Wawaweewaa, this is hard. I'm going to be reaallly annoying and say world of warcraft, simply because I spent so many hours playing it, and if something is worth putting in so many hours, it must be good! (I don't play it any more though)

There are two kinds of gamer:

1. Those who love Minecraft
2. Those who haven't played Minecraft

With that said of course, it requires a particular kind of person to enjoy the game. If you enjoy being able to express your creativity, and loved Lego (either as a child, or still do), Minecraft is basically a giant box of Lego bricks that you can play around with. If you don't mind not having "objectives" to complete, and you can come up with "projects" you should be able to pour tens of hours into the game and not even know it. I know, for several weeks, I'd play it 5-6 hours a day (on any day I had the time) and not notice the time go by.

It definitely needs improvements and lots of bug fixes... but as it stands currently, it is possibly the best thing to happen to PC gaming (in the sense of creating a game with so much depth and freedom in Java) in a long time. There have been over 600,000 people who have bought the game already... and it goes up by several thousand every day.

Overall, no, I like StarCraft II better. However, StarCraft had more impact on me at the time.

I love the free version, is it worth buying the "full" version now or wait til its complete?

You pay 10 Euros now and get the full version when it comes out. Or you wait, and pay 20 Euros later for the full version. I think this is a no-brainer decision. If you love just using bricks to build, going around collecting resources and seeing large-scale projects come to life over time is exceptionally rewarding.

Yeah, it should be a little clearer... but you are buying an account, not the "game," so you will continually get new content as it is added. That and you can completely change all the textures in the game, so you can alter it to your own specifications. Hell, you could turn it into a literal box of Lego.

very poor as in a very low score, or very poor as in an innaccurate review of the game?

_Matt_

Mostly unfair. The review seems to be based on the idea that it was a combination of two other games (it mentions Warcraft and Civilization), instead of evaluating the game based on its own merits. Granted, the score merely reflects the reviewer's enjoyment, but I still feel it was unfair to give the predecessor of AOEII such a low score. I enjoyed it quite a bit (not nearly as much as AOEII) but it was still a good game with a unique premise (medieval RTS) for its time.

The game had a atmosphere that I did not feel the same way of AoE2.. They are both amazing games though.

Sounds good to me. I watched some of the videos people uploaded on youtube, and it looks very simple but in a very awesome way. It seems also very addicting. I'll try it out and might pay the 10 euros for it. Seems like a steal.

It's... different. It has a lot more rough edges, but one can forgive them if they realize this was the predecessor of the greatness of AOEII, so you can see where all the ideas came from, and how they developed into the second iteration. If you can find it cheap, it would definitely be more than worth playing through most of the campaigns.
