Best and Worst Developers This Gen

Who is your favorite and least favorite developer this gen?

My favorite would have to go to Nintendo. SMG, SMG 2, New SMB Wii, DKCR, Zelda TP, and SSBB were all great games. Valve, Crytek, and Rockstar have also all been very good.

My least favorite is Ubisoft, and nobody else is even close. Ubisoft was one of the best developers last gen, but this gen they have just released stinker after stinker. The only Ubisoft games I have played this year that haven't been grossly disappointing were the Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter series.

Rebellion is easily the worst, imo.

As for best... I dunno. Nintendo, Blizzard, Rockstar, or Bungie.

(btw I'm not counting those no name shovelware devs)

The no name shovelware developers are fair game provided you have actually played some of their games. Do not go strictly on reviews when making your choices, please.

If you honestly think that then you certainly haven't played enough games to make a solid judgement

Best: GSC game world.

I'd say Bungie or Rockstar would be well up there.

As for worst, I couldn't say really.

And also, Ubisoft has done pretty dam good for themselves. I myself don't care for the assasins creed games, but They're pretty solid games.

this game was outstanding. 9/10. fantastic art direction, pacing, and scenery. I really enjoyed the free flow combat as well.

Good: Naughty Dog was pretty good the second time around, Bungie, Epic Games, Remedy, Guerrilla, and Visceral.

Bad: Nippon Ichi, Sonic Team, and Rare (excluding PD: Z).

I really wanted to like this game. In many ways it was better than any other POP game. It was the complete lack of difficulty, coupled with Elika saving you every time you actually did manage to fall that did it in for me. That's not even mentioning that they took out all of the satisfying combat from the previous games and replaced it with nothing but one on one pseudo boss fights.

Best - Ubisoft (Assassins Creed Series, Prince of Persia 2008, Splinter Cell Conviction)Bioware ( Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2)

Worst - Lionhead - Please just give up on the Fable series the last two have been terrible.Rockstar - Don't get what the big deal is with Red Dead and GTA4 they're both just so boring.

This was good, although Naughty Dog also made vast improvements with UC2.

If Batman: Arkham City turns out as good as Arkham Asylum did, then Rocksteady Studios probably will deserve to be in this discussion.

Can't disagree with any of this. Platinum have brought out a handful of games and they've all been great. Nintendo is king, always has been and probably always will be.

I like how a bunch of people consistantly throw Square Enix as the worst developer when in all honesty they honestly don't deserve that title. People are just upset that FFXIII didn't turn out the way they wanted, and thus they rage about it. XIII is still a good game, just not up to most's expectation.

Granted, they did mess-up with XIV, but a company that has produced so many successful titles can't be judged by one mistake. There are far more companies deserving of the, "Worst Developer" title.

Well, I enjoyed The Last Remnant, so I didn't mention them. I thought FF13 was pretty bad, though, so I could see why somebody would point them out.

Rebellion did Rogue Warrior so they may have to be the worst, but then again, Tecmo did Quantum Theory...

Best: Bethesda, Nintendo.

I don't really know a specific developer that developed multiple bad games, but whoever the Dev for Terminator Salvation was.

Level 5 has been really awesome as of late. Square Enix has been very disappointing this gen outside of TWEWY.

It's just that I found their games extremely boring. After hearing so much good from friends and teh internet, I was REALLY disappointed from what I got out of their products. IMO they're one of the most overrated devs and I simply do not understand why people find their games so special :?
