I would say Halo 3 had some impressive A.I. for the enemy although not for the marines. Also Fear was very impressive. demon565
I played fear on the 360 and hated it but maybe the PC version was better and yes Halo 3 was pretty good in the AI dept
Half-Life (1), S.T.A.L.K.E.R and F.E.A.R all have very impressive AI.
Half-Life more so, considering the AI of the HECU Marines still stands up to the AI we see in today's games. At least, IMO.
F.E.A.R's AI is made more impressive by the amazing animations that support it.
Whilst Halo 3's enemy AI was quite nice, the friendly marines have succumbed to the "stupid" virus, infecting the AI of some of the more recent games.
i thought FEAR had the best enemy AI.bulletswordDefinately. They adapt well to their surroundings and it surprises me even to this day. STALKER also deserves a noting.
With the TC choosing Crysis, I'll have to strongly disagree with you. There are several times when I was in front of KPA soldiers and they showed very slow reactions. They don't adapt well to the enviornment at all most of the time either. I cruised through the game 6 times on Delta. That's an issue for me.

never played a stalker game...I just started the whole PC thing so maybe i'll check it out....there is a new one coming right?

Yea, not a sequel, prequel, 50 new map added and i think they are augmenting the 50 percent of the stuff already there, if you like rpg hybrids like deus ex or system shock 2 it's worth a look, if you like more run and gun type games like halflife or halo, it might not appeal. Some people love it, others hate it.
halo 3 on legndaryNisim19:) It was much funner with the skulls that make them yell and dodge grenades. There were some others, but I can't remember them off the top of my head.

I like the one that made 'em cheer when you got a headshot and have confetti explode out their heads.
STALKER or Crysis
Both had problems, but they are in a large open environment oppose to games like FEAR where there are in close corridors.

it's probably me I must suck lol....I need to break the gamepad out
Just learn to use mouse/keyboard. It's worth it to use the different interface.it's probably me I must suck lol....I need to break the gamepad out

Gears of War and Condemned have been the most impressive for me so far.killab2oo5Gear of War for mee has one of the most dumbest AI. Heavenly Sword too. But Uncharted has great AI those guys sometimes are dificutl to hit. If you playit in hardest mode is almost imposible.

I guess...I mean it takes some getting used to because I have to look down sometimes and it's not as natural as a gamepad but I have been a console gamer my whole life so that's the problem lol

Agreed. I am more impressed by how good the AI was in such an open environment. It is very hard to write how AI acts with so many object on screen and so many possibilities. So that why I feel they were both the more impressive games with AI.
Anyone can write good AI if they are in corridors sine there are only so many scenarios that can be played out in each.

the mouse I like the keyboard I hate! I hate using W to and S to walk etc lol
Uncharted.
The AI in Crysis was bad even in the hardest dif. I would believe that STALKER has a good AI, but they just have a good arsenal which kills you sooner, they still move in a line and go behind trees as soon as you fire, but they dont try to surround you at all or flank you.
Ah. That just takes time.the mouse I like the keyboard I hate! I hate using W to and S to walk etc lol

i thought FEAR had the best enemy AI.bulletswordIt failed the "Bazfrag Test"(tm). Which is: Does the enemy walk dumbly round a corner you have covered?
To be fair thats only when they cannot flank, but strolling into your gunfire one at a time is something i would expect from Doom.
"but they turn over furniture to make thier own cover" you could say. Yeah, once, and its scripted.
Dude, everyone knows good AI is evidenced by how much they like hot lead in their bowels. ... I'm getting kinda punchy. I should tone myself down a notch. :lol:Yeah, once, and its scripted.

no don't worry, the ai in crysis was definitely good ,although broken. what i mean is they somethimes bechaved in a random maner or do strange things but when they are behavign as expected then there are pretty dangegrous - they surround you from all sides and move behind trees etc.
On topic I think best I is definitely FEAR
