[QUOTE="JiveT"]Seriously what the hell are you doing with your 360 if it breaks that much on you? I play mine more than anyone on this board and it happened to me once. (which I blame on a software update and knee jerk reaction more than anything)
So after thousands of hours using, it broke on me once, and I got it back within a two week period, from complaining to getting the box to getting it back. It has been running fine ever since.

Mine has been going for well more than 1000 hrs. All I had to do was clean it. Do I win something?
Yep, a free copy of Killzone 2!
Keep it in a little plastic bubble like that and chanses are that'll happen.
But they really need to fix the problem.

Hey, it doesn't happen to the Wii or the PS3. Why should it happen to the 360? Oh, wait...
It's in an acrylic case with improper ventilation. When I used to work at Best Buy the 360 AND THE PS3 would both lock up all the damn time. It's a giant pain in the rear too, because we would turn the TV off to indicate not to use it, but customers would turn it on and ask why it was broken.
Again though, same thing happens to the PS3 when you put it in a confined plastic box.

Lmao. Ignorant luck of the customers, I take it?

Who do you think designed the box it's in? I'm guessing MS folks.
A piece of equipment like that shouldn't irreparably break when it overheats. It should turn off. The 360 even has the capability of doing this, I understand. Why it doesn't prevent the RROD, IDK.

How can those snakes at Microsoft claim the RROD issue is a thing of the past when they are DISPLAYING it at one of the biggest Trade Shows in the world?
Are you kidding me?
KUDOS to the BBC for filming that and showing the world how fraudulent the Xbox 360 hardware is.
Well, it usually takes a HUGE, EMBARASSING MOMENT (like this) to force companies to to FINALLY DO SOMETHING to FIX A PROBLEM that's existed since DAY 1 and continues to this day.
The people around the broken 360 don't care... Yet this guy makes a big deal out of it 1 360 out of how many there is broken? Boohoo... Sony had overheating PS3's before.
You know when my 360 finally RROD I didn't even get mad or upset. I just said oh well... Time to get a new one.

Dude - listen to yourself for a second....
You act like the RROD is part of the purchase. Like it's ok to get the RROD. Just shrug it off and buy another Xbox 360.
Are you kidding me?
So what if that one RROD's too? Are you gonna store them up so next Christmas you can stack them up outside and have a nice red-light display next to the Nativity Scene?

Hey... Listen dude... Things never last forever... Especially electronics. Noting is ever perfect and if you understand this... Maybe you would understand how real life works and not complain so much.
They are trying to fix the problem and that is good enough for me... I'm not adding to the problem of the cry babies.

Things SHOULD last longer then their WARRANTY Period, don't you think?
Microsoft had to extend the RROD Warranty because they know their console CAN'T LAST 3 years without suffering Hardware failure.
The Xbox 360, although it has a great game library, is a cheap piece of hardware garbage.
People joke that the PS3 has to wait for games to be made for it.
The Xbox 360 is the only console where the games WAIT for the console to get "fixed"...

My 360 lasted 1 year and 5 months.
My $1,400 HDTV lasted 6 months... And took 5 months to get a brand new one.
My Geforce 3, 4, 5 broken countless times...
My PSU broke...
My Case fans over the years broke.
My cars broke to many times to count...
My roof on my houses broke and needed replaced...
My carpet broke and needed replaced...
My dog broke and died... Now that was sad.
I will break and die...
OMG I can go on and on...
Things break... Things can break fast or slow... I have no control... So why cry about it?
Overheating displays a different Error Code on the Xbox 360.
Three blinking lights represents a General Hardware Failure; meaning even if you cooled that thing off, it would not function due to internal damage (broken circuits, loose solder, etc...).
Undoubtedly, overheating has led to the RROD because of the poor ventilation.
But if the RROD can occur THAT quickly, it's pretty sad.
Agree with the camera man this is embarassing but in all fairness the glass case didnt have good ventalitionEPaul
MS should have planned better even if that is the reason the system went RROD. It still embarassing because they did not know how to set up the system better where it would not go RROD.
They are trying to fix the problem and that is good enough for me...Truth_Hurts_U
They had, up until now, over two years to fix this problem. If they were really trying to fix the RROD it would have been fixed since a long time ago, don't you think?
Well, lets face it, Microsoft has had worse happen to them...

The first thing i thought of when i saw this thread was this video.
nicenator
ha ha - I remember that.
Nothing beats Microsoft's Steve Ballmer running around like a junkie jacked up on cocaine though!
