture and for what it was sold, this console should have no problem selling at $400 with minimal or no loss at all. People who think the PS4 will be over $400 are just haters, why didn't you quote sts106mat and ask him for a link to were it say the PS4 would cost $1,000 which is the quote that started the argument. So you think the PS4 will be $1,000 i didn't see you asking links, maybe is more believable for you $1,000 than $400..[QUOTE="lostrib"][QUOTE="tormentos"] Same one you have if you actually doubt it.. I'm talking about Crysis PC not the gimped consol version, tell me one game on consoles that come anywhere close to it. Just to shut you up Crysis has 1GB of textures alone. Tell me console optimization make the RAM bigger too. :roll:zeeshanhaiderNo and that is why sony is using 8GB of GDDR5,so that the PS4 doesn't suffer from ram starvation, running Crysis on consoles is a marvel so is Skyrim, those games use allot of ram for consoles to compensate. Try to run Crysis 3 on a 7800GTX with 256 MB of system ram and 256MB of vram and then talk to us....
makes sense, the majority of people PC gamers only have 1GB of VRAM. At 34.54%
Also the most popular graphics card is the Intel HD Graphics 3000

Looks like my threads were right all along...
because of the 8GB's of GDDR5 ram.

If "most PCs" mean my old Toshiba laptop and netbook? Sure. Seriously, this 8gb DDR5 thing is becoming more and more like the present day version of magic beans.
[QUOTE="Rocker6"][QUOTE="gpuking"] You're right, it's most likely even more efficient as the quote confirmes from the hermit god himself lol.gpuking
How is he a "hermit god"?
He didn't have much of an impact on the PC market this gen, and he can't live forever on the old glory. He did a lot for the PC gaming back in the day and I respect his contributions, but nowdays, he's not that relevant, sadly.
That said, hope he steps up the game next gen, I'd love to see more of his work...
Just because he didn't make a splash this gen doesn't mean he wont nextgen. Besides Tim Lotte said the same and his fxaa should be relevant enough.Oh wait, so the mighty MLAA you love to brag about is going away since Sony first party is now moving to FXAA? What happened to all the MLAA is better than 16x MSAA crap?
And about Cramck, well I have respect for the guy without him we would be where we are today, but that guy got lost up a long ago. I still remember him talking about SVO is a technology he wants to base on ID tech 6 and technology (hardware) for sucha thing doesn't exist yet while Crytek was using SVO in CE3 since 2009 and was the first engine to do that now even UE4 uses that.
So, right now I take Crytek words over it. And in anyway, PS4 hardware is already outdated compare to even midrange PC hardware that is availavle today I can only imagine what would happen by the time PS4 releases.;) Stay butthurt.

Why should we? We are not bounded by fixed hardware.
And I ask about Crysis 1 because of the silly comment of 2x the power of PCs and I think it was reasonable if consoles were really 2x the power of PCs, we should have seen Crysis on Consoles or heck something even remotely close to it.
