Eh I disagree. I understand the whole sandboxy thing, but its a shooter. Its still point a to point b. Sure it gives the player more choice in destruction than say, Call of Duty, but its nowhere near the freedom of Just Cause 2. Its a good shooter, but I really dont get all the cries of Crysis 2 "consolization" when the first one really wasnt all that deep.
But of course when it comes to Crysis 2, it matter.....Who cares? If you're playing it on a console, you're doing it wrong.
cain006
They're probably using a low-end PC to run BF3, then.DICE developer Christina Coffin says:
@BaroldTheHooker Not done until we ship, a bit early to make fair comparisons between the two but ps3 has a lead by offloading gpu w/ SPUs

Yup that ends this thread right there.
Won't stop it from getting tons of posts :P.
I wouldn't go as far lol , but if you are comparing consoles graphics , then you're definetly doing it wrong.so is the ps3 version going to have 64 players..large scale maps and run at 60FPS? yeah..didn't think solawlessxI'm sure it's in comparison to the 360. We;ve all seen the leaked footage, there's no way a console can run that.
MODS..I spoke my mind on the subject. You deleted it and gave me a nice lil warning. I didnt say ANYTHING out of the way..Oh wait..I did say "hermit" OMG..Maybe I ment to say "Kermit"???
I'll say it again...the BF3 will be no better "initial gameplay" then the console version. Run,shoot,grenade,die,spawn,snipe,shoot,run,die..rinse repeat...Get over it...YES the PC will have its mods, maps, ect ect...blah blah blah..BUT in the long run the only thing that matters is the "joining of a game" and playing..
AND for the record, I like smaller amounts of people in game so thats a no go there. I also dont care if a server is dedicated or not...Im able to put the game in and play...that is all MOST people care about. Now go censor someone else please..:D

lol PC fanboys. Yeah, lets upgrade our systems every 6 months. Lets dismantle the machine, go out and buy hardware then rebuild it. For some extra players and textures. PC is a dying platform and its lucky to even get this game at all. PS3 is the place for FPS - KZ3, Resistance 3, BC2 lead, BF3 console lead. To the question - 'Who cares'? People who like to play the best games all in one place, and don't want the hassle of building/upgrading a unit nobody develops for.
lol PC fanboys talk like buying consoles is pointless. One game (BF3) and they think their corpse platform is suddenly worth investing in and relevant again. Uncharted, Motorstorm, KZ3, Resistance, accessibility - i'll take all those for the price of a few less players in BF3.
BF3 will sell big on the 360 and bigger on PS3. It will sell least on PC.
roadkill88
Funny, BFBC2 sold well more on the PC (and that was the real consolized version of Battlefield) and has thousands of more hours of play than the other two systems combined.
DICE knows that the PC is their main audience. They are going to put all of their effort into making it the best it can be.
As for you "accessibility" it comes at a major price. Games like Total War Shogun 2, Crysis (the original), ArmA 2, Company of Heroes and many others couldn't even be played on your consoles. So the innovative gameplay that they bring into the market so that other developers can be influenced and the genres can move forward, aren't happening on the consoles.
Just look at Crysis 2. A major step back from Crysis 1. While it will still be fun, it won't have nearly the diversity and gameplay value that the first had because they had to make it much smaller and far more linear. (Note Crysis 1 was a very beautiful mix of sandbox style gameplay and linear level design, so it's not purely open world)
I still have yet to see a console game match the gunplay in FEAR 1. A game from 2005 beats anything new. It's kind of sad.
Way to delete messages that totally annihilate you.
However I could moderate you for trolling me if that would make you feel better.

I don't know if we played the same shooter but FEAR was amazing. The AI alone kept the pace up throughout the game.
I acknowledged it was linear, but there are few games with AI that can even comapre to the AI found in FEAR. It's sad that more people haven't tried to mimick that AI.

I honestly dont remember the AI being anything special as the game was a breeze. Unfortunately it was a very linear, corridor shooter with no gameplay break up. Thank god it had nice visuals and decent gunplay (which I agree was pretty satisfying) or it would be utterly forgettable like its sequel.
And if we were comparing the two, Crysis craps all over it.

You must suck if thats all you do in battlefield
It consistently blows my mind when people say they'd rather play the console version. Why? Even if you don't have the means, are you telling me that you'd choose the 24 player, limited by console game over the glory that will be the 64 player PC version? I'm not buying it. I guarantee every single last one of you would jump at a chance to play the PC version.

I can't speak for him, but as someone who owns both a 360 and a PS3 in addition to my PC, I certainly am not, nor do I think consolites are idiots in any way. It's just, with this game, the console to PC gap is rather vast. I fail to see, with the exception of wanting to play with friends, why anyone would truly want this game on consoles.
