Avowed - 6/10 GS, 80 MC

Dang, was definitely expecting better than that. Will you still be checking out Avowed, SW?

I'd like to see reviews from other big sites before jumping to conclusions, and see where the MC lands

From the looks of it, it's gonna be a mid-gaming fun. So this is a take it or leave it till the big hitters come out late February and beyond the upcoming months from now. Everything I've seen so far, I wouldn't pay full price for it but will give it a try while using Game Pass.

Looks like they should've delayed it a bit more.

I'll play it after I'm done with KCD2, Obsidian makes great games even if they don't score well.

Avowed (Xbox Series X) Review

I'm still going to have fun with it.

I'll still play it even if it's another disposable GP game for Xbox. I still find it weird that this and HB2 have about the same MC even though this has 100 percent more gameplay

This sentiment is why the gaming industry is struggling. Developers and publishers are chasing AAA sequels and broad appeal because people see 6s and 7s as unplayable or "Avoid"

I'll remind you that Fallout New Vegas got a 7.5 and is considered the best Fallout game by a mile.

The main complaint in most reviews is that it doesn't push the needle. In an RPG world that has had games like BG3, KCD2, Metaphor.........it definitely makes sense.

It doesn't mean that it is a bad game, or that people shouldn't play it.

Yup we all knew that fake biased Sony lovers at SonySpot was going to Tax Xbox this week and sure enough not only did they tax Xbox but this REEKS of State of Play bitterness tax as well.

First of all here are some examples of how fake biased Sony loving GS is.

DA Veilguard get's a GREAT 8 yet this game was destroyed by most reviews and was trashed on Metacritic and even had divisive woke issues..

Dragons Dogma 2 gets a Superb 9 yet we know this game had one of the worst save systems in gaming and a terrible fast travel system and had tons of performance issues still months after launch. Although we know this is the exact type of Sony lovers games they like the jrpg style so of course FakeSpot ate this up even though all the flaws.

Now here comes this week. And we get you guessed it a big whopping 6. Yes a 6. Ok for starters games that get a 6 are for games that are literally either extremely broken or just so bad that well year it deserves a 6.

So lets look at the scores from others and see if FakeSpot is accurate with their Xbox Tax program.

Either FakeSpot has the worst most biased reviewers in the industry or this is some type of conspiracy against Xbox or both?

I ask you FakeSpot was this latest Xbox game Broken? is it unplayable or something? Does it have performance issues does it not let you save the game with reasonable ease? Becuase this is what a game would be a 6 if this is the case but this does not seem to be the case.

Is FakeSpot also bitter that the Sony State of Play was utter trash yesterday so is this a way to make yourself feel better that your beloved PlayStation has no games so you go and EGREGIOUSLY TAX Xbox again becuase you're bitter that Xbox has tons of games and the best subscription service on the market.?

This really is where Gamepass shines, I'll happily try it, if it's better than some are indicating great, if it's not as good as indicated by others then oh well.

Seems like a solid game. Gamespot credibility just isn't where it used to be like back in the old days. The constant shilling and ducking off Sony movie games nonstop, it just doesn't end.

Once the honeymoon period passed people will criticize the game more. Personally obsidian can make a good game but their recent efforts not as good as their independent studio days.

Metaphor doesn't push any envelope. It is as generic as you can desire.

Gear bullet point is the only one that seems like a real issue

Sounds mildly underwhelming but I'm still up for a slightly more contained/straightforward RPG. BG3 was great and all but it kind of felt like a second job at times.

Honestly I was expecting around and 8 out of 10 for this game and it sounds like it should deliver that as someone who likes Obsidian games.

Will be playing this on game pass once I finish Stalker 2 which I'm hoping to do this weekend

So, when GS gives a bad review for and Xbox game, all that matters is GS. When they give a good review for an Xbox game, all that matters is MC.

Surprising score. Not that I have played it or anything. But most other reviews seem pretty positive in the game.

Most important question of course is: was there a hype thread? Is this a flop in the all important SW Meta game? :P.

I'll be checking it out at some point anyway. Won't be getting it at launch though.

I'll wait and see what the communities overall take is on the game. Reviewers loved Veilguard and it's meh, reviewers hated New Vegas and is one of the most beloved RPGs of all time.

Of course, I've always assumed the the Xbox tax was a variable reflective of the state of Sony fanboy morale, and the reviews come on the heels Sony's State Of Play blue balls extravaganza.

Yeah lemmings really don't know what the crap is going on anymore. There aren't XBOX games anymore. They are multiplat now. GS gave it a 6 MC is around 80. Average game BUT as an actual gamer I know that 6-8 games are sometimes ok to play and may be fun!

Avowed is on PC, and will probably be on PS soon. Heck now that Forza and Indy are coming to PS all this conspiracy against XBOX GAMES is SOOOOO DUMB!!!!! They are multiplat people, these arguments are just from a fanbase that is SALTY THEY LOST!!!! LOSERS!!!!

Mega flop confirmed. Feels like it's time to take a break from gaming... Not because of single game, just overall everything seems either so familiar it lacks impact or just not very good. Can't remember the past time any game built real excitement in me to play. Helldivers 2 maybe, then elden ring before that? Just seems games are so easy to skip and miss nothing.

Honestly that's about what I was expecting, but it still looks like a type of game I'd like to play. Often times the first game in a new franchise (if that's the route they decide to take) has a lot of growing pains, development issues, and sets them up to avoid those mistakes in a sequel.
