My bad: I didn't bother noticing exclusives were bolded in orange.

Games like Galactic Civilizations or Sins of a Solar Empire aren't really any more 'AAA' than Gran Turismo or Resistance: Fall of Man by anything except Gamespot standards though.

Lol, and sadly that reflects this thread quite well, a bunch of PC gamers claiming that thier version is superior when A) We all know this, B) Nobody seem to care, except for, you know PC gamers desperately trying to prove something we already know.

In a quote I will always remember as a testament to a terrible community vs the merits of a platform, "PC fanboys today are some of the most insecure fanboys ever, and are the most insecure they have ever been now that consoles are so close to the PC in terms of power", or something like that.

You don't see anyone arguing it because they don't care, yet PC fanboys will stop at nothing to convince everyone that their system is 5 generations ahead and that every single game is some sort of amazingly different experience because it has a few more pixels on a high end rig.

Personally, PC gaming is amazing, but I plan on getting Arkham City for PS3, because its where I prefer to game, despite my brand new, sweet GTX 570 set up.

Regardless, this AAA open world Batman game is going to own on PC; and probalby be OK on console as well.

Played the first one first on PS3, and again this year after getting my PC. Certainly better looking, but the game looked great on my console too. If I were a console only gamer, I wouldn't be too bothered.

The last batman game is the only PC game that used PhysX to enhance the gameplay rather than just add some random eye candy. The smoke effects were breath taking and they made the areas seem more believable. The hundereds of tiny objects flaying around a boss was amazingly well done. It made the boss feel more powerful and crazy since all these objects are flying around him as if the boss was their savior. I can't wait to see what they have been cooking up with this game. The PC version will indeed be the best.kingfire11

Not to be argumentative, but everything you described falls squarely into the "eye candy" category. Not to say they didn't look nice, because they did. But they didn't enhance gameplay at all. The gameplay will be the same on a console or a non PhysX GPU as it will be with PhysX enabled.

It's not unlikely. Have you seen some of the talent that Red 5 Studios has? Just to name a few: Firefall's lead designer (Scott Youngblood) designed Tribes 1 & 2. Furthermore, the company's CEO was team lead on World of Warcraft. I think one of their engine designers is also an ex-iD guy (Jon Olick.) They're a new upstart company, but many of them are actually veterans of the industry.

The potential for an amazing game is there.. they've just got to get the business model right. They've said in interviews that they're trying to get rid of that "F2P = bad game" stigma by creating an AAA game and releasing it with no strings attached. There is going to be no pay2win or buying weapons; they're going to be selling cosmetic stuff (like TF2) and convenience items like temporary XP boosts. You can apparently access all of the game's content (including equipment) without paying a cent.. if they stick to those words, I have faith that the game is going to turn out great.

With how hermits over emphasize graphics, I wonder how they'll play Diablo 3.
