The people who say the framerate dips aren't an issue, and aren't a big deal in a genre like this
A: Don't play games on PC
B: Don't play games like this on a higher level
I'm not saying Bayonetta 2 becomes unplayable on consoles (lord knows there are plenty of 30 frame games on consoles), but it is significant that this game and all of Platinum's games don't run 60 frames locked. For a genre like this where you do want the precision, where frame data does matter, where it is important to make every frame count for your big combo strings, and for how fluid you want it all to feel, it is significant that Platinum games can't hit 60 frames locked.
"The whole Nintendo can do it" thing makes no fucking sense in this debate as nothing they make is a 1:1 comparison to what Platinum does. Platinum has more of a spectacle going on in their game and all around faster gameplay than any of Nintendo's action or platformer games.
Regardless of hardware or Platinum Games themselves they do deserve criticism for not being able to get 60 frames locked.
