I prefer to play on PC for the most part (tech+ choice of input), but I def prefer the console exclusive library.

Console, I very rarely prefer to game on PC. And not at all in previous generations, but this gen I will game a bit more on PC due to Ps4 and esp. XB1 suckage.
PC, with a soft spot for nintendo.
I feel that consoles past 6th gen have lost their identity .... and the market is going to move away from fixed devices .... they will become like Steam / Machines .... a store front, with branded hardware and some 1st party games.
The traditional console has next to no advantages anymore, a market that needs to evolve, and is already showing signs of it.
Ofcourse, sony will be last to that party, so naturally the peasant fanboys here will be up in arms.
consoles, I was primarily pc gaming for 6-7 years and I find myself enjoying console games much much more. The pc just seems.... sterile and boring. I never really enjoy games on my pc but a few friends playing on my ps4 we get really excited and have a lot of fun.
The most I get from my pc is a little smile at best where I'll be yelling woah!!! and jumping around with my friends playing the console. You can make all the arguments about libraries, resolutions, tech or whatever but the simple fact is I have way more fun with a ps4 than a pc. PC's do not seem built for home entertainment, the windows/linux/mac software is much more cumbersome and difficult. My ps4 keeps everything updated and I don't have to worry about a thing, turn on tv and play. No modding .ini files, no tweaking fps, no patching, no updating graphics driver, no unstable games that never work (cough battlefield4 cough) no anything. Turn on, play, have fun.
Yes the possibility for modding is there, I modded Skyrim, New Vegas, Fallout 3 to the tits. You know what, they weren't that much better in terms of core gameplay experience. The swords still swung the same way, the characters still walked the same way.
When I was younger consoles were the only option. Now that I'm a adult I lean towards PC. Free online, great sales, and all my friends migrated to the platform as well.
I play more console games regularly, but I spend more time playing my smaller PC library by an order of magnitude.
It depends on the game. PC for games where I feel more comfortable with mouse and keyboard and 27 inch monitor i.e. strategy games, CRPG's etc, console for big exclusives: Halo, Uncharted.
I don't have my PC plugged into a TV at the moment but even if I did I would still prefer some games on a monitor close-up, just what I'm used to I suppose.
The PC doesn't have as many great, unique games now as it used to get, but the greatness that it gets in games like Crusader Kings 2, Europa Universalis 4, Cities: Skylines, Banished, Kerbal Space Program (I know it's coming to consoles, but it won't be the same), etc more than make up for it. Throw in pretty much every 3rd party game on consoles, and some of the Microsoft 1st party games, and the PC today is better than it has ever been and is better than any console ever made.
Console. I put the disc in, it plays and no need to bother with anything else.
I do that with my PC, but double click an icon instead. Faster than getting up to put in a disc!
Let me remember what happened when I went to play Black Ops 2 on a laptop ... oh yeah, the video card didn't like the game and I was met with a game ending bug after about one mission. Good times.
Let me think about every other PC game I've installed - thinking gee I wonder if this will work or not...
And there's the installing and updating the game - how long did Wolfenstein take to install via Steam- hmm, yes I believe I ate supper and did some other shit while it chugged along...
Just saying - its nice to know something will work when I buy it right off the hop.
Plus, I don't have to support Microsoft and their operating system.
It comes down to what I want to do. Games that I play on my own and aren't exclusive to a console get played on my PC, where as multiplayer games are typically played on my console with my friends.

Well the opposite for me. I hope PSN isn't down today!
Honestly i prefer BOTH. Both has its pros and cons ... imo. While on PC i can have best version of multiplats, on PC i'll never get to play many solid games as Bloodborne or Bayonetta 2. I always try to build myself atleast a playable PC and buy consoles also if i can afford ( Why miss out if you got the money to spend? ).
Answer honestly warriors :)
I'm just like you OP. Even though I have a strong bias towards Sony consoles I still love PC gaming and I can't imagine gaming without having both options. They both have their pros and cons.
With PCs you get mods and access to better graphics and PC exclusives like Star Citizen, Elite Dangerous, etc.
With consoles you get access to exclusives like Uncharted 4, DOA Extreme 3, Bloodborne, Oneechanbara, Persona 5, etc.
It's why I've always had a good PC to go along with my consoles since the late 90s.
PC for single player, console for multiplayer
Shouldn't it be the other way round?
why would it be the other way around?
/shrug .... many more multiplayer games on PC, with far more genres.
Outside of shooters... and a much smaller fighter scene... consoles don't exactly sport a large array of multiplayer games.
Both have pros and cons. I like playing PC for single player games or games with friends who I can't play with in real life, whereas I enjoy console gaming with people in real time. Also some games are better suited for a controller, FPS, side scrollers etc, and some are better suited with a mouse/keyboard combo, Diablo 3, WOW, Skyrim etc.

true but i cant play with my friends on pc and i've been gaming on consoles for so long that im still more comfortable with a controller when playing competitively. still uncomfortable with a kb/m(especially in shooters) and i haven't really found a multiplayer game on pc that i cant get on console.

lol PSN and XBL. The consoles are no different than PCs in terms or usability. You still have your system updates, game installs, patches etc. So, that is not really a strength for consoles. A lot of that stuff is automated by Windows, Geforce Experience, Steam, etc. anyway. It does not require much from the user. Also, there are plenty of broken games on console too. Not to mention being stuck with crap performance due to poor console hardware.
PC whenever possible. Better/more stable framerate, more choice in controls, more genres, mods, etc. Grew to appreciate consoles somewhat when I got a PS3 last winter, but still shocked how long it takes to get from startup to ingame, to say nothing of the framerate and jaggies once actually ingame.
The controller arguments and playing with friends is weak too. You can hook up your controller of choice to a PC and even have different controllers hooked up at the same time if your friends have preferences. You can easily connect your PC to a TV and game on a couch. You are not stuck with mouse and keyboard at a desktop if you do not want to. One of the many strengths of the PC is its versatility. Embrace it.
I most often go back to console games. NES, genesis, snes, n64--there's simply more classic stuff that I've gone through too many times to count. Even play them on a CRT.
The game is what it is. When I was big into pc games I'd always find myself starting a game and tinkering with the setting--buzz kill.

I've played a few shooters on console (most recently New Order on PS4) and it's fine and I loved the game but no way in hell would I ever play a shooter competitively online without being armed with a mouse and keyboard.
Even if you don't care about having the best version of multiplats, PC is absolutely the home of multiplayer, always has been. Console MP always strikes me as 'fake' though PC as a machine for exclusives has got worse with every passing year unless you love crap indies, Kickstarter projects and games that focus completely on multiplayer.
There is room for both console and PC for anyone who just loves games, something that SW fails to comprehend on a daily basis.
PC is a open development platform so it kills consoles and has a backlog that Is forever. Consoles are just too limited. I cannot wait for consoles to die off and all developers being able to develop games in a open development environment. It will be far better for gamers long term. The whole Sony/Microsoft/Nintendo fan boy thing is really only good for them not for gamers. Once that is gone in the open dev world all gamers will be able to play all games without worry of what box has exclusives. Great games will sell bad games will not that is all you need to keep devs working hard.
Also I think physical media is more or less a waste of time. People will cling to it, but it is going to die off. Sooner the better.
@Motokid6: are you seriously going to say that PC releases are smooth, no updates are required and there is less time tweaking than with console? You can't be that stupid can you? I gamed on PC for 6 years straight but oh well, that's too fucking complex for complete retards.
when was the last time you gamed on the PC? patching/updates are done automatically so there is zero hassle there. You mention updating video drivers as if its something that takes hours to do when it reality it takes less than 10 mins and isn't always required to run a game. Console games need patching and updates finished before running aswell so im not understanding your complaints.

So i take it you only downloaded skins
Was PC, now moved to PS4. Just got sick of the developer sloppiness on PC. I was playing PC with controller in lounge and found laziness with PC games. Metal Gear Solid with a controller, why is there a mouse cursor in the middle of the screen when using a controller? Steam refund instant. Batman AK fail, Steam refund. Games that say controller support yet you have to grab keyboard/mouse for the launcher....really? Why is there no true Dolby on the PC version yet consoles have it? PC dev laziness.
Also why hasn't Valve figured out how to implement themes and colour choices in Big Picture Mode? It's been available for ages yet gets ignored.
COD Advanced Warfare is dead on PC yet lives on with consoles. This is the trend for a lot of games. Getting Star Wars Battlefront prob on console for this reason.
Yes my PC is faster but I just want to sit down and play, couldn't care about slightly higher textures and better lighting.
Always been a PC gamer, since ZX81 (that counts as a PC doesn't it?) can't see that ever changing.
Home computer? Yes!
100% IBM PC-Compatible? I don't think sos!

Actually, one of PC's biggest "pro" over console is that most online games usually last very long with active communities and support. This is compared to console which is usually "jump to next big game" with a handful of populated games.
You named some of the few franchises that is an exception, and died on PC for a reason (CoD sucks).
Consoles, definitely.
Besides the fact that I think consoles have much better exclusives, I also just feel more relaxed when playing on consoles. I could play the same exact game on a PC and on a console and I will have a more enjoyable experience on the console. The only exception is strategy games as I feel this is the one genre that feels better on PC.
